NEW PROJECT

SUNDAY....

What a gorgeous day here in Atlanta.....warm temps.....but here comes the pollen.

That yellow stuff that gets in your nose, down your throat and all over everything!

Thanks for all of the great comments on my project last week.  He really loved it and was very appreciative.  It made me feel good that I had the time to knock that one out.

But.....this is another week and that means another project to finish.

I admit that I have been working on this one for a while....but tomorrow is furniture and accessories!

These are the fabrics I am working with.  See..... I can do something besides neutral:)  I mean look....I am using red for Pete's sake!

The curtains have already been installed.
These have been recovered and are being delivered....

2 of these were painted black.  Keeping the seat's like this.

Ha Ha.......Just kidding.
Wallpaper was installed in the foyer...and paint was added to the back of bookshelves.

New light fixture went up....

A few flea market trips....to collect books and such.

Gonna be a long day with 4 bookshelves to style.....that's gonna take some time and brain power.

MONDAY MORNING....

OK....I'm up and getting ready to load the car and run get flowers.
Stay tuned for updates on Instagram [sherryhdesigns] on how this one is going.....

I'm so looking forward to getting all of this out of my living room!

NEW PROJECT

I am back from the "wine country"....no not Napa...but to my amazement Georgia has a smaller version.  When I say small...like 5-6 but hey it is only an hour away in Dahlonega.

We stayed at Mountain Laurel Creek Inn and Spa.  Hello comfort.

Seriously Dennis and David thought of everything.  The beds were so comfortable, breakfast every morning....and the massage was perfect.  I will go back.

We went to 4 wineries...and hands down our favorite was Wolf Mountain Vineyards and Winery.  Good wine and gorgeous setting.  We also hired a taxi for all three days [you know wine tastings!] and spent less then we would have if we had taken the tour bus.  Good to know.  I don't like a tour bus unless I'm with a famous rock star.

Right?

Fun.

I don't want to spend this whole post talking about it but if anyone is interested in the details please email me.....It is only an hour from Atlanta!

Before I left I started working on a new project.  It is a master bedroom and I think I better check with the client before I post a before picture.  You know I lucked out during the ORC being so daring...

Here are a few of the plans I showed her....
The walls are a very dark brown now and the first thing that will happen is to lighten those babies up.  We will do a new headboard and with this one it could be the dark brown velvet or the light blue/gray velvet....

You might be thinking that I am a one trick pony. Always the same colors....but this is what they asked for.  After speaking with the manager of Kravet the other day and she said that these colors are still going strong......I think we can all admit that soft neutrals work well for bedrooms.

Number 2....maybe my favorite.  Besides the bedding we will have a chaise and chair in this room so there is plenty of places for pretty pillows!  I am thinking the brown/taupe velvet for the headboard.

Just in case...I threw together these gray fabrics.  You never know right?

Nice trims for some neutral curtains.

This was the last one.  She emailed me last night with her pick!  Any guesses?

I have been so irresponsible  lately about reading blogs.....too much vacation and out of my routine.  Shame on me.  All it takes is a week and you can be so outdated....then you are having a conversation and someone will say..."whoa girl...chevron is so July".

One more bit of news....I am working with Room Service again this year.  More to come but expect me to be asking for help from my wonderful readers :)

Here are some pictures from my room last year.

NEW PROJECT......

Thank you so much for all the comments about my Patches.  Still no labs back yet and I am about to go Aurora Greenway [Shirley MacLane in Terms of Endearment] on someone at the Vet real soon.

Remember when Emma [Debra Winger] was in the hospital dying and her Mom [Aurora] went all postal on the nursing staff because she wanted them to give her some more pain medication?

Well....if you have not seen that movie then maybe you can watch that part on You Tube.  She is "pissed" and goes screaming to the nurses station creating quite the scene.

That is going to be me if I don't get my info soon......

Just a few things today.

Have you guys been to Angela's blog The painted House????

She called me about a month ago to help with a little "kitchen redo".  Really just to convince her that she was on the right track....uh....yes.

You can read more about it here.

But if you need something to get excited about take a look....
Yep...navy cabinets.  Could you die????

She has taste and style.....

The other day I was over looking at ADAC  and ran across a few killer fabrics.

Ever see something that takes you from 0 to 60 in your brain with crazy ideas....well feast your eyes on a few of these....

Yes...I know.  You had to sit down after seeing this one....

I have seen this one around "blogland"....but that won't stop me from using it!  If I want........

Yep....smashing huh?  And it comes with a lavender background also....can't wait to get the sample.

Love these colors.......

Manuel........your killing me!

I am thinking my LR....after all I do have pink chairs.  If you want to see more pink chairs hop over to Emily's and take a gander at the cuties she posted about today.

I thought this was fun!  Well as fun as a fabric can be......but you know we love us some black and white.....

New Kelly from Lee Jofa.

OK....are you panting yet???

And...just in case you are still thinking about painting your kitchen cabinets....here is a picture of Mandi's over at Interior Design Musings.

The before....

go here to see the fabulous after.  And they aren't white!!!

OK.....it's 2:47 pm and the vet closes at 7 pm.  They don't have much time before they see the worst side of me.

News at 11......Mentally unstable lady get's arrested at Animal Clinic.

Sha frustrated....

Don't get cocky.....

I was pretty full of myself last week.....bragging about how I managed to get 3 post written.  Well this is a lesson on not getting too full of yourself cause look at me now.

Wednesday.  5 days of nothing.  Yep....not feeling too cocky now.  The truth of the matter is I might have just a few too many "irons in the fire" as they say.

I'm not complaining, but between you and me....I think those clothes are STILL in the dryer.

I'm so excited about the fireplace mantel and surround.  It is awesome and they LOVE it!  I am waiting for the room to be painted before I show you the finished image.  I can be mean like that sometime.

As I said, this house was built in the 80's.....think Jane Fonda and leggings.

Since she has [the client, not Jane Fonda] 4 kids we concentrated on small updates in the bathrooms first.  Can you say carpet......yuk????

Yep.  Dark green tile.

This is her only daughters room.

We had the tile guy dig out that green stripe and replace with black [not grouted yet]
Easy fix.

One of the boys bathrooms.  There was already 1/2 of the room with this white tile and it came from Home Depot....so just matched it.  To the left of the toilet was just wasted space.  We did this...

It is the perfect toilet paper holder.  What????  You say it is a little large for that?  OK...we will throw in some towels too.
This is the kids playroom.

Bookcases....window seat.  New carpet.  Beadboard on the walls.

Mudroom/laundry room.  There was a fridge in this hole.  Ugly tile floor.
This is how the hole came to live a long and full life.  She made herself useful!

Whoops...when I like something....the same "honed" slate tile.  We have great plans for this room but I need your help on this one problema.....look to the right...that huge window.

What to put in there.....some thoughts....
cafe curtains...some pretty topiaries?  She said she does NOT have a green thumb.  But I said...please.  The faucet is right there.  Just give them a squirt every now and then.

Now...this is where I need your HELP!  I told them to remove this island right now, especially since they are having the floors redone.  Take the hardwood all the way in the kitchen.  NOW.  You must tell her also.....please help a sister out.

Begging here.

Think of the dust and disruption if they save this until after they move in.  I have some great plans on how to fix this kitchen that I will share with you.

This is the kind of stuff I obsess over.  Sleepless nights thinking about this one little issue.   Dreaming of going over there and doing it myself.

Without permission.  But he is a lawyer.  Might through my ass in jail.

That would really ruin my "no jail so far streak".......

Peek of the back yard...

Needs some work...but I could be cozy in the pool house!

Go get your Wednesday "on".....in a big way.

Am I still a blogger????

Holy smokes people....I forgot my responsibilities.  Uh huh.....like blogging.  Every time I get down here, it is like I have to put this whole place back together.  Can I just put this out here.....why do people think they need to re-arrange everything????  On second thought....I have done that a time or 2.  Whoops :)  But wait a minute...I am allowed because I know better than they do.  But so far....no one has made it look better....only worse.

Unfortunately, it has not been too much of a problem because IT HAS RAINED EVERY DAY.

Do you hear the bitterness in my voice?  I mean I would still rather be here than home......I get it, I am not trying to wine.  Maybe a little.....I actually do not mind when it isn't sunny but when it rains sideways....that hurts.

Ok....rant is over.  The winner of the giveaway is Casey from Loft and Cottage!  You need to hop over there so you can see the cool headboard that she is showing.....it could be a great DIY!!

Oh yeah...just in case anyone is interested...here is a picture of my new project.

I got two of these and had the decorative brass birds cut off.  Think I am going to gold leaf them and add mirrors.  Wonder how LONG this is going to take me....or where they are even going to go.  Do I need to know that before I start?

This is a picture of one with the birds on it.

The tips are black, which I don't like.

I am trying to write this and my husband is watching a movie on DVD that he got in China.  Yes...I know it is bootleg.  But here is the deal.  It is such a bad quality...meaning that someone  filmed it in a theatre.  You can actually see the heads of people who get up to go to the bathroom.  And the sound.....it is so loud I am about to go over and grab that remote and slap him upside the head with it.  Just kidding..... :)  Maybe.  I can't think right now, my ears are hurting.

Hope you guys are having a swell Labor Day.....
Think it is supposed to be sunny tomorrow.

Later taters....

A preview....

I just returned from a wedding in Cancun.  AND....what a wedding it was.  Can I just tell you that Latino's can party like I have never seen.  Forget college parties, NYE parties, and Las Vegas parties because that is a ladies tea compared to what I witnessed.  Wedding at 1:00, cocktails at 2:30, reception at 4:00 until 2:00 AM. I mean a tent on the beach, 350 people, sit down dinner, OPEN BAR [for 9 hours], band and a second meal.  I have to admit I could not hang....left at 10:30 and thought that it would be winding down probably at 11:00.   Oh no....at 1:00 they all went to the disco until 5:00 AM.  Yep, the bride and groom also.  And...they can be very persuasive, like "full court press" to get me to stay longer.  It was like being at a market in China where everyone is trying to get you to buy from them.  I had to be like a ninja and sneak out.  The fake "bathroom run"!

Back to reality, trying to catch up with reading blogs and posting one myself.  Forget laundry and unpacking.  Later.

Today just a few pictures of a project I am helping a friend with.  The master bedroom, painted Manchester Tan [Ben Moore] and the wall the bed is going on was wallpapered in a very light grasscloth.  We had the headboard made.

And here is a picture of the fabrics we chose for pillows.
This one is Celerie Kemble for Schumacher.
Adding Kravet Riad to the mix.
This is the wallpaper in the master bath.  It is Decorators Walk and I have always loved it.
Lucky there was wainscoting because it is a little costly!
She only has one dining area so we went rustic with the table.  Having the chairs done now.  She already had them [6 parsons] and we are using a flax colored linen.  Mixing them with 2 different host and hostess and adding 2 different side chairs to the mix.
We changed out the chandelier to this.  It was a very pretty glass bell jar which we reused in the master bedroom.
The wallpaper we used in the foyer.  Bought the wooden table at Scott's.  Now for the mirror and lamp.  I REALLY wanted to do a gold sunburst but I am fighting the urge.  I found a beautiful Venetian Mirror on Horchow that I think is going to be the one.  Still searching for the right lamp.  I am thinking color.
This is the light fixture in the foyer.

I will announce the winner tomorrow of the glass tray!  Hope everyone had a great Halloween.
Now the laundry.  Maybe.
