Best O' Dreamland: Music from John Waters' Films

Here are "three entries with music from the great John Waters' early features. By no means every track, as there are tons, but a good selection for those of you who either love Dreamland's productions, rock 'n' roll, doo wop or 50's novelty records. ..."
These compilations were posted some months ago, but are still available. And they are of course great!

Seeco Sampler

I enjoyed this Around the World for American Philistines via Seeco compilation posted recently by Thrift Store DJ in all its scratchy glory.
My favorite cut is the faux Parisian "Grands Boulevards" which starts off with an appropriately Frenchy accordion but soon drifts into "In the Mood" before it remembers why it's there and reverts back to other more Gallic music. Actually there are better cuts from Puerto Rico, Bogota, and Rio, but I would lose the reputation I've been trying to build for years if I started posting good music.

I Remember You

One of the PCL "Usual Gang Of Idiots" sent me a compilation disc some time ago that recently resurfaced after years of hiding in my drug infested glove box. No title or handwritten liner notes - just a title - Stop - scrawled on the disc in illiterate Sharpie. Included in the mix was everything from Nat King Cole to Yma Sumac to some aberrant Cuban/French inflected jazz. Anyone own up to this?

My family is ready to disown me for the constant rotation. One of the highlights is this version of I Remember You by Frank Ifield
The high register is a little unnerving but I am eternally grateful.

Flowmotion

"I was quite proud of the fact that the booklet that came with the album stated that I had copy #137 of 500. Oh yeah, chicks dug me!
...
It's hard for me to now objectively evaluate an important artifact of my youth, but I can tell you that I used to be endlessly fascinated by songs like the mutant disco of David Jackman's orgy of overdubbed Casios, and the one vocal number on the album, The Legendary Pink Dots' "The Hanging Gardens," which was seemingly the greatest tune that Syd Barret never recorded. Colin Potter's "Rooftops" was sheer Moogy bliss. ..."

Careful With That Axe, You Meanie - A Manchester Morgue Halloween Compilation.
With a list including names like David Bowie, The 5,6,7,8s, Type O Negative, Flock of Seagulls, Messer Chups and The Bee Gees it is probably safe to say you'll not get bored on Halloween. Scared, perhaps. Bored, not very likely.

Istanbul 1925

Istanbul 1925 - "presents a collection of legendary performers from one of the most exciting periods in Middle Eastern music. Belly dancing, folk music and classical styles were merged together, creating a sound that became the rage of Istanbul - a city situated literally at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. The greatest cabaret singers, musicians, dancers and classical artists from various ethnic backgrounds - Turks, Armenians, Jews, Greeks and Gypsies lived in Istanbul, creating a musical style that dominated the city for more than half a century.
Hundreds of recordings were made by His Master's Voice in Turkey and issued on 78 rpm records. Presented here are performances of Turkey's greatest artists recorded during that era, digitally remastered from the original metal parts" (quoted from the liner notes)
