Let me look over here for a minute
I want this article pinned at the top of network news sites so people can refer back to it whenever the rest of the news is too much.

Rainy days and baby birds
Little buddy and I waited out the rain yesterday. He was too wet too take off so he rested on the porch while the two of us kept an eye out for predators.

Neighbors
A reminder for anyone going to Stokercon next year… you can have your photo taken with a giant Mr. Rogers. This one was taken ten years ago, but Fred Rogers still waits by the river.

More of the reads current
Current reads from Grady Hendrix, Cixin Liu, Oscar Zarate & Richard Appignanesi, and Christopher McGlothlin. Perhaps not current releases but the TBR pile is all about playing catch-up and increasing my anxiety. Believe me, contemplating existentialism for a while, you can face all the other horrors.
Stamps and Kicks
Honestly, it’s a treat when the postal kiosk is down and I buy stamps at the counter because they have all the pictures. I went with the generationally obvious choice (which was not the other generationally obvious choice, William F. Buckley- just go watch Best of Enemies (2015) IYKYK). Also, watch 30 for 30: Be Water on ESPN for a great Bruce Lee doc
Is It In?
Mark Braam discovered this hiding in his home. I started this improv group, Is It In? with Leslee Warren, Scott Clevenger, Ruth Rosenbaum, Jerry Kernion and others. This was our debut, I believe. And we did comedy improv for 3 hours… for 50 cents a head and we packed this Irish pub. Before the last set, Mark even gave us a big introduction with that huge beautiful voice of his (which was one reason I cast him as Peter in JC Superstar). Our troupe name came from a dirty joke (did you think otherwise?) told by Ruth or Scott during a rehearsal break. I tried resurrecting the group in Boston, but different people made for different chemistry. We had a couple gigs (improv in theater in the round is tricky), but those college crowds and especially those first partners- great memories.
