Thanks for the reminder Barb! :-o I nearly forgot that today is our sew-day! Are you sewing?
I'll be working on more log cabin blocks~
Be back later~~
I'm baaa-aack! :-) I got another 20 blocks completed. There are 104 in the quilt, so I am a little over halfway there with the log cabins. The pattern also has a bunch of flying geese, so I am cutting those out for the next sew day. I hope y'all had some time to sew today too. Until next time~
Happy stitchin'!!

Busy Work~
I finished stitching Gail Pan's 'Blessings to All' pattern a few days ago. Sorry, I should've maybe pressed it a bit before taking a pic. :-/ I need to get some wide rick rack before I can sew it into a little hanging. :-)
And then I've been working on a few block boards~ or mini design boards. You can find a tutorial on Lori Holt's blog. Scroll down the side til you get to the 'tutorial' drawer. ;-) I made a few little ones for small blocks, but I also made some big ones for 12 inch blocks because I joined a fat eighth swap and need to make 17 blocks from different fabrics. Everyone sends a F8 of their chosen fabric to each swapper and we add from our stash to make them a block. I thought if I used these and cut out a few at a time, it would help keep me organized. ;-) And the pretty fabrics are from the strips I won from Debi that I told you about a little while back. :-) I love it when the universe works with me!! LOL If you decide to make some, check out your dollar store for the foam board. ;-) I found it at Dollar Tree.
That's all for today~
Until next time~
Happy Stitchin'!!

Time Flies When Your Sewing...
....Machine is Humming! :-) And my baby has had a workout the past week. ;-)
I finished 18 blocks for the red/white block swap I'm hosting on a message board, and when the other's blocks started rolling in I realized I didn't have enough blocks to give everyone a good assortment back! Eeek!! Usually I have a good number of swappers, but this time there were only 11 of us... so what to do? Make more blocks! I made an additional 9 to help even out the numbers. I was so busy sewing and swapping and packing~ I totally forgot the photo!! :-o I'll take one of my blocks soon.
Then I got to work on the Le Petite project for this month~ it was 'quilter's choice'. :-) We could choose any Scnibble pattern we wanted. Well, I had fallen in love with Full House when I first saw it on Carrie's blog. And then she went and made more! :-) I chose to use my charm packs of Saltbox Harvest... I've only been holding on to them for a year! :-o I love how it turned out! Thanks Carrie for another fun Schnibble!! And thanks also to Sherri and Sinta for the fun every month!
I also finished the next step in the mystery quilt along Leslie is hosting~ I played around with possible lay-outs, but I'm a bit confused by the half plain, half HST squares... any hints Leslie?? :-)
I hope you are finding some fun time for sewing too!
Until next time~

Strips!! :-)
Debi from Quilting With Debi had a wonderful giveaway a couple weeks ago and I was one of the lucky ones. :-) She had been going through some of her scraps and made up 3 boxes of 2.5 inch strips. My box arrived yesterday and I was speechless! So many strips!! And such a wonderful array~ I know I am going to have fun playing with them! A few are going into current in-the-works projects, but I think I need to make a jelly roll type pattern too. Thank you so much Debi!! {{hugs}}
I've been doing a lot of sewing lately, but so much of it is for gifts, so I can't show you. :-( I did make a composition book cover for a friend's birthday recently. I think I need to make myself one now too. LOL
I hope you are getting lots of sewing done~
until next time~

Fun!
I joined the Santa Sack Swap 2 that Carol is hosting. For September we were to make a bag for our partner and send it along with 2 gifts. Next month we send another two gifts for her to add to her sack, the same for Nov, and then in December we send a little bigger gifties. Doesn't that sound fun?! My partner is Cyndi at Bluebird's Wing and I have had so much fun getting to her this past month! Yesterday I received my Santa Sack and first two gifties! Could you hear me squeal?
Cyndi made this wonderful cardinal bag! I loooove cardinals! I love the grommet idea for the handles too! And Cyndi made this on a vintage sewing machine! :-o No walking foot, no help at all when doing all that quilting~ and it is perfect. Wow! Am I lucky or what?!
Look inside~ red!! :-))) And pockets! I think Cyndi knows me well. LOL
She also told me she made the bag that one of the gifts is in~ it is really cool! I'm sure my DD will be checking it out when she comes home next week. She loves to paper craft. ;-)
Thank you so much Cyndi! :-) {{hugs}}
I'm sure you are wondering what I sent. Well, I made this bag from my Christmas stash and a McCall's pattern. The pattern was a little tricky, and if I ever make another, I will change a few things. ;-) I am going to enjoy plotting and planning and filling it for Cyndi. :-))
That's all the news from here~
Hope you are having a happy and safe weekend!

Still Sewing~
I decided to extend Thimbleberries sew day for one more day since I'm loving making these blocks~ and all the mess is out. LOL ;-) I know there are some mediums and even what could be considered a dark in with the lights~ I'm trying not to be too controlling and make it more scrappy. :-)
This is what I accomplished yesterday~ a small pile of Log Cabin blocks. I'm working on one of the quilts in Miss Rosie's Spice of Life Quilts book. (I hope that link works) I am trying out the new and improved blogger and I'm still finding my way around. ;-) It is 'cleaner' and I think I will like it, its just that it takes me a bit to get used to change~ a sign of my age? :-o LOL
I'm off to work a bit. I don't anticipate much sewing time today so we'll see how it goes. ;-)
Have a happy day!
