Yes, more Tissue Boxes

Yes, I know I know, you're sick to death of tissue boxes!!! Well I will be too if I keep at it!
I think I'm done, for now. OK, well maybe one more for my mum.....
Anyway, can't remember who does this gorgeous safari embossed and glittery paper but I think it made a pretty awesome tissue box. Each side is individual and I purposely did NOT use the snake picture cos some people are funny like that. Oh wait, there might be a bit of his tail on the lid....whoops

Anyway, here's a few views of the other sides:
(and btw, that smudge is part of the distresssing on the paper, I did NOT have chocolatey fingers!)

Not quite sure what this animal is (below) but he's pretty exotic, right?

And one more! This one is more feminine but in my opinion less interesting.
No snakes to be seen. lol

OK, no more tissue boxes! That's it for today. :-D
My safari box fits these challenges:
ONe Stitch At A Time: Something For The boys
Shannons Sentiments: Unusual Fold
Delicious Doodles: A 3 Dimentional Project
Sugar Creek Hollow: Anything Goes
Paper Pretties: Masculine
Allsorts: Make a gift box
Gingerloft: Diecuts or punches (in lid of box)

Thanks for visiting!!

DDCC ~ Photo INspiration

Hi Guys!
Well it's not actually my team's turn to post this week at Dutch Dare but when I saw the photo the other side of the team was using for this week's challenge I couldn't resist making a  little somthin somethin.
Here's the photo:

And like I said on Tuesday, you all would be seeing another tissue box in a few days and here it is! This one was actually my first one but I had to save it for the DDCC challenge. It's my daughter's fave colors so I made it for her.
The images are A Day For Daisies. I paper pieced them and colored the rest with Prismacolors.
And the paper is DCWV cardstock and SEI DPs.
The punch is Martha Stewart.
The tissues are Kleenex with lotion. lol
For a note about the tutorial and sizing and shout outs etc please see my post on Tuesday here
Thank you everyone who placed me in the right direction so I could make this.

More views and close ups:

OK, so lots of pictures! Didn't mean to bore you but a tissue box has many sides!!
I hope you can play along with Dutch dare this week.
Its such an awesome inspirational photo to work off of!

Tissue Box

Hi Everyone!
Today's a new first for me. Making a tissue box cover. Yay!! I love new projects!
I had been seeing some very talented ladies make these recently, Chris Olson and Debbie P being among them. Ladies, your work inspires me! Debbie had a link to the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial which is what I went by.
(one little tip. There's a measurement on the lid that calls for 9/16 of an inch. If I were you I would make that 10/16 or even 11/16 to be safe. I made it 9/16 and my lid wouldn't go over the box. It's "engineer exact". Which I am not. :-) It had to be chucked and remade.
The papers I am using are Cordinations Cardstock and Lavender and Lace DP. The ribbons were an assortment given to me.

So this box I made for Stacey as she loves elegance and purpleness.
It's not what I would call "Chris elegant" but it's as elegant as Dorcas gets. lol
Stacey will soon  be working on a scrapbook of her late cat Cody so I figured a  box of tissues wouldn't be amiss.

And while we're speaking of cats, Gingerboy is heading for a stroke if he doesn't lay off the "American Dream" and start exercising and watching his calorie consumption!
"Do you think this fur makes me look fat?"
"Uh no, your fur is fine, its your 18 pounds of fat that makes you look fat. "

"I take exception to that."

I would like to enter the tissue box in the following challenges:
(The cat wouldn't fit!)
Tellen's Place: embellish embellish
Totally Papercrafts: pearls and lace
Wags and Wiskers: Use more than one fold

Thanks for visiting!!
by the way, you will be seeing another tissue box in the next couple of days. They make such nice useful gifts and are such fun to make I couldn't resist!
