January 5th card sketch @ Sketch N Scrap!

Happy  Hump Day!! Today we launched the first card sketch of the new month and the New Year at Sketch N Scrap!!
Here is the sketch created by yours truly:

Here is the card I created with the sketch:

I used only scraps from three past kits at The ScrapRoom to make this card and I love how it turned out!  This birdie is so adorable and I love the way these papers mixed together from a variety of manufacturers to create a beautiful card!  I made my own tag with the tag corner punch from Stampin' Up and then circle punches to make my own hole reinforcer out of black cardstock.  Make sure and hop on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog and check out what the other DT members did with the sketch!!  Happy creating!

It felt great to use up some scraps, still trying to keep my scrap bin under control on a regular basis to avoid it overflowing!! Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash ~ February Recap!!

Happy Sunday!! Wow, this month flew by!!  Of course since it is a short one so that was a contributing factor!!  I wanted to pop in to post a recap of what I was able to accomplish with my February Great Stash Bash kit!

Here is a reminder of the February Stash Bash kits (for this month I created two mini kits):

Here are the cards I created with this month's kit:

These cards were all created with the kit and a few scraps I had on my desk!  I created them all for a Valentine's Day Swap I was in!!  I hope the recipients liked them!  I included some fun stickers and washi tape from Paper House Productions in the cards.  I had a lot of fun making these!  As you can see I started the month out strong, but unfortunately we had an EPIC Winter storm here in Texas and I lost power and water for almost a week.  I am fine now and have recovered with minimal damage but there are so many who were not as lucky...but needless to say that put an end to my crafting time and I am just getting some crafty time today after 2 weeks without any!!   So I did not get the 2 layouts completed that I had planned on doing with this kit, but I have been busy today planning my kit for March and I am hopeful for a better month next month!!  Even though I had a lot of my kit left over I am hopeful that later this year I can circle back around to this one! Stay tuned as tomorrow I will be posting my March Stash Bash kit!!   I hope you have a blessed end to your month, happy creating!!

Close ups of each card:

Supplies Used: cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White- Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: All My Heart-Elle's Studio; stickers: Bee My Valentine- Paper House Productions; black pen- Pentel

I just loved these adorable stickers by Paper House Productions!  I used up scraps from various past Valentine's Day kits on these cards!! It felt good to use up some scraps and also to make a slight dent in my stash of Valentine's Day papers!  I have been avoiding buying more Valentine's Day paper until my stash is slightly less and I think next year I will treat myself to a new collection for Valentine's Day!  Yay!  I hope you have a blessed day with and get time with your special Valentine today!  Happy creating!

Kill a kit ~ August edition!!!

Happy Friday!!  Today I am sharing my newest challenge I am hosting over at The ScrapRoom Facebook Group!  I have been on the DT at The ScrapRoom since 2017 and have as a result accumulated a lot of kits!  I have enjoyed each and every one of them! They are filled with the latest and greatest scrappy supplies!  Each month I end up with a few left overs and usually I just put them in a drawer and move on to the next kit...BUT....now my drawer is FULL!!! Yikes!  So I decided to host a challenge each month at The ScrapRoom to encourage other ladies in the same position as myself to "kill" a kit each month!!  So here is my kit I am going to "kill" in August:
Kits included in this kit: July 2020 PhotoPlay Just Stay Home; August 2019 Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; February 2002 Echo Park It's Your Birthday; March 2020 Echo Park I Love Spring; October 2019 Amy Tangerine Slice of Life; and May 2019 American Crafts Sparkle City!!

Here are the projects I have created so far using this kit:
Layout created using the August Kill a Kit- from details see my post HERE

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Just Stay Home & Echo Park I love Spring (flowers); sticker (bike): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl; stamp: CTMH Life is a A Journey; ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise

Supplies Used: Carstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl & PhotoPlay Let's Stay Home; Ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; stamp: CTMH BIrthday Greetings; sticker (cupcake): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl

Supplies Used: cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White; Patterned Paper: PhotoPlay Let's Stay Home (yellow stripe), My Mind's Eye (blue circle) & Echo Park I love Spring (flowers); sticker (telephone): Echo Park Teen Spirit Girl, ink: Stampin' Up Tempting Turquoise; stamp: CTMH Random Acts of Cardness; die: Stampin' Up stitched circle

I have not even used up all the kit yet, it is really yielding a lot of projects! I think I can get another layout and a few more cards out of what I have left so stay tuned to see the end of the kit by the end of this month!!  This just goes to show how well all The ScrapRoom kits combine together even those that are a year or more apart!!  I love the bright color palette of these cards/layout and I was also able to ink up a few stamps I had never used!  I think this is going to be a great challenge to keep the scrap pile under control!  I am already thinking of what kits I can use for next month!  Make sure and join us in The ScrapRoom Facebook Group to play along and to see what the other gals did with their kits!  Happy creating!

Sketch N Scrap card sketch #174

Happy Monday! I hope you had an amazingly creative weekend!  I am doing some reorganizing in my craft room so I worked on that as well as my projects this weekend.  Today we have our last sketch of the month up at Sketch N Scrap! It's hard to believe this month is winding down, it went by so quickly!!  Here is the fun card sketch that sketch artist Heather created for us:

Here is my card using the sketch:

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Whisper White - Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Pebbles Girl Squad; flower: Pebbles Girl Squad; ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; stamp: CTMH  Life is a Journey

I have been hoarding this paper to long and when I was reorganizing I came across this big flower and knew it was perfect for this sketch so I dug out my Pebbles Girl Squad 6 x 6 paper pad and created this card in just a few minutes! I also had never used this stamp set called Life is a Journey by CTMH and I am not sure why because it is super cute!! So it was long overdue for me to ink it up!!! I love how fast this card came together using this sketch!  I plan to make another card or two with it before the month is up, it's super versatile!!  I hope you will find time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month.  Make sure and head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see how the DT is using this awesome sketch!  Happy creating!
