Christmas Cards Layout

On this fun layout, I included all the photo cards we receive for Christmas as well as any handmade cards we receive. I think these cards are fewer and fewer each year which is sad.

The main focus of this layout is to get them in my album so I wasn't too worried about any of the normal parts of a layout...title, journaling, embellishments, etc.

This is the final page of my 2021 scrapbooking album! It's good to get another year completed and now I'm off to 2022!

What do you do with your photo cards? Do you add them to your album?

Check out the YouTube video to see how I gutted my paper and how I took advantage of a flip flap in order to see both sides of a card.

Angled Gate Card; MCK October

I"ve been seeing these angled gate cards around a lot so I thought I'd make these for the October, 2022, Monthly Card Kit (MCK). This is the complement card and not the one we'll make together during the FaceBook LIVE Event on the last Tuesday of the month.

If you want to see the featured card, check out the Monthly Card Kit tab from the Home Page.

These cards are pretty simple to make but are oh so pretty and fun! The card base is 5.5x11 scored at 3 1/8 and 7 5/8 on the 11" side. Then you mark down 1.5" from the top left and top right sides of the card as well as 1" from the both sides of the bottom edge. See the photo below and also check out the YouTube process video for clarification.

Once you slice off those 'triangles', you'll have your card base. The patterned papers will also be cut that way from two 3 1/8x5 1/4” pieces.

You can use the leftover strip of cardstock (after you cut the 8.5x11" cardstock into 5.5x11") to cut 1.5 x 11" strip to use for the band.

All cuts were on Cricut Design Space and the patterned papers are from the Main Street collection from Quick Quotes.

I love this rustic paper because it gives it a masculine look but those colors work well for anyone.

I realize that I don't make many masculine cards and I need to do that more often.

What do you think? Pretty cool, right?

Birthday Wish Layout; Finishing Up a Kit

It feels so good when you use up a kit. I'm sure you're going to gasp, but I ended up tossing the last of the scraps of this Secret Garden paper kit from Quick Quotes. Sometimes you just have to do it! I was on their Design Team years ago and this was one of my favorite lines.

I also used some Texas journaling pocket cards for mats on three of the photos. I could have just tossed those too, but I was so happy to use them for this layout! The blue arrow paper is cut down to 11.25 x 11.25" square and matted on Blast Off Blue Cardstock from CutCardStock. Although both of these papers are pretty heavy, I decided not to gut the blue cardstock. (Just a lazy decision more than anything)

This layout was inspired by a sketch from Scrapbooking With Ann Marie. If you haven't already, check out her website. It is so great especially if you're a newbie and need lots of inspiration!

Be sure to check out the process video on how I put this layout together using one full 12x12 patterned paper and lots of scraps, punches, stickers and imagination!

I post two videos a week and at least one will be scrapbooking and the other will be whatever I'm creating in the Command Center which is the name of my craft room and of course, blog. I hope you decide to hit the SUBSCRIBE button.

Five Day Cricut Challenge; Day #4, Scrapbook Overlay

Day #4 of my personal Cricut challenge and I've already made something using regular vinyl, HTV, and cardstock. This scrapbooking technique is one of my favorites to do with the Cricut. I've done something similar here and here. This one is pretty simple, but it's perfect for the last two photos of Christmas 2019.

Be sure to check out the YouTube video here:

After cutting and adhering all the paper layers. I added black pen border around all the embellishments, some black splatter and gold sequins. I also added some strips of scrap paper to add fishtail banners here and there. The patterned papers are both from Quick Quotes. As an afterthought, I should have used a solid cardstock for the overlay, but it was in mid-cut when I realized it and it was too late. I didn't want to waste that gorgeous green patterned paper!

There's only one day left of the Five Day Cricut Challenge I put on myself and I'm having so much fun! What will I make tomorrow???

Mixed Media Tag

Hubby and I are visiting my sister and mother in Tucson, Arizona. I know you're thinking why would anyone go and visit Arizona in the summer...we're here to give my sis a break while watching mom. We are experiencing high temps but also monsoons. Even as I'm typing this, it is raining hard with thunder and lightening outside. We even experienced a sand/dust storm. Now that was eerie!

I brought along some crafty supplies and my sis has some supplies here too. I had some downtime and decided to make (and film) a mixed media tag. I started out thinking I was going to make a card, but it turned into a tag and I just love it!

Check out the process video here - you even get to see me on this one!

Here are some photos of the final project:

I love how fun this was working with limited supplies and tools. It took a turn from "wasn't sure if I liked it" to "love it!"

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2019; Day Eleven & TGIF

Merry Christmas! We're almost to the end of the tags series. Do you have a favorite? It's tough for me to choose, but these are definitely in the running.

I have a stamp that reads "Every Time A Bell Rings, An Angel Gets It's Wings" and knew I wanted to use it somehow. I cut out these shiny yellow cardstock bell shapes using my Cricut. The sentiment was stamped on vellum using Quick Quotes Gray ink. Their ink pads are perfect for all surfaces. I used a Christmas pad to cut out the large tag shapes also with my Cricut.

Used Distress Stain very sloppy around the large tag edges. I also stamped an ornament image using Lipstick Ink from Quick Quotes before layering everything together.

And because we need to hear a bell ringing...I tied the jingle bell to the top with twine.
I also added some metallic gold marker highlights on the berries.

Don't forget to leave a comment on this post as well as all the other of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series. To see previous years' tags, click on the 12 Days of Christmas Tags label to the right.

At the end of the series, I'll draw a name and one lucky person will win one of each of the 12 tags made this year.

If you are interested in purchasing the 2019 tag collection, leave me a message.

And since it's TGIF; Thankful Friday, this week I'm thankful for my daughter-in-law. She's been helping me with dinner this week and it has been really nice not having to cook! Thanks Girl!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2019; Day Five

Day Five tags are made with a SU! stamp set that I haven't used before. I purchased this set from a local thrift store for $3.00! I own the punch for many, many years but didn't buy the coordinating stamp set and when I found the set at the thrift store, I was so excited!

And here they are all done!

Both patterned papers used are from the Holly Jolly collection from Quick Quotes. I love that butter yellow patterned paper - so pretty!

At the end of the series, I will be giving away a set of one each of the 12 tags. Be sure to become a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post as well as each of the 12 posts for more entries in the giveaway.

Holiday Card with Quick Quotes

I know it’s late, but I’m sharing a holiday card I made using the Holly Jolly paper collection from Quick Quotes. This is an easy card with paper, PowderPuff Chalk Inks some lace & twine.

The first thing I did was cut down a piece of patterned paper from the Holly Jolly collection and inked the edges with Kokomo PowderPuff Chalk Ink.
I added some Cactus PowderPuff Chalk Ink on this piece of white lace.
I attached the colored lace, twine and a 1/2” piece of paper to the bottom of the base paper to create  some interest to the bottom of the piece.
I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of cardstock using Kokomo PowderPuff Chalk ink and inked around the edges. This was attached using 3D foam tape. I tied a double bow with the same twine and attached that to the center.

Holly Jolly Holiday with Quick Quotes

Hi there, I’m sharing a single page layout using products from December’s Club Q by Quick Quotes.
I inked the edges of both papers with Cactus PowderPuff Chalk Ink and all the embellishments. The fabulous thing about these kits is there are precut embellishments in both paper and chipboard.

I inked the tree edges in Cactus ink even though I knew the paper would cover them. I figured if I adhered it wrong, the ink will hide any mistakes.

I also inked the title chipboard in Cactus PowderPuff Chalk Ink. I love how the kit also included a die cut to mat the title!

The paper I used is perfect for the mixed media look without the mess, bulk or time. I didn’t do much else to the page except add some rhinestones to the tree on the bottom right. The rhinestones are also part of the Club Q kit!

WOYWW #498 & 12 Days of Christmas Tags 2018; Day Eight

Day Eight of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series for 2018 is the same day as WOYWW #498. Read more about WOYWW on the Stamping Ground blog. Can you believe she's up to 500 posts soon!?! That's pretty cool!

My desk after making these tags:

If you haven’t already, check back to the last seven posts. I hope you’ll like what you see. I love making my own tags and this is my third year of the 12 days of Christmas Tags series. If you have time, click on the label to the right and see my past tags.

At the end of the series, I’ll randomly select one person to win a set of one of each of the 12 tags. Every comment is an entry for the drawing. You can leave one on each day, some of them or even one. I hope you play...

I’m a Quick Quotes DT member for 2018 and I’ve been playing with the December Club Q products for these tags. One of the project kits included these fancy cutouts and I thought they’d be perfect for gift tags. I inked each tag base with Kokomo PowderPuff Chalk Ink. I cut a rectangle and rounded two sides of it before adhering to the cardbase. The little decorative pieces are also from the Club Q kit and I popped them up using 3D adhesive squares.

I love this paper line from Quick Quotes. It’s called Holly Jolly Holiday and it’s a lot of fun! Great traditional colors and patterns.

Don’t forget to leave your comments for your chance to win and to click on over to the Stamping Ground blog to check out other deskers!

Happy Holidays!

State Fair

Hi there today I’m going to share a quick and easy layout featuring three photos.  Two are 4x6 and the third was cut down to 3x4. I’m using the Hibiscus paper collection from Quick Quotes which will be available soon.
This bright and cheerful paper collection is perfect for your summer layouts! I specifically used the HI101 and HI102 papers. HI101 was used as the base and HI102 was cut down to 6x12. I inked all four edges using either Island Orange or Bermuda PowderPuff Chalk Inks.
Honestly that was about it. Didn’t I say a this was quick and easy? I added a blue scalloped edge and four different and coordinating Washi Tapes to the seam.

I used a “summer” cut out from a previous Club Q kit and ombré inked it with Bermuda PowderPuff Chalk Ink to coordinate with the papers. I used the backside of one of the papers for the journaling block base and added a piece of white cardstock. Both of these pieces were inked around the edges as well.
I found some coordinating alphabet stickers and splattered some ink on the diagonal corners to finish the page.

Anniversary Card

Hi there, I'm sharing a card I made using the Autumn Brillance paper collection from Quick Quotes. My 32 year wedding anniversary is today so I decided to make a card for hubby.

This was a quick card to make since I really wanted to showcase the beautiful paper. I started by cutting a 4x5 1/4 piece from AU100 of the Autumn Brillance paper collection. I inked all four edges with Kokomo PowderPuff Chalk Ink.

The first thing I did was create two faux “Polaroid” frames using some cardstock scraps and a square punch. Both frames were inked with Kokomo PowderPuff Chalk Ink. Then I wrapped natural twine around the card base and tied a triple loop bow. I placed the leaf die cut under the bow and added a tiny punched heart to one of the frames.

I was going to stop there, but decided to stamp “Love You” multiple times in the top left corner. I used Kokomo for this too!

That's it! I believe in beautiful and easy!

Young and In Love; QQ Layout

Hi, I'm sharing a layout using the Autumn Bliss paper line from Quick Quotes. Autumn Bliss is the featured paper collection in November’s Club Q. This paper is so gorgeous and perfect for a photo of a young newlywed couple.

I used the front and back sides of two pieces of paper. I love the grayish/denim looking side and knew I wanted to use it for the base. I inked all edges with Cool Gray PowderPuff Chalk Ink. Then cut the front side at 11.25x11.25 inches. I inked those edges with Cool Gray as well. I adhered that piece slightly off centered towards the bottom right corner.

Then I cut a small portion of the chevron piece for a border underneath the photo. This was inked in Vanilla Cream PowderPuff Chalk Ink. I punched a piece of the back side of this and cut two strips (polka dots) of this for more eye candy.

I wanted more floral without the bulk so I stamped some leaves and flowers using Light Moss, Cactus, Vanilla Cream and Cool Gray PowderPuff Chalk Inks.

I added a variety of embellishments from my stash and a title to complete the page.

Love the colors of this paper collection! It’s so beautiful and perfect for a Fall wedding.
