More of Jackie's block

I did this seam a few days ago and really like the simplicity of it. =)

This is Melissa's work on the same block. Just Beautiful! There is so much work on this meandering motif!

I worked on this yesterday. Since Jackie's block has such a Victorian feel to it I think a fan fits perfect. I hope you like it Jackie. Your block is so beautiful!

My In the Garden block

Melissa has recently worked on my block for the Sisters round robin and it is absolutely stunning. Please hop on over and take a look. Her work is stunning and I can hardly believe it is mine.

Ain't it pretty?

My in the Garden block so far

Is anyone having else trouble doing hyperlinks also? (linking to another blog or site without having to type out the whole url rather then having it highlited within the text?)

Here is my block over at Melissa's blog. I am speechless- it is so beautiful!

In the Garden Round Robin - my block

This is my block for the In the Garden Round Robin. I love the colors and fabrics, but don't particularly like the piecing. I will send it on nonetheless and see what magic can be done with it.

I have to get this in the mail before the beginning of the week so am wanting to add a few items before it goes out.

I pulled out my drawer of lace appliques and here is the mountain (It is a SMALL drawer IMHO) that is at this very moment sitting on my bed. I have been auditioning various items.... Those of CQ obsession will completely understand this mountain currently in my bedroom but those who don't sew might think me a bit, er- uh obsessed. =) What can I say? I plead the fifth. Better get those appliques back at home in their drawer.

Jackie's block

This is Jackie's block so far. I know she really likes Victorian Stuff, laces and whatnot so that is where I started.

Here is the overall block

This is a tatted doily and I added the pearls to give it some zing.
And some pink glass buttons between the lace scallops.
The silkie (actually cotton) was a gracious gift from Katie. Thank You Katie!

I want to do some stitching and will possibly take it on the plane with me on our trip to the Philippines on Monday.

In the Garden Round Robin

At the CQS list, we are doing a round robin with the theme based on the hymn, 'In the Garden.' The ladies at CQS are all Christians so it will really be a special round robin and a special memento once our blocks return home.
I made a block for one of the ladies in it and this is it. She loves all things Victorian and I really like the colors and how it came out. It is twelve by twelve inches and this is it with no embellishments and with how I am leaning to go with it so far... I might change the lace on the bottom. I am digging for some irish crochet that might look better. Have to try it on for size later tonite

More Butterfly Round Robin Work on Gail's Block

Butterfly Round Robin

I recieved a lovely block in the mail last week from the butterfly round robin. This is Gail From Wyoming's block and it is so pretty! I wish I could state who did what on this block but I have mailed the block and can't reference it!

Zandra's Block in the Flutterby Round Robin

This is Zandra's block in the Flutterby Round Robin. It is really a challenge for me because the colors are so bright and something I am not used to. But that is what the round robins are for... challenges.

The lovely butterfly was stitched by Debbie and is outlined in stem stitch and filled in with chain stitch. It is so pretty. I stitched the rose bush to the right of the butterfly and also the seam below it with the buttons. I hadn't planned on adding the butterfly charms or the extending flight path originally, but they seemed to work out well and I really like them there.
Thank You Zandra for allowing me to work on your block.!

Treasury Round Robin- Debbie's Block

This is Debbie's block from the Treasury Round Robin. I have kept it far too long and will be mailing it soon. The difficulty for me is that the ladies before me (I am the last working on it) 'set the pace' and have made it a mostly stitching block and it is mostly a geometric block. Talk about a challenge- at least to me!

I added the feather stitch seam. I might add some flower beads... not sure

I am pleased with the feather stitch circle around the button but think it is too close to the other seam stitchery. If I stitched closer to the edge of the block it probably would get cut off in the seam allowance. =( As much as I tried, I coudn't get a good close up of this motif.

I also added the tatting on the top patch on the geometric fabric.

Have a great day everyone!
