Dog's Day Out

Well, Carl and I both woke up just feeling overwhelmed. With life. He said his mind tells him he has things to do, but the body says the opposite, so I told him, well do the opposite then. I needed a boost, he needed a boost so I suggested we take the jeep out for a ride and take the DOGS with us. Now those of you who know our dogs are aware they are a handful. Well we got them into the jeep, Halo on my lap of course because the big girls were stomping on him, and off we went. We headed up highway 18 up through Snow Canyon and ended up about 20 miles up...we saw a lake so we turned off, it was Baker reservoir. Small but lots of water and some guys were fishing..so we find a trail and off we went. We didn't walk too far, but the dogs had a blast just running around unleased and getting dirty...we were all worn out, then we headed back home. Will definitely head up that highway again and see where we end up. I thought we might see some snow, but we didn't get high enough I guess.

Tonight we went to Taco Tuesday for our regular date night out with our friends Arti and Lynn Anderson, they live in Coral Canyon and are from the San Gabriel area, in fact Arti grew up not far from me, and her husband Lynn graduated from Rosemead HS the year after me. Small world. Anyway, Del Taco has tacos 3 for 99 cents on tuesdays after 3. There is actually quite a bunch of regulars that show up. Our motto is 'cheap is good'. Lynn and Carl get into quite a few adventures together. A typical boys day out includes going to Target and saying hi to our friend Lynnette who works there, she probably thinks they are stalkers! Then they might head to WalMart and putz around, then over to Costco and walk around for the free samples, if that doesnt fill them up then they get the 1.50 hot dog and coke. They sit there and gossip just like old women, and keep an eye out for the pligs.

Anyway, that was our day, maybe next time we will hike a little further with the dogs, and we definitely need to bug out of this house more often...sometimes it feels like a prison (no offense, Scott!)
