Happy Monday!

Today, I'm a guest designer at Love to Create.  There is a color challenge this week and 2 sponsors QKR Stampede and Wing and Willows.

I chose a digital image from QKR Stampede called Pumpkin Vine.  Thought it would be perfect for this color challenge.

Here is the color inspiration picture:

Here is my card:

Sketch Saturday Challenge #275

I'm so excited - I'm hosting Sketch Saturday this week!  The sponsor is Mabelle RO from Whimsy and Stars Studios and she is generously offering 4 MRO digis to one lucky participant in this week's challenge.
Studio Homepage
Also, our guest designer this month is my friend Laura - Yay!  I love her clean style and beautiful coloring.

Lastly, I designed the sketch this week!  Here it is SS275:

This is what I was thinking when I created the sketch.  Mainly the center panel being recessed and embossed - or maybe a patterned paper that is stitched around the perimeter.  I went the recessed and embossed route, to make the layered frame I used my Cricut mini.
Mabelle generously offered the design team some Fall images to work with.  I was thrilled to see "It's Fall" back in her shop - one of my many favorites.
I thought adding a woodgrain to the letters would be a great detail.  I thought about paper-piecing the letters with woodgrain paper.  In the end, I opted to print the image twice, color the letters then stamp with a woodgrain background stamp from A|Muse Studios.  I cut the stamped letters out and paper-pieced them on the colored image.

Supplies --
Image: MRO "It's Fall"
Stamp: A|Muse woodgrain background
Patterned Papers: Simple Stories Harvest Lane
Cardstock: PTI Dark Chocolate and Canyon Clay
Ink: PTI Dark Chocolate
Copic Colors: E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, YR12, YR15, YR18, YR21, YR23, YR24, BG10, BG72, R37, R89, YG91, YG93, YG95
Ribbon: PTI Pure Poppy
Cuttlebug and pumpkin embossing folder

Mabelle RO - Pilgrims

I have a Thanksgiving card today and the image is from Mabelle RO - Pilgrims.  The patterned cardstock is PaperTrey Fall prints and patterns. The base cardstock is PTI Terracotta Tile.

I used a new die Stitched Stacking Mats from Lil' Inkers Designs.  I'm really liking this die, a great alternative to getting the sewing machine out.

Mabelle RO: Blessed Harvest

Happy Monday!

This is a great Fall image of Mabelle's called Blessed Harvest.  It is one of my favorites that came out last year.  The papers are Simple Stories "Harvest Lane" a favorite Fall release this year.
This is a layered image.  I printed out the image twice, colored the background on the base image, then colored, cut out and layered the second image on the base.

The layout is based on the following sketch, a challenge at Raise the Bar.  I turned it on its side and moved the heart (or bow) element to the other side.

Mabelle RO: Autumn Angel

Today, Mabelle has a new release.  This is Autumn Angel.  Isn't she sweet.

I used a new technique on the background.  Shelby has a couple awesome video tutorials on her blog.  You can see it HERE.  Essentially you use a q-tip and 0 {Zero} reinker and go over the background, then apply the color with a q-tip too.  I did this for the sky and the grass.

The image was cut out and layered on the background.  The sunflower is popped.

Supplies --

{TAC} Post 4: Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

...a day early.  This was my Thanksgiving card this year.  I used the TAC set "Contemporary Greetings" -- so love this set.  Perhaps it will available again soon.  I hope so.

This was a super simple card to mass produce.  The leaves are a new Shapeabilities die called Foliage.

I stamped the greeting on the PTI Kraft cardstock, then positioned the die and ran it thru my Grand Calibur machine.
Behind the cutout I positioned 3"x4" piece patterned paper, K&Company {Best of K&Co 360 page paper stack}.  I put 4 pop dots on the back of the kraft cardsock around the cut out then held it over the piece of patterned paper, positioned it and pressed down.  Added 4 more pop dots to the corners and attached it to the base card (Bazzill Ruby Red).

Here is another version I made for the homebound ministry...

Amber Ink: Time to Leaf iPaper

Today, I have some new Fall ipapers to show off for Amber Ink.  This is "Time to Leaf - Goldenrod".  If it is not already available - it will be soon.

Amber Ink has great digital papers. They are high resolution and the detail and colors are brilliant when print on your home printer.   Love the colors of this paper, really wonderful Fall colors.  There 3 more color palettes available in this leaf pattern.
I cut some of the leaves out from the paper and a added them to the sentiment with some coordinating buttons.

Biblical Impressions: Pumpkin Patch

Happy Sunday,

The Biblical Impressions image I'm featuring today is called Pumpkin Patch.  Patterned papers are from the best of K&Company paper stack.

I was asked how the stitching was done on my Oct 12th post, so I created this card to show stitching.

I use a foam mat (yellow), paper piercer and plastic mesh canvas.  This was a tip I picked up from an angel several years ago.
I line up the mesh with my cardstock.
Then I pierced the cardstock using the mesh to guide my spacing.
This is a nice look.
Or add thread.
Instead of stitching you could also use this technique to create a dot border using a gel pen.
Copic: YR15, YR18, YR24, YG93, YG95, YG97, E55, E57, E59
Memento black ink, Pastel and Earth Tone Chalks

Hope you enjoy today's card.
Happy Sweetest Day!

{TAC} Oct. Blog Hop: We LOVE Mabelle R.O.

Happy Saturday!

Today we are having a {TAC} Blog Hop, the theme is any Mabelle RO image (rubber) which appeared in a TAC catalog.  I used Lucy, which was in the 2010 Fall Supplement.  This was my 1st chance using it!

I chose to do a very simple layout and focus on the coloring of this cutie.  I love to cut portions of an image out to create interest.  I don't love that I cut Lucy's ear in the process {sigh}.
Copic Colors: Pumpkin YR15, YR18, YR24, Acorn, E30, E31, E55, E57, E59, Ground YG93, YG95, YG97, Dress B41, B45, B37, Lucy W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, RV00, RV02

We would love it if you joined our hop.  Please use a Mabelle RO image (rubber), post on your blog and link in using the link below and the full extension of your blog post.  This hop will be open for a few days (ends Oct 18th at 11 pm) and there will be a chance win blog candy! {Thanks Mabelle!}

Be sure to visit all the chicks:

Hope you enjoy the Mabelle R.O. hop!

August Card Club Set ~ Happy Leaf

Today's post features the August Card Club Set - Happy Leaf.  During August this hostess set is available for $4.50 with a $30 purchase.

All the monthly card club sets are in the new catalog on pages 6-10.  Look for the balloon next to the name, this is the month the set will be available for purchase.

This card was inspired by a technique Mischelle posted on her blog.  It uses VersaMark ink and chalks.  I stamped the leaves on birch cardstock and went over the leaves with Earth Tone chalks, greens and browns.

I used Nestabilities die #16 for the birthday wishes - it is cut in half.  The patterned paper is Willoughby SWIC.

Supplies -- Stamp: Happy Leaf, Papers: Birch cardstock, Willoughby SWIC, Earth tone chalks, VersaMark ink, VersaMagic Jumbo Java, Nestabilities #16

Hope you enjoy the rest of the ideas on Savvy Projects Blog.
