Spring blossoms , hellos & give away winners ~

Hello there & happy Friday! Skipping everything else for the time being, let's talk about give away winners
shall we?

You must have patiently been expecting to find out, so here is how the story goes:

~> random order generators are not my kinda thing &

~> this time preparing 62 papers with numbers in order to pick one, is something that simply didn't fit in this week's schedule.

So before this procedure took forever, I took the easy way, which went somehow like that:

me: hey you... would you do me favor please?
J {him}: no

silence for a while...
J: so what... now? {imagine here how often I'm asking for favors for this reply to be coming my way ;)}

me: can you pick a number from 1 to 62 please?
J: again?
me: yes

J: 33
me: oh great, everyone will think it is faked cause my connection with this number is rather known to be special... {while I was still rambling more... a next answer came out}

J: 27
me: mmm, thanks, it's a little complicated now, which of your two replies should I choose?

Well, here is what I came up with:

27 + 33 = 60
6 + 0 = 6

So the winning number is the 6th entry.

Congratulations Claudia from Chelsea Lane, you are the winner my dear!

Many kind thanks to everyone who participated and see you here soon ,
as I'll be blogging along this weekend,
in order to post all that was intented for this week.

So, from me, for now, I hope you are enjoying a great Friday!

Give away Thursday ~> Tote Shopping Bag by Fabric & Handle

 Hello & happy Thursday everyone!
Since our {Tuesday's evening appointment}  has been rescheduled to today,
{better late than never, right ;)}
Thursdays might as well be the day that give aways are going to be hosted here
whenever they do so.

something about Thursdays that makes them even more pleasurable than
Fridays to me...
perhaps cause the biggest part of the week has passed,
the weekend is almost a breath away,
while there is still a little bit more time
to complete things from our weekly "to do" lists...

are you following me here? anyways!

Let's talk about how you can win a fabulous looking
like the one portrayed above:

2. head on to the Tote shopping bag section
3. choose your favorite model
4. come here & leave a comment stating:
 your favorite bag's name
&
your email address so that I can contact you when you are the winner!
5. show us some love
by sharing with your friends
&
supporting our business pages

That's it!

before I wish you all good luck,
I'd like to share with you some of my personal favorite models:

I love them all for the fact that they can be worn together with so many outfits,
but most of all for this very unique characteristic feature of theirs:

The leather handles are adjustable on the well sewn & durable 100% linen material,
allowing you to decide whether you prefer to hold your bag in your hand,
or on your shoulder.

I love both ways, depending on what I use it for!

Asides from that, when ordering your model,
you may choose between thin & thick leather straps,
as much as between classic camel beige or black leather,
without any extra costs.

I've been since about a year a very happy & satisfied owner
of a Delmare, with thin beige handles,
which has been accompanying me from my trips to the grocery store,
to the city with friends
and even my travels much like last June in Amsterdam
this January in Malta

Paige in dark grey outside / black inside would probably be my next choice,
only that their quality is so good that for the time being,
other than personal delight, I have no excuse to order a new one.

Double toned Aida in light brown & beige stripes seems like a perfect choice for the summer,
while Paige serves more for a business or generally minimal inspired look.

Except from their beautiful external appearance,
Fabric & Handle bags are carefully handcrafted inside,
with pockets & stylish leather details.

All made by hand, one by one through a cooperation with a small team of tailors & leather workers, Salinya - the owner of the company who originates from Thailand & has currently relocated with her husband in Munich, aims at bringing high quality Handmade bags, whith an affordable price addressing a wide audience.

Myself & Domestic Stories with Ivy are "überhappy" that
readers & friends here have this unique chance of winning
a product that is so beloved to us!

Here is some info for you to bookmark:

----------------------------------
brilliant informative page with articles about the development of certain types of bags
&
a 10% coupon off your order
when you subscribe the newsletter,
which you'll find at the bottom left corner of their main page
------------------------------------------

Wishing you all the luck with the give away!
It will be open for submissions until Friday 00:00 the 16th of March
{please note that you may enter once}

We shall see each other here with an inspirational mood very soon
enjoy your days!

~ "Christmas in Paris" give away's winner

Hello dear readers of these pages! Happy Monday and new week, separating us just 12 days from Christmas! These are the elves on behalf of Ivy, who have come to announce the Christmas in Paris give away's winner!
We are so happy to be in this position and promising you that the official author of these pages will be back tomorrow. As for now, she must be somewhere having dinner, after spending a busy day creating and supplying her customers and friends with their orders...

So, drum roll please....it is the holiday season after all and we are aloud to make some noise! ; )
The lucky winner is Cathe (pronounced as Cathy),

Congratualtions Cathe!
May you always be lucky in your life, among of course being healthy, loved, loving and very, very creative!

This is your choice and our cousin elves, working in Anne's atelier over in France, are already preparing your present!

And to all you who have enterred, a big thank you on behalf of Ivy and Anne and wishes for you to have lots of love and luck in your life!

Enjoy your days.....
The elves :)

11.12.10

~ among wrapping paper... candles... a give away's winner... & a lovely surprise!

So, I'm somewhere in between brown wrapping paper, baker's twine in classic red & white combo and a fresh minty green and white one, my favorite Christmas teapot with a happiest, rolling around himself, flying Santa, candles, canldes and more candles burning all day and night long, my new book (no, no dears....ain't written by me), prints, postcards and more prints and postcards which are prepared for presents, a few more of friends' requests (what would I ever do without them?) and just a tiny little few for the online shop (I have had almost no time to work on it and support it as I had wished, so I'm in a way surprised and grateful for every little sale taking place there!)

Let me tell you a couple of words for the book just mentioned, which among others I love these days...It's called " Love for textiles" and you'll find it at the shelves of your local Ikea for a very, very affordable price.
Amazingly beautiful pictures, printed with care for the environment on recycled paper,
a sense for reality and real life and sections to read, while falling in love with the pictures,
 like:

~ energy
~ tranquility
~ fantasy
~ joy
~ enjoyment
~ love &
~ adventure

...talking about being lost in wrapping gifts, reading books and candle light, you wouldn't of course think that I have forgotten about the "Make a wish" give away's  winner, would you?...the truth is that I do spend limited time online these days, out of a concious choice to be able to sink into every day life fully and to enjoy this season.

I've mentioned it quite a few times that I  do so much love this diary and you all who come to spend some time here, still it's mostly a spontaneuous activity.
One done out of  love for sharing, inspiring and making something out of my free time.
Honestly, I'm so glad to be seeing that you are visiting so very regularly and often here, whether there are new posts or not!
Thank you very much for that.
Now back to the give away...yesterday I prepared the package for the winner having everything ready, except the " To:....." part of the gift tag.

I had to wait until last evening at 00:00, in case there were going to be more entries.
This morning the little elves, who come to keep me company and lay a helping hand whenever they can, found that there were 33 entries alltogether (quite symbolic I might say!).
If you visit the give away's post here, you'll notice that there were 35 comments. Only that the 10th and the 30th were written by me.
So here is what we pulled together to randomly pick the winner:
~ prepared 33 little pieces of paper
~ wrote the numbers from 1 - 35, excluding #10 & #30,
~ threw the papers in my huge summer hat
~ shuffled & shuffled & shuffled
~ closed the eyes of a darling elf
~ who then picked a paper...

....with the number 24. I then run to the comments section to see to whom does it point to. And among all of the women who enterred, the winner is a the only man, a great photographer living in Canada. Christian, this is you dear! Congratulations!
Your little package is going to be brought to you by Santa hopefully before the 25th.
Just keep your chimney clean and have something sweet for him ; )

................................................................................................

Do you have the strength to come with me a little longer in my narrating journey?
That would be lovely, cause I so much want to share with you how lucky I am to have already begun  receiving Christmas presents! No wish to show off whatsoever, only to share.
Ilaria from IDA Interior Lifestyle  was so sweet and thoughtful into sending me one of the heart  garlands she herself handknits!
And she knows me so well, as she chose an all white one!
Soft, woolen, white, hearts in a garland!
I wish I had taken a picture as soon I took it out of the lovely package, but couldn't resist my urge into finding a place for it, which happened in like...10 seconds!

The huge, bellshaped and ever favorite of our pendant lampshades
( Ikea Leran) has just the right perimeter for the length of the garland.
I love how it immediately became playful and am so happy with the natural fibers - white combination :)

Oh, for the record, there are three more little decorations among Ilaria's garland. A heart, a Christmas tree and a little angel made from white porcelain, found at Habitat many years ago.

What do you think my dears?

Perhaps these ain't the best pictures to demostrate it to you, but trust me, photographing it was not quite a piece of cake....mmm, talking about cakes...I'd love one of our usual chocolate soufles for dessert since we had dinner a while ago...

Leaving you with a little touch of magic and lots lots of warm feelings!

Love,

Ivy ~ xx

7.12.10

~ welcoming change...

....lovely all hello :)
Happy Teusday! Has your weekend been a nice one and your week begun in a beaufitul way?
I do hope so and so is the case here.
There has been time for relaxation, meeting with friends, having all the orders of cards picked up, working for our shop, producing new products, and finally begining a reconstruction of the online Etsy shop. (Apologies for any inconveniences!)
These days we are welcoming change

And to do that, I begun with having one of our favorite recent images printed , framed and adjusted on our wishes corner wall. You can see it above, while it was modeling for me in order to find a place on the shelves of our shop as well.

"Warm lanterns in the snow"  (spelling out "welcome") is already listed and available as:
~ a print of 5x5 or 8x8
&
~ a set of six postcards in a very affordable price.
Hop here to check it out!

Is it only me that I find them adorable, so positive and oh so pretty?
It could be the case, as I'm both their mother and their godmother as well. So, signs of subjectivity may be possible, I guess ; )

Now, let's revise a bit what has been taking place on these pages since the last few days.
There have been two give aways hosted here:

A "make a wish give away" hosted by our own shop "newivystyle"
which you may be enterring until this Friday 10.12.2010

and a "Christmas in Paris" give away, a generous offer from my friend's Anne shop, "magalerie"
which you may be enterring until this Sunday 12.12.2010

Thank you so much for your love and support by enterring them both!
And thank you Nadine for directing so many people with your kind recommendation here!
It makes me happy to be offering you a present from our own shop and giving you the chance to win some of the prints  from another shop I  so much adore.

Talking  about Anne's shop, my order has arrived just this Friday (with a little bit of extra surprise inside - thank you so much my dear Anne!)
and it is getting packed along with a couple of other things to find its way to Greece.
Wanna see?

My mother will be absolutely happy to receive them, as she has a thing for plates.
This is her favorite "Unicef" plate collection which I remember her building step by step, since I was just a little girl...

My thoughts are that having Anne's collection of Frech saucers and cups in blue and strawberry red framed in simple white, Ikea frames (like the ones pictured on top of the post), will be just right to bind together modern with classical, romantic notes. Are you following me?

And as now my thoughts are that there's a whole lot of gift packaging, card writing and online shop reconstruction to be doing these days, I'd  better go and meet with these elves!
...hope they have some time to help over here as well...you know how terribly busy they generally are these days!

Wishing  you to be finding true internal peace, happiness and joy these days...

Love always,
Ivy  ~ xx
