We are at the midway point of the August Card Challenge at 12 Months of Christmas.  For this month, the optional twist is Circles.  I've used lots of circles in my card.

She who leaves a trail of glitter

This month at Path of Positivity Challenge, the optional twist is "Inspired by Texture".   I love the texture of glitter, so I used this as my inspiration for the start of the challenge.

 I have used a faux glitter digital paper for the background.  The images are from Cuddlebug, Digital Doodling and May Brit.  The sentiment is from A Piece of Heart.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I added Kindy Glitz (glitter) to the wings and Wink of Stella to the dresses.  I also added some tiny glitter domes.

Wishing You A Fairy Special Birthday

 I printed out this image at the beginning of the month and as of the start of today, it was still uncoloured.  I had a bit of time this evening while I was waiting for the "red moon" to start appearing so sat down and coloured and crafted a card.

Okay, so almost another day has passed before I have managed to photograph and watermark the card.  The red moon was a bit more hype than anything else unless I just live in the wrong place.  The moon was fairly small that you couldn't really pick up any colour change.

Thinking of You

 We have had a bit of a mixed weather day today.  It has been sunny at times and overcast at other times.  I hung out my washing and got it mostly dry which was surprising given that it wasn't that warm outside for much of the day.  There must have been just enough breeze to help dry everything.  

I also finished off a couple of cards that were almost finished.  I am sharing one tonight, but I will wait until tomorrow for the other one.  My energy levels are flagging a bit and the other one can wait to be shared.

I have used a digital paper from Far Far Hill.  The image is from Fred She Said and the sentiment is from Digital Doodling.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I inked the rim of the image with Distress Ink.  I added a Merry Christmas ribbon that I bought a few years ago and have left languishing in my stash - time for it to come out of there!

Special Friendships are rare and need to be treated with care

 It is time for the reveal at Card Chain Challenge.   In February I sent this card to Tina in Slovenia:

These were the prompts that I followed:

I used ribbon and an embossing folder to create the background.  The circles are die-cut with a stitched circle die from Memory Box and then inked with Distress Ink while still in the die.  I added some puffy heart stickers to the circles.  The sentiment is from Digital Doodling.

As per last month, I am still waiting for the card from Jutta in BC Canada to finish it's world tour and make it to my place.  We seem to be very hit and miss with our mail at the moment.  One thing that was sent from UK got to me in 10 days and another that was sent to me from Greece took nearly 8 months to reach me.  Neither 2021 Card Chain Challenge card has reached me yet.   I'd given up on the one from Greece that arrived a couple of weeks ago so they do get here in the end!

We are having a weird weather day today.  It is alternating between the sun shining and then pouring with rain.  It's like it changes it's mind every 5 minutes.

With Sympathy

I needed a Sympathy card over the Christmas period and discovered that I didn't have any.  I had this image in the box of printed images that I am trying to actually use.  The sentiment is out of the box of printed sentiments that I am also gradually using.  It was perfect for creating a Sympathy card to put aside in case it is needed.

I'm hoping it will be a nice hot summer.  Today is officially the start of spring - and it isn't really spring-like weather!  Still it is nice to see alot of spring flowers and trees in blossom.

The sun is finally out today - after about a week of wet weather.  I actually started this card while the weather was still miserable - to cheer myself up.  Maybe the weather took heed!

I embossed some pale yellow cardstock with an embossing folder called "Heavy Duty".  It reminded me of the tread on the bottom of jandals (I think they are called Flip Flops in other countries).  The sentiment is a digital sentiment from Digital Doodling.  I added some colour to both the image and sentiment using copic markers.  I also used some Distress Ink to ink the inner of the sentiment diecut and the outer of the image diecut.  I used some ribbon from a grab bag of ribbons that I purchased a few months back as well as two enamel dots from We R Memory Keepers.

Happy Father's Day

I had an eventful day yesterday.  After my flight was delayed 45 minutes for fog, we finally got underway.  While we were in transit, the weather deteriorated at our destination.  By the time, we got here visibility wasn't the best.  The pilot had a couple of attempts at landing over a period of about 30 minutes before deciding to head to another airport.  We were then bussed back here - so that instead of arriving here at 10.40am we finally got back at 2.05pm!  I had intended making a card or two when I got back as I hadn't taken my supplies with me - however by that time I had to get some lunch (didn't have any time before the bus left to get anything) and then get to work.  So this morning, it is time to have a play.

The males in my family are nearly all golfers - so I tend to create golf themed masculine cards more than any other theme.  I used a paper from a paper pad by Authentique for the background.  I couldn't decide which side to use - so I used both!  I placed a green piece underneath.  The image is from QKR Stampede and is coloured with copic markers, die-cut with a Spellbinder die and has faux stitching added with a Distress Marker.  I cut apart a sentiment from Digital Doodling and added this.
I also added a gold brad to secure the turned back corner.
