SHOPPING AT POTTERY BARN

Lord y'all....I am in the weeds and trying to dig out but I feel like I am using a spoon instead of a shovel....haha.

I am putting together a whole house and trying to find something IN STOCK is impossible.  Seriously the "supply chain" is gone and  NO ONE HAS INVENTORY!

I am getting lead times like 16-18 weeks!

What the actual heck?  Helppppppppp!

I mean I have looked at all the usual vendors that I use and even moved on to "big box" vendors that I usually only use for accessories!

Excuse me while I have a "hissy fit"......

Anyway......I was desperate and jumped on to Pottery Barn.  Hmmmmm.....I did find a few things I liked as far as furniture goes so I thought I would share!

Let's start with coffee tables....I love every one of these and could get to styling them up!

Here are 2 more that struck my fancy!
Y'all know I love some texture and of course this white one has my name on it....

Next up are table lamps....thoughts?  Those iron ones are pretty amazing.....and of course I have used the glass ones.

I love these black jar lamps also.

Next up are pillows.....The thing is.... I like to use the solid ones and then add some "pow" fabric mixed in!

#designertip

The first ones are wonderful linen and I use them all the time!

What actually started the search was a quest for a black bed which I found but it is just a little to "farmhousy" for this project.

But.....check out some of these other great beds!

Loving this black nightstand but it is just a little too distressed for this project.  Damn.

Whats a girl to do?  Who wants to wait 5 months for a sofa....I am not kidding!  And stores that sell off the floor are suddenly NOT......because they can't get more merchandise.  Uh Huh....truth.

On the one hand I have plenty of design business but on the other had I am looking at them.....scared to say uh......I can get this for you in 2022.

And then duck as they throw something at me or punch me in the face.

I did order this cute bed from CB2 which they say will be here in late May.....we shall see!

And this great mirror [CB2] for  over a foyer chest which WAS IN STOCK!  Whoa....give me a bullhorn so I can shout it to the world!

Haha....the person before me probably bought the last one.

Anyway the struggle is real people.....designers everywhere are going crazy.  Include me on that statement.

Shacrazy [but that is not news]

MADISON PROJECT

Man....I have no words about what is happening in the world right now.  I am not even sure I should post about something as frivolous as design....while this country is in mourning. I apologize if I am being disrespectful  to anyone.

I know that I...being white.... can not fully understand..... I have not walked their path but I have so much empathy when I hear their cries for justice.  And.... I have learned something everyday as I have read and  listened to what they are saying.

You will never stop learning when you open your heart.

I did go to Madison on Saturday afternoon and y'all it was a much needed break....even if only for 24 hours.  It's so unbelievably peaceful there.

I had received the faux olive tree I ordered from Crate and Barrel.  I had looked everywhere for a container that I thought would be perfect.  Finally I was at Pikes [a local nursery here in Atlanta] and found the perfect one!

I might thin it out a little when I go back.....but over all it's a pretty good faux.  The rocks came from Michaels.

I thought I would start with the very beginning....this is how it looked when they bought it!

I suggested to paint it dark....

Look at the right and you will see the porch.  The porch became a dining room and family room after the renovation.  Another porch was built to connect it to a new quest suite.

The doors on the left were added to the master bedroom.

You can see the new porch on the far right.

The new guest suite.

Off to the far left where the barn is..... was converted to another guest suite.

On the other side of the barn is a  whole field of wildflowers....

I don't really want to share this but we went for a trail walk and of course I was talking about ticks the whole time!  I am such a weenie.....well wouldn't you know......about an hour after the walk I felt something bite me and I looked down to see 3 ticks on my ankle.

I was able to brush the 2 smaller ones away but one had already sunk it's teeth in me and I started screaming and hopping around like a 12 year old.  Anne went straight into "mom mode" "saying give me your leg Sherry".....with clenched teeth.  She grabbed that sucker and ripped it off my ankle and y'all....I was shaking.  I told her when I got home that night I had PTSD....and she told me "to get over it"....haha.

She also called me a "city slicker"....sometime she can be annoying.

The back of the house....that is the screen porch connecting the guest area.

The furniture used in the barn.

It is almost finished....but I do love how it is coming together.  I went with the olive tree instead of the fig because I thought the green of the fig would be too bright for the space.

I ordered this bench from CB 2 and y'all its amazing.  The fabric matched perfectly!

Still waiting for the bed sham fabric from Schumacher.  It was due in May and now it has been moved to August....
Black and white art from Jenn Balcos Gallery....

Charles Stewart chairs.  Circa lighting floor lamps.

That's it for now.....You can read the journey of this project by searching Madison on the blog.

As always thanks for reading and thanks for all of your support:)

PROJECT BOULDER BEFORE AND AFTER PART 5

Could someone drag out a reveal more than I can....I want to meet them and we will have a "blog reveal" dance off:)

Here we are on part 5....the rest of the story....well kinda.

Last up was the kitchen and dining area....so let's get to the living room.

Here is a before shot of the entrance

And the living room right off the entrance

You can see that the dining room steps up in the opening on the right.  That is now the kitchen.

The ceiling of the entrance got opened up and the bay window was replaced.

Kitchen is now in the old dining room area.....

Here is a listing picture that shows how the floor plan really changed.....
Another shot which of course makes it look like there is 20,000 square feet of open space but in reality it's the way the lens captured the space....haha #bowlingalley

How it looked when I got there...love the Schumacher wallpaper!

I'm not gonna lie....it was a big room but I did the best I could filling up the space.  Below is my inspiration board.....

I used the faux tree we got from World Market for the last flip and that helped a little.  The sofa came from WM also.

I tried this coffee table but it was just too much tan with the chairs and poufs.

Chairs and rug are from WM.  The floor lamps are from Target.  Poufs are from CB 2

I kind of boxed myself into a corner using this colorful rug....you know this kind of design throws a #blackandwhite gal into mayhem.  #istruggled

Pillows are from WM also!

Dreaded large blank wall....

Used these in the last flip and decided even though they are texture and we have plenty of it in this space.....up they went:)

Since the wallpaper really acts as art...I did not hang anything over the sofa....

And I thought this coffee table with the white top looked better....

Two more shots from the listing
Really love the Serena and Lily chandy hanging in the foyer!

As much as I would like to finish up the whole thing I am off to a photoshoot early this AM so I have to get Cami walked and slap on some facepaint:)

For the final installment I will have the master bedroom, walk in closet and bathroom and then we will be done.

I'm hanging in there friends......

Shay
