NEW THIBAUT WALLPAPER

OK.....everybody take a huge breath.....it's time for me to take you away from all of this madness!  It's Good Friday and it's all about pretty here at Design Indulgence.

Look....I am as anxious as all of you.  Living alone and trying to find my way..... but the things that have helped me the most have been staying in a routine.  I am so serious about this.....I still get up at 6:00 and make my bed.  Get on the internet.... answer emails and work for about 3 hours.  Then I walk Cami....dump her and go on my own walk for 4 miles.  Shower and get dressed like I'm going to work:)

It makes my life feel a little normal.  I only put the news on at night for a while.

OK....todays glimpse of pretty is brought to you by Thibaut!  I got an email about some of their new patterns starting with the color blue.

These are some of their new patterns shown in the blue colorway.....

As you know Pantone has picked blue as their color of the year!

Blue has proved to stand the test of time over the years.....it's pretty classic and timeless.

And just a little pretty black and white for ya!

You know whats crazy.....I have actually done a little cooking....whoa....simmer down.  Just soup but still my cooktop was involved.

I looked in my pantry and fridge.... I had 2 cans of beans and some kale.  I googled what to make with those ingredients and  found this recipe.

Of course I had to make it a moment.....hee haw.

I did tweak it a little....added more lemon than the recipe called for and more salt and pepper but dang it was good.

I will leave you with this funny....

And Cami says Hi:)

Hope you all have a blessed easter.  We can do this people....I feel like it is maybe 1/2 over.  In fact on Sunday...take a shower....wash your hair and put on your Sunday best!

Stay positive
Stay hopeful
Stay in the moment.

You are all amazing.

A LESSON ON COLOR

Y'all I have a little news to share today.  I was afraid to speak about it cause....I wanted to make sure I wouldn't end up with egg on my face....literally..... because with WW you eat a lot of eggs and I'm already sick of them but that is a whole other story.

Back in February I flew up to NYC with Michael Ladisic [Ladisic Fine Homes] to meet with the team at House Beautiful.....

Yes..... let that sink in a minute.

You know...just a National Design Magazine

Instead of doing a Kitchen of the Year they are doing a whole house and picked Atlanta and then Michael to build it.  And he just kind of slid me in.

I'm such a goober....I didn't see anyone else taking pictures of their name tag:)

We had a tour of the Hearst Building.....

We were at the very top here....

Agenda....

It was an epic day for sure....there we were..... and across the table...... Sophie Donelson [the editor] and her team.   Lord I couldn't even speak....which will surprise all of my friends:)

"The Whole Home Project Concept House celebrates living with wellness and technology.  From a kitchen designed to make you healthier, to an entryway and garage organized to eliminate clutter and promote calmness, to every space around and in-between"

So excited to be a part of the team....but then amongst all the chatter I heard the word "color"**sound of scratching record**

Huh?  Do they know me?  Cause....

But in all honesty why am I surprised?  HB is known for their colorful pages.  I started to sweat...."Sherry can you do color?"  Um of course I can "color is my middle name....I was raised on color....I eat sleep breath color"

Clearing my throat.....meekly.....sure.

Fast forward to my first [key word here] go around with the bedroom.

Blush and blue gray....This is color to me:)  Apparently not to HB.

And then the family room....

I fell hard for these colors in this Thibaut fabric!

It was a beat down....but hey in all honesty to a person who has white floors and white walls this IS color....hee haw.

And to be totally transparent....they did like it....at least that is what they told me.....[snickering in the background] but just not enough color.  So I said "do you mean like yellows, gold, teal, corals?"

Uh huh....yep that IS what they meant.  HB does not play when you are talking color......now I was sweating.  It's like a person who does recreational drugs compared to someone who is a full blown addict.

So you can see I will have to think outside my neutral box to get this job done.  I think an interventionist or a hypnotist might be on the horizon.

Oh yes and speaking of Weight Watchers.....I'm hungry y'all.  I want some butter.  I'm tired of eggs...bacon....and fruit.  There is a lot of food planning involved.  I asked my sister how long we have to do this and she said.....what do you mean....it's forever.

FOREVER....What?  Not too sure about that.  We need to talk.

MANUEL CANOVAS

Are you afraid of color?  I am kinda.  I mean I'm pretty much over the whole "Restoration Hardware....everything in flax linen" kind of look.

Don't get me wrong....it can be done right but there has to be gobs of texture to keep it from looking flat.

When I first started in the "bizness" of design...of there was color alright.  Red dining room....yellow kitchens....navy den, green family rooms and so on.

ALL in one house I might add.

We have evolved.  We studied.  We changed.

Color needs neutrals to ground it.  I love using a deep gray or taupe wall with a really colorful fabrics.

Here is a perfect example using fabric.

All this color against the taupe.  A perfect combination to me....

This fabric is from Manuel Canovas new line.

I am about to brighten your world here so put your sunglasses on....

In your face color....

Oh mommie.....

Colorgasim.

Then I saw this pattern....and I immediately wanted a skirt, hairband, and purse made out of it.

Yeah.  We used to dress like that when I was young.  My Mom would do me right with the whole setup.

3 more patterns from the collection.

Gah....

Somebody let me paint a room this color please.....

It is a simply stunning collection....

Just cause it was pretty....

I saw this beautiful piano makeover on Lane's blog the other day.

It blew me away....

Ok Friday...do your thing.  Go fast....so we can ease into this Sat gig.

My gutters are coming today....yeah who knew you could get excited about that but I am.  Dark bronze.
