More Mail!~

Look at this lovely table topper I received from a friend today! :-) She hand-stitched the Seven Sisters blocks together for the front. *sorry, one of them is a little dark, it is blue~ could it be because the sky is so dark here?! Rain, rain, go away~~ LOL ** Anyway, isn't it just adorable? She made it reversible, so the back has toile (which I love!) with a crocheted doily in the center. (She made the doily too!) What a great mail day!! :-) She had lots of other goodies in the box too, including some tea~ I'm off to put my tootsies in the air and enjoy a cup! ;-)

Hope you are having a happy day too!~

Until next time~

Happy stitchin'! :-)

Bears in the 'Forest'~

I finished up Step 4 in Judy's 'Bears in the Farmhouse' Quilt-Along. :-) I was afraid I wouldn't get done in time for the next step, but yesterday I found I had an afternoon to sew! I love when that happens on weekends! :-)) **I knew I probably messed up when I resized it and blogger would flip it sideways! :-/ Sorry about that!

Hope you are having a great weekend too!

Until next time~

Happily Sewing~

I had a great 'sew' day yesterday and finished the totes I was working on. The pattern is from the latest issue of Quilts & More magazine. In the original pattern, there is a pincushion attached to the outside of the bag, but I didn't add that as I'm planning to use it for other things. :-)

Both of the lining pieces have pockets, which I love! I know this isn't the best photo, but you get the idea~ ;-)
Today I need to get back to working on the 'Bears in the Farmhouse' top before I get too far behind! ;-))
Until next time~

Busy~Busy

But not so much sewing going on as organizing and swapping! ;-) I finished swapping all the Oriental Lantern blocks yesterday and sent them on their way home. I had to set up 2 extra tables in addition to my large dining room table! :-o Whew! I love swappin', but I am always glad to see the packages leave too! LOL :-)) It took 2 days to get all the blocks swapped, repackaged and back out the door. Now my sewing machine is calling for a little 'play time'!! :-) Maybe I'll have a new project to share with you tomorrow~~ ;-)

Until next time~

Mail~ :-)

I love getting mail! :-)

Back in December I showed some blocks that I am making and exchanging with a friend. At that time, Bingo~Bonnie left a comment about wishing she had someone to exchange blocks with~ <:-)) (LOL ~careful what you wish for!!) After emailing back and forth a few times, we decided to exchange this block~ My Blue Heaven~ from Quilterscache. We down-sized it to an 8 inch block and agreed on scrappy with the larger HST's being blues. This week I got mail!! :-)) Bonnie sent me 2 blocks (aren't they cute!?) and she blogged about making them after I received them~ here. I also sent her a 'test' block and hopefully she will receive it soon! :-))

Yesterday I pulled blues from my scrap bag and FQ's so I can start working on more blocks!~ Bonnie is way ahead of me already! :-o I've also printed off some Triangulations HST papers to make up a bunch of smaller HST's for the blocks~ and now I'm off to sew!

Until next time~
Have a happy weekend!~~ :-)

A finish and some fun~

I finally finished the February BunnyHill BOM (see A Tasket A Tasket in sidebar). I'm teaching myself hand-applique with these blocks and, boy am I slow! :-)) I am hoping to see some improvement by the time December rolls around! LOL :-) If I re-did this one, I'd make the bluebird a different value, but I'm not re-doing anything! ;-) Next I'm off to prep March's block~

And the fun~ a friend on the HGTV message boards is having a pincushion swap and she wanted to see my pincushion collection. This isn't all of them, it's the ones I usually have next to my chair, in the TV room, on top of my sewing machine etc. I also have the one with the tile in the bottom and a bag attached, but it is looking a bit full right now! LOL :-/ I never owned one of the big red tomatoes until a few years ago when I said the only pin holder I had was the magnetic cup~ then I got a few as gifts! :-)) I love them all and they all get used! :-))

I'd like to see your pincushions too! ;-)

Until next time~

Embroidery~

I just finished the March block for Verandah Views (see link in sidebar) ~ :-) I did a few things a bit differently either because I didn't have the same thread, or I couldn't see! :-o I just couldn't get the tiny back stitches for the bee's wings~ so I lazy daisy'd! :-) Worked for me! :-)

I also worked on some floral 9-patch blocks today, but haven't taken any photo's yet. I might not get to them until the end of the week~ DS has a wild schedule this week and 'Mom Taxi' will be on the go. :-))

Hope you had a happy Monday and until next time~

Nose to the Needle!

Ouch! That would hurt! :-))

Step 3 of Judy L's Bears in the Farmhouse Quilt-Along is due tomorrow, so today I sat myself down and kept my nose to the machine until I finished my blocks. :-) Whoohoo! I'm ready for the next step! I'm going to rename it 'Bears in the Forest'. ;-) The color is a little off in the photo~ there is no pink in this quilt! My DS would have a fit if there were. LOL What looks pink in the photo is actually a lighter orange fabric which he approved before I cut into it. ;-)

**Silly blogger tipped my photo sideways! :-o

Hope y'all are finding a little time to stitch too~

Until next time~

Have fun! ;-)

A GiveAway~

Hey y'all~

The Quilted Pig is having a Japanese Fabric GiveAway~ Hurry!~ It ends tonight! :-)

And are you looking for a little blogging fun? Bejeweled Quilts by Barb is having a Round Robin Giveaway. Read all about it on her blog~ :-)

And thanks to my friend Mary for the great giveaway's!! :-) This is just the thing to beat the winter blues! ;-)

Back to Sewing!~

Whoohoo! Seems like forever since I had a good sewing session! Life does have a way of doing that! ;-) I have so many things to do, or rather, that I want to do that I need to get busy! Yesterday I worked on my lantern blocks and they are finished and ready for swapping! :-)) I'm not sure how I'll put the quilt together yet, but I am sure it will be claimed (probably by DD) before it is finished! The oriental prints are so rich and vibrant! Working with the black wasn't fun~ especially trying to sew when there wasn't any sunlight~ I neeeed natural light! Yes, I have one of those energy saving, natural light lamps, but nothing beats true sunshine! :-)

You can click the photo's for a larger lookee ~~I hope! :-))

Next up is the next step in the Bears in the Farmhouse Quilt-Along~~ I can't wait to get to them! So until next time~~

Happy stitchin'!! :-)

A Week! Eek!

Wow I can't believe its been a week since I posted!! :-o The time just flew! I have not been doing anything too exciting~ certainly nothing blogworthy! So just to check in and let y'all know I'm still here ;-), I'll show you a photo of a quilt I did a few years ago. It was a Debbie Caffrey mystery in Traditional Quiltworks magazine~~remember that magazine? It's been gone for a few years now. :-( It called for a certain number of FQ's. So my Mom and I each purchased half yards of fabric and traded half of our FQ's. :-) That was fun! Then we both followed along with the parts of the mystery and the next summer when we saw each other, we had our quilt tops together. It was kinda funny how we paired our fabrics when making the stars~ sometimes we used the exact fabrics, and sometimes not. The border was not part of the mystery. I saw it in another magazine and decided to use up my scraps to make it. When my Mom saw mine, she did hers the same way. :-) She hand-quilted it for me and I did some machine quilting for her on another project. ;-) The binding was the very ends of the scraps! :-) This is the quilt that was on our bed all winter. :-)

Until next time~

Happy Stitchin'!! :-)

B-r-r-r-r

Who knew that having a Halloween Hop last week would bring the chilly weather?! We had rain, wind--- the power even went out for a few hours...
