Winter Wonderland

It is the midway point of the challenge at 12 Months of Christmas.  This month, the optional twist is Winter Sport.

I have used a digital paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The image is from Eiglass and the sentiment is from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  Colouring is with copic markers and Kindy Glitz.  I also added some stickers.

Here is the sketch for this card:

This card uses two papers from a Kaisercraft christmas paper pad.  The image is Santa Paws by Eiglas.  I have coloured using copic markers W5, W3, W1, R59, R46 and a pink in the ears which may be RV10?.   The scallop circle and the star have both been cut from Glitter Cardstock by DCWV.  The string of stars is a self-adhesive "ribbon".  I also added some crystal Stickles to the hat.

Embossed Santa Claws

Here is a second card using the other embossing folder I purchased last week:

This card is for the challenges at:
CRAFT Challenge - Use Embossing
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/challenge-196-28th-of-february-use.html

This card uses some green paper from a themed paper pack.  The image is Santa Claws from Eiglassing.  I have kept the embellishing to just some pearls in the corner so that the embossed paper can shine out a bit.  The image has been coloured with copic markers and highlighted with Kindy Glitz.

Get Well Soon

With the ever changeable weather we are having at the moment, everyone I know seems to be getting sick - including myself!  So with that in mind, I have created a Get Well Soon card that I am sure will need to be used very soon!

The card will be entered into the following challenge:
Crafty Creations - Get Well
http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2012/10/challenge-192-get-well.html

I have used a very vibrant and cheerful backing paper from Spyder's Corner.   This one is called Picnic.  The image is from Eiglassing and is called Dennis.  I have only outlined coloured Dennis as I thought solid colouring would be too much against the background paper.  However, I nearly coloured it in completely as itis alot harder to outline colour!   The sentiment has been typed on the computer.  The matting is yellow cardstock and I have also added some yellow rhinestones.

Christmas Pets and Recycling

What do Christmas Pets and Recycling have in common?  This card for a start!

This card is being entered into the following challenges:

ABC Christmas - R is for Recycling
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/r-for-recycling.html
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Pets
http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/christmas-pets.html
Christmas Crafting - Traditional Colours
http://christmascrafting.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/were-back-challenge-14.html

I'll start with the Christmas Pet.  This is Merlin looking at the Christmas tree.  He comes from Eiglassing Digital Stamps.  I coloured his tree using copic markers and then added some red rhinestones for the garland round the tree.

Now for the recycling.  There are two recycled items on this card.  The first is the gold ribbon.  What you see is actually the back of the ribbon which came from a box of Guylan chocolates.  The other side has Guylan written on it!  The other recycled item is the chain on the dog tags.   My son recently swam in the NZ Secondary School Championships.  While I was waiting for him to get changed, I was talking to the receptionist who was sweeping the floor.  I spotted this bit of chain amongst the stuff she was sweeping up!  I knew straight away that I had a use for it.  She was a bit bemused by me wanting it so I'll have to make sure I show her the finished product!

The rest of the card - the paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and worked well with the colour scheme that I had already chosen.  The dog tags come from Digi Ditto.

Blue Blue Winter Sports

I have combined two challenges for this card:
Winter Wonderland - Winter Sports
http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/its-winter-sports-with-winter.html
Christmas Challenges {with sketches} - sketch and twist
http://christmaschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/challenge-38-with-twist-sponsored-by.html

The twist for this challenge was to use blue, white and snowflakes.  The sketch and the colour scheme gave me the inspiration to complete my Winter Wonderland card as I had only got as far as selecting an image and then had creative block!

I have used co-ordinating blue papers from Trimgym.  These worked really well together and were in the blue and white colour scheme.  The image is from Eiglassing and is called Winter Twins.  I kept the colour scheme almost completely blue for the image as well - even to the blue lips!  I resisted putting a blue tinge to their skin though!!

The blue ribbon is overlaid over the lace - these are two separate pieces.  The sentiment has been stamped using Distress Ink - tumbled glass.

I have punched some snowflakes from various scrap pack pieces and glittered them up with some Crystallina Kindy Glitz.  To finish the card, I have added some little pearls.

Open it Up

For this challenge, ABC Christmas Challenges, asked us to open it up:
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/07/o-for-open-it-up.html

I decided that I would make a triptych card for this one.  So, I went in search of a template and found one at ruthannzaroff.  I printed it out and my computer managed to re-size it and it wouldn't meet in the middle!  After several attempts at re-setting the printing options, I finallly got it to work:

And now to open it up and see inside:

I used quite a few things in creating this card.

The image is one from Eiglassing called Merlin mesmerising a Chocolate Santa! Apparently, Merlin is her own dog.  I have coloured Merlin and the tree using my copic markers.  The background paper is from Bearly Mine Designs.  I have overstamped this with the Merry Christmas sentiment that came with Cardmaking in Easy Steps magazine.  The satin ribbon used to tie the card together has been threaded through some holly eyelets that I bought from a closing down sale a few years back and haven't used.

The inside of the card has been sponged with Distress Inks - Antique Linen, Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo.  I have cut out some baubles using a Spellbinders die and also punched a lace eyelet border using a Martha Stewart punch.  The stamp is a rubber stamp from a New Zealand company called Hastings Art Stamps.

After missing the deadline on the last couple of ABC Challenges, I'm happy to have finished this one in time.
