May Great Stash Bash kit!!

Yay!  We made it to May!!  May is an amazing month for me each year and I really look forward to it! Of course there is NSD and it's also the birthday month for Sketch N Scrap which I co-founded 8 years ago!! All those festivities kick off tomorrow at Sketch N Scrap so make sure and follow us on Facebook and the blog!!  Today's it's a new month so that means it's time to launch Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash 2020 kit for May!!
For those who are new to the challenge here is how it works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lori's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!
Now for our May challenge:
This month we will create a kit with 10 papers (seven papers 3 years or older & three newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, 4 embellishments (three that are 3 years or older & one newer one), and some FLOWERS!!
Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash!  We also hope you will help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
Here are the rules:
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2020
Here is the kit I created using the May prompts:

I am loving these colors this month, I'm in a bright colored mood with a splash of grey/black!
Here is a close up of the older papers:
These papers are from the following collections: Elle's Studio Live, Laugh, Love (4), Bella Blvd Family Dynamix (2) and Bella Blvd Sweet, Sweet Spring (purple). I only had this one Sweet Sweet Spring Paper and was glad to see it coordinates well with the Elle's Studio papers!
Here are my newer papers:
These papers are from Simple Stories Oh Happy Day line (yellow), Pebbles Chasing Adventures (red), and Dear Lizzy She's Magic (pink).
Here are the scraps I picked...as you can see one I spilled water on, so not sure the end is able to be salvaged!
None of my scraps had branding strips on them, so I am not sure what lines they are from!  I think the yellow is from Bo Bunny and the reds are from My Mind's Eye, Scenic Route (wow! So old) & Echo Park
Here are my embellishments:

The new embellishment is Pink Pasilee Horizons Thickers, flowers are from Basic Grey (another oldie but goodie) and the older 3 embellishments are from Elle's Studio!! I love all these fun embellishments and hope to use a lot of them this month!!
I hope you will be inspired to dig through your stash this month and play along with myself and Lori as we endeavor to bash some stash in 2020!!  If you chose to play along make sure and link up below, we'd love to see what you have put together for a kit & what you create with it!  Happy creating friends!

Sketch N Scrap's Slice of Summer Crop

Happy Monday!! I hope your weekend was super productive!  Mine sure was, got to have some crafty time with friends and enjoyed creating a few cards and a few layouts!  The Sketch N Scrap Slice of Summer crop is still going on over on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page and it was my turn to host Challenge #3!!

The challenge is to create a card using this amazing card sketch by Heather:

Here is my card using this sketch:
Supplies Used: card base: CTMH; Card stock: Stampin' Up- Basic Black, Pear Pizzaz, Pale Plum; Ink: CTMH Black; embossing folder: CTMH Rose; Dies: CTMH- Hearts; Stamp: CTMH- Inspired Words; stickers: (strips & sentiment) Basic Grey Kioshi

I love how this card turned out!!  I had stamped this heart a while ago while playing around with my new Inspired Words stamp set by Close to My Heart...who would have thought it matched these stickers lying in my BASHKET pile!!!  I knew once I saw this sketch that I would use these old Basic Grey border stickers as they would fit in with the sketch and also check off 3 things from my bash it basket/list!!  So I started searching for a flower to match the stickers and had a hard time finding one (I know hard to believe!)...so I switched courses to substitute the flower in the sketch for another shape and lo and behold when I searched my shape box I found this heart and it matched my stickers!!  I no longer have any of the Kioshi paper from Basic Grey so I had to improvise with cardstock that matched the stickers and decided to give my cardstock some flair by embossing it with my all time favorite ROSE embossing folder from Close to My Heart!!  I ended up using FOUR items from my bash it pile on this one card! YAY!  I can see myself using this sketch again, it is very versatile!  I hope it inspire you to play along with us at the Sketch N Scrap Slice of Summer crop!  All 4 challenges are now posted and you have until August 31st to play along with us!! Happy creating and see you at the crop!

Thinking of You- Sketch N Scrap card sketch #93

Hello crafters! I am so happy to share our first card sketch of the month with you today!  This fun sketch is by Heather and is one I know you will want to use over and over again!

Here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Very Vanilla by Stampin' Up; Ink: Watermelon Wonder & Pool Party by Stampin' Up; Stamp Set: Flower Shop & Four You by Stampin' Up; Punch: Stampin' Up; enamel dots: My Mind's Eye; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Hillside

I was gifted these papers around Christmas time and it made me realize how much I miss Basic Grey! These colors are so fun and I love the smaller patterns of the 6x6 pads for card making! I plan on using this fun sketch again with stars instead of flowers next time! The possibilities on this sketch are truly endless!  I hope you will find time to play along with us this month at Sketch N Scrap and don't forget to hop on over the Sketch N Scrap blog to check out what the other DT members did with the sketch!

Sketch N Scrap #100

I am so excited to share our March 1st sketch with you today!!!  Today's sketch is our 100th sketch at Sketch N Scrap!  Wow!  100 layout sketches, hard to imagine!  I would never have thought it possible on the that day almost 4 years ago when I designed our 1st ever sketch!  I am so blessed to work with such amazing and crazy talented sketch artists at Sketch N Scrap!
Here is my sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

Supplies Used:  Cardstock: Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Bowties; letter stickers:
Basic Grey; stickers: Basic Grey Bowties; punches: star by McGill & large star by Paper Shapers

I am so sad to see that Basic Grey is no longer going to be making a paper line!!  This inspired me to dig into my Basic Grey stash for this layout!  I love these colors and have to say this is one of my favorite lines of theirs.  This is my son back in 1st grade, his car won first place at the Derby!!  It was very exciting!  What a great memory to capture!  My journaling is on the back but if you don't use such big letters you could certainly fit it under your title...I just couldn't resist using these cute letters!  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the other DT members did with the sketch, there is TONS of inspiration and I know it will inspire you to play along for a chance to win our awesome prize for March, plus we have some other surprises up our sleeve....in honor of our 100th sketch debut we are having NINE challenges for you this month, you won't want to miss it, inspiration galore!!!  Happy creating!

Mix it up!

Good morning everyone!  I'm here today sharing my last layout for my stint as design team member for Lori Brown's CTMH team.  I had so much fun being part of this great team, but as they say all good things must come to an end.  This month I decided to mix it up a bit....after all it's a New Year, so for this layout I used a mix of papers from different lines.  Here is my layout:
Supplies Used: Cardstock: Basic Grey; Patterned Paper: CTMH Tommy, Surf's Up & Pro Player;
chipboard: Basic Grey Hey Boy; star: CTMH Pro Player; stamp: CTMH Pro Player
scrapbooking kit; ink: Night of Navy by Stampin Up; quote tag: My Mind's Eye;
journaling tag: Chic Tags; punches: Stampin Up; letters: rub ons by Making Memories.

I was able to mix three wonderful lines from CTMH : Tommy and ProPlayer, which are two awesome masculine lines and the third line Surf's Up, which is retired.  I was also able to use up a few embellishments from my stash which I thought coordinated great with these lines, the quote from My Mind's Eye I had had in my stash for years, plus I used up some chipboard embellishments from Basic Grey as well as some really old rub on letters.  I do like the look of rub ons, but they are a bit hard to work with when you haven't had practice with them for a while.  This is one of my favorite pictures of my son at 4, I just love his smile in this picture and it is fun to see him in a suit and tie, since nowadays he would NEVER let himself be caught wearing a suit and tie!!!  How times change! lol!  If you are looking for some fun new products or any masculine papers I would highly recommend either of these lines (ProPlayer or Tommy).   If you are so inclined to do some shopping then don't forget to visit Lori's CTMH store and click on the link Lisa's My Creative Endeavors sent me!  Happy crafting!

Sketch N Scrap #45

Is everyone ready for Christmas?  I'm ready to get my shopping started, yes, I said "started!"...I haven't done much shopping yet, thinking this year will be one of those marathon Black Friday shopping sprees where I complete my list in less then 24 hours!  Wish me luck!  Our last layout sketch for November is up at Sketch N Scrap today!  This sketch by Kelly is sure to get your creative juices flowing!

I decided to get in the Christmas spirit and create a Christmas layout:
Supplies used: Cardstock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Basic Grey Jovial; stickers:
Basic Grey Jovial, My Mind's Eye Be Merry; Letters: American Craft Thickers & Paper
Trunk; ribbon: Little Yellow Bicycle; bling & pearls: Kaisercraft; faux stitching: Doodlebug

These pictures of my son, niece and nephew together right before opening gifts were so fun, I was excited to scrap them.  We had to bribe them to take a few good pictures and not let them open their gifts until said pictures were taken!  I'm trying it again this year, it worked so well last year!  I hope you will have time to join us at Sketch N Scrap this month and play along with one of our sketches!  It's easy to play along, just create a card or layout from one of our sketches and link it up by November 30th for a chance to win at $25 gift certificate to Kiwi Lane Designs our awesome November sponsor!

Have a happy Scrappy weekend my friends!
