BEFORE AND AFTER

Well hello strangers....

I know.  In fact I have run into people who have mentioned they weren't receiving my blog and I thought...."well maybe that is because I am a loser" and I have been very lazy.

I blog all the time in my head at night...literally whole conversations with y'all and then.... well morning....and my ADD sets in....and all hell breaks loose.

So instead of sitting here and making excuses like I am a six year old and did not do my homework how about I just get on with it:)

Before I went to Highpoint [first time since 2019] I did an install for a long time client.  Her son got engaged and she wanted to freshen up a room over the garage.  It had kind of been a dumping ground of left over furniture [we have all been there] but she was ready to make it nice!

This is the before....we had cleared out everything we weren't using and I picked up these chairs from Scott's.  I was on a quick time frame here so I did not have time to order furniture!  These chairs are well made and actually a copy of a Lee Industries chair I have used many times before.....

We decided on blue and camel...it's classic and timeless and easy to find accessories to go with....right!

I had my rug bring over about 4 different rugs that I pick out and this was a contender but in the end we decided on the one below!

It was a little richer that the other one.....

I found the coffee table off the floor and all the accessories!

I ordered the blinds at Select Blinds just to warm up the space....

She had the sofa already which was definitely a bonus!

There was a desk in the dormer but I wanted to dress that up a little also....

We found an old dining room chair in the attic and I had the seat recovered.

This might be her space now:)

She is a great client....and every time I would send her a picture of something  she would always say OK!  That is why I was able to get it done so fast!

I love what I do so much and when I am done it's like a drug when I get that praise!  I had my trusted and talented Rose with me and I value her opinions so much!  Plus it is so much more fun to do it together!

BEFORE AND AFTER LIVING ROOM AND DINING ROOM

Well.....well....well!  Somebody is actually reading my blog!  You guys were commenting like it was 2014:)

I am so proud of this project and could not be happier that it was published in Southern Homes.  It was a perfect fit for their Before and After issue.

Just to review...... my clients had lived in this house for over 20 years and raised their 3 children there.  It is in a great location and after looking for a new house [with no luck] they decided to do the renovation.

After it was all done there was not one inch that wasn't updated including the whole unbuilt space downstairs adding a bedroom, bath, office another family room, sitting area, 1/2 bath, and gym!

So....today I am showing you the living room/dining room which were 2 rooms before and now have been opened up to one large space.

Right behind the kitchen was the DR

After.....

2 doorways were added into the kitchen/family room.  The bookcases were also taken out.

She opted for a more casual space and the Charles Stewart dining chairs are covered in performance fabric!

One of my favorite things is the makeover of the fireplace including the antique mirror over the mantel.

Before of the living room

As you can see there were doors in-between the DR/LR.  We also changed the windows and got rid of the arches for a more streamline look.

Love this Lee Jofa trim....which helped to define the white curtains from the white walls.....Benjamin Moore White Dove

After.....same direction view.  Circa Lighting fixtures

All upholstery is Charles Stewart.  Paint color Benjamin Moore White Dove.

This became a long room and I wanted to add some of the bookcases back for texture.

I decided to frame them around the sofa.

As I said in the first post we re-used most of the clients art which had been collected over the years from their travels.....

You can see here it is all one space now....

I think this was the day I found this awesome coffee table from Bungalow Classic.

It was perfect for the space.

I really tried to give her a classic look....something that would stand the test of time....using as many of her accessories and such as I could so it would feel like home.

Architect: Linda Macarthur
Builder: Michael Ladisic

I managed to make it through the week without any incidents.....meaning no change of clothes in the middle of the day....hahaha

I did do something stupid like wear new shoes to the Mart one day and now I am sporting ugly blisters on both of my heels....which limits my shoe wearing at this time.

Crikey it's always something.

OK.....here are the three subscriptions!  Please email me with your address!

HOUSE MAKEOVER UPDATES

A little paint, some gutters and new lights have never taken so long......

While not totally finished I do have a few shots to show you  on how things are shaping up around here.  To start off.....I am happy to report that my gutters are working perfectly!

After they were installed last Friday I was giddy.  A short downpour a couple of mornings ago found me standing on the porch just watching those beauties catch the rain....

Then the lights got installed.....and my heart swelled as I fell in love.

This is starting to sound like a romance novel:)

These are from Barn Light Electric.  After I fell very hard....I realized they would blow my budget [I needed 4 of them!] so I started looking for something less expensive.

You need to check them out.....they have some awesome products.

BUT.....a few days later a box arrived.....and there were my lights.

My sister had ordered them for me as a thank you for helping my nephew decorate his apartment!

Just to put it out there....I love my family.  Thanks Sis:)

You can see the dark bronze gutters to the left.  Goes nicely with my paint selection....BM China White.

OK...enough with the lights.

I had this brilliant idea that I wanted something over my garage...some wood to warm it up.  #can'tletitrest

I did a favor for a builder friend of mine and look what he did for me!

Just 3 pieces of wood.....and it made the biggest difference!  Thanks Phil.

Of course more decisions.........he asked me what stain color I wanted and it sent me into a tailspin.  Off to the paint store.  I am still undecided.....leaning towards the one on the far left.....

About as uncertain with the shutter color.  Yeah I know....when I last left you I was "Kendall Charcoal" hands down.  That was a month ago.

They are not painted yet.  My latest obsessions are BM Iron Mountain and Dragons Breath.

Dragons Breath.....

So that is where we stand.  Waiting to get the weeds and bushes pulled away from the fence so I can get it painted along with the shutters.

At the rate I am going it will be September before it is all done!
#slowpoke

Aren't you glad I am not making decisions for you?

Could we be any happier that it's Friday?

Shafrizzyhairgirl......Ah summer.
