Black Luna Nail Lacquer!

Hello Everyone!!  I'm so happy we got our power back yesterday after the storm on Monday!  It was a quick storm, but it effected a lot of towns!  Many didn't have power like us, and I'm just thankful we were only out of power for a day! Sometimes bad storms put us out a lot longer!  After driving yesterday, I saw a lot of trees uprooted!  It is quite scary!  Below is a couple blocks away.  I just ask that you keep those with damage in your thoughts and prayers!  I'm feeling very fortunate to not have had any devastation from the storm!

Isn't it amazing what nature can do with a quick little burst of wind?  On a lighter note, I'm so excited to share some Black Luna Nail Lacquer swatches with you today!  I was sent these for review and it was my first time trying this brand.  I love the colors I was sent and the formula was great for all three!

You can purchase Black Luna Nail Lacquer at http://blacklunalacquer.storenvy.com/ and also can stay up to date on Facebook and Instagram - @blacklunalacquer.

First up, we have Comet.

For Comet, I used 2 coats along with Wicked Fast by Cult Nails.

What a perfect creation in time for the 4th of July!!  I absolutely love the white squares in this too!  I like that it has a hint of sheerness to see them.

Next up, Bright Lights Holo Top Coat.

I was feeling like an office type mani, with a bit of sparkle.  I started with 2 coats of OPI Barefoot in Barcelona.

I then added 1 coat of Bright Lights.  My light box doesn't play nice with holo :-(

So I used the bedroom lighting.  I'm sorry it makes my skin look crazy, but look at that HOLO!!

I wore this to work for meetings and couldn't stop staring at my nails while typing. hehe

A beautiful holo top coat!  If you don't have one of these, I highly recommend it!  It makes any polish holo by layering it.  Part of the fun is finding new combos!  I really love these two together and will be wearing them again!

Close up - light box!

Last, but not least, we have Forbidden Fruit.

For Forbidden Fruit, I used 2 coats along with Wicked Fast by Cult Nails.

What a gorgeous neon green!  And the name is too cute.  Again, my light box didn't really play nice with the gorgeous holo glitters in this!

Here is the bedroom lighting to show off the sparkles!

Close up!

I hope you enjoyed this look at Black Luna Lacquer!  I am so glad I had the opportunity to try these!  Her shop has lots of beautiful creations, so I recommend checking it out!  In case you missed above, you can purchase Black Luna Nail Lacquer at http://blacklunalacquer.storenvy.com/ and also can stay up to date on Facebook and Instagram - @blacklunalacquer.

Cult Nails - Let's Get Nekkid

My beauties arrived yesterday!! I hurried home from work, and to my surprise, the sun was out!! It's been a little dreary lately, so it was nice to finally see some rays!! I got to swatching like I've never swatched before!!

If you could have seen me, I was scrambling around like a crazy person!! I dropped my Get It On base coat brush, spilled acetone all down my pants (a little on the floor but we plan to get carpet anyway-oops!), and even chased the sun to get some pictures. I'd say it it was worth it though, because wait until you see these polishes! No top costs were used!! And all bases were 1 coat of Get It On Base Coat. I was in a hurry, so these are extremely quick swatches!!

Mazo is a light beige color with amazing gold shimmer. It matches my skin pretty well, but I love the extra little something the shimmer does for it. I honestly didn't think it would work for me, but I love it. I used 3 coats for the pictures. You can slightly see my nail line, and usually VNL (visible nail line) makes me crazy, but with this, I hardly noticed it!! I personally love that it's sheer so I can start having some layering fun!! :-)

Baker reminds me of a lighter version of butterscotch. I mean I halfway expected like it to smell like those butterscotch chips for baking! Haha but it also contains that gorgeous gold shimmer that really keeps the color from looking flat or boring. It is beautiful! I used 2 coats (the second one was a bit thick) and had some VNL but again, didn't mind. I'm sure if you didn't like that, 3 would be probably be opaque.

Tulum is a delicious milk chocolate color with gold shimmer/glitter. The gold almost floats through it like sprinkled in fairy dust. It is very beautiful and has a nice creamy finish to it! I used 2 coats for these photos. Again, my second coat was a little thick.  I missed the sun for this one, but I do have a comparison with Power Thief for you!

Comparison!

Swanbourne is a dark chocolate color with a similar gold shimmer/glitter to Tulum. I love the contrast of this one with my skin!! And Maria's story about this one touched me the most! You can find that and all of the stories HERE. Since I was going quickly through the colors, I slapped on one thick coat of this and I think it looks pretty good! I maybe would do two if I was doing a full mani for the day, but maybe with a nice coat of TC, you could get away with one! I didn't have the TC on and I think it still looks great!!

And last but not least, we have the limited edition Toxic Seaweed!! Where to start with the color...hmmm...well it's stunning, that's for sure! It is a green jelly that is packed with dark green and gold glitter and tiny flakie pieces that shine mostly orange and red (at certain angles you can catch the green!). The flakies peek through and in combination with the jelly and glitter, make this one unique polish for my collection!! I can't wait to use this for layering as well! I used 2 coats for the picture, the second coat a tad thicker to even it out. I would let this color dry between coats so that you don't get cuticle drag or problems covering you tips. It is a bit thick, but not too the point that it is hard to work with.   Oh and I still love that Maria called this the nude for ET - LOL.

Overall, this collection has truly blown me away. And to think, I hesitated to order because I thought the two lightest colors would be too sheer! I almost like those the best! I hardly wear nude polish, but I always think the colors look so lovely. I'm so glad to have added these to my collection. It's time that I start getting Nekkid!!! Oh dear, I mean my nails of course!!!! Hehehe

I hope you enjoyed a look at this collection!! Sorry I missed the sun photos for Tulum! Hopefully you can *imagine* it :-)

I bought the collection through a pre-sale for $40, which has ended now.  The individual bottles will be up for sale on Sunday, February 12 (pick up your Toxic Seaweed before it's gone!) for $10 each.  In order to receive the Cult Nails newsletter and to receive info when the sale is live, register HERE.

Have a great day!  Hope you enjoyed this extremely pic heavy post!! ;-)

Much Love,
Crystal
