Guess what I've been doing....

Morning crafty peeps....

I thought I would spend a little bit of time catching up on my blogging as I haven't really had the time to do any for a while and I've got lots of things to share!

As you know, I do the workshops at the Craft shows for Tonic, and we have been a bit busy running up and down the country doing 'our thing'... so time has been a bit limited! Add into that some decorating, building work, painting, sorting and general house-y stuff and time has just disappeared!!

Anyway... I did find time to have a dabble with my Silhouette Cameo. This damn thing haunts me!!

I have had it for a few years now, and it has cut all but the smallest amount of cardstock - trying to find what I could do with it was a nightmare. Trying to find the perfect cut - was a nightmare. Setting it up - was a nightmare.. The whole thing was - yes you guessed it - a total nightmare.

But - BUT - I have found one thing I can do with it after all this time!! I can cut vinyl!

This is what I have managed to achieve on my little bits of vinyl I had left over from doing my glass block lamps. (I didn't use the vinyl - I cheated and used dies to cut out the designs!!)

The one above is on the side of the laundry wall... and was the first thing I managed to sort out to cut properly. I found the text on Pinterest and loved the wording, so changed the fonts, added a few swirls and off we went....

These two little coasters are made from small four inch tiles... and I cut the wordings again from the vinyl and just added it to the tiles. This was scaled down to fit so was very fiddly to try and do.. but I think they worked well in the end.

Now... this one below is my favourite.

I have made two of these... one of them is alot smaller - a grand old size of around three inches across, to fit in a dedicated space in my kitchen.

I love the wording, and this was a download from the Silhouette store. All I needed to do was scale it down to the size I needed and that was that.

I hope you like today's diverse little projects... I know they're a bit different from cardmaking but hey - that's what craft is all about eh?

Until next time. xxxx

A little bit of romance...

Morning again!

This seems to be a bit of a regular occurance, posting at this time of the morning.. but yet again, can't sleep so thought I'd blog a couple of little makes.

It doesn't really seem the right day to be getting all lovey-dovey, as my youngest has just broken up with the love of her life, and is in pieces... but as most of the makes I've done today are all of the romance kind, this is  perhaps the best of the bunch!

It's really hard when a relationship breaks down, but when it's one of your children, it hurts more doesn't it. I've been through it now with all three of them, and it doesn't get any easier. Thank goodness I'm not that age anymore.

Oh well.... sigh.... onto today's projects.

Firstly, last night, I finally gave into the big green bag that's been sat in the corner of the room for months, and got out the Silhouette Cameo. It's something I've always wanted since I spied a Robo, and now I have one, and never use it. But just look what I made....

When I got the machine, I got the free voucher for some download cuts, and I got the cupcake stand and the dress box as part of my order. Lovely aren't they? The stand is so strong too, so I think a few more of these will be being made to stand cards on!

The favour box was so easy to put together - I stuck the skirt on with foam pads for quickness, but generally I'd use silicone. I was just toooooo eager to see how it looked when it was together. I finished it off with a cross over bow and a little blitter flower.

Now I have a box, so I needed a card. And here it is.

Now, this one wasn't done on the cameo, but I wanted to match the card to the box, so I reached for my embossing folders, die cuts and wording and off I went. I did in fact have wording that I cut with the cameo, but broke it before I stuck it down. Derr!!!

The border is so pretty and cuts so well too.. the wording is from an older Xcut die I have, and I just love the font. It's perfect for every occasion.

I reversed the embossed background to give it a flatter look as I wanted to add these couple of stunning butterflies. Again, something I found in my crafty stash and forgot I had.

Isn't it just the cutest... and the detail is amazing. And they cut no problem at all!

I will be back tomorrow with a couple more projects.. but for tonight, sleep well, and I'll be back in a few hours!!!
