You're Gonna Love It, Cuz I don't
Honest to God, this album absolutely grated on my nerves and I couldn't delete it quickly enough, which probably means since I'm so totally out of synch with blogging anymore, it will probably be universally adored. So have at it, I'm back listening to Cacka Israelsson.

Meet Mr. Mallard From Mars
A Super Sonic Fidelity Recording. A 21st Century Record:
The uploader (Terenig) of this novelty gem wants help:
"We got this album as children in Fresno, California during the 1950s at some sort of promotional event. We were unable to find or remember any more details. Please let us know if you can provide additional information."
Leave a comment here (and I'll pass it on to him) or below the video post.

Amish in Space
I had no idea that Amish men wore bonnets, nor did I realize they were able to get to space using only the batteries from a golf cart. Isn't knowledge a wonderful thing?

astronouts
Animation for Astronaut by Spinvis (Erik de Jong), from his self-titled debut album. Jules Spee made this for a school assignment (make an animation with the lyrics of a song).
Spinvis recorded another version of Astronaut with the Belgian female vocal group Laïs for "Nieuwegein aan Zee"
And Laïs made a complete rendition of their own:
Video by Spinvis himself:

Space Vinyl
A little-known fact about NASA was the attempt to be the first to send rocket-fueled record albums to the moon-- and as you can see by this album cover the attempts were successful. The US beat the Russians simply because all of the Soviet vinyl was tied up in making affordable Borscht bowls or vodka bottle stoppers or something. I'm no historian here, look it up yourself. Anyway, this fine album by the renowned Jerry Rudolph and his Radio & TV Orchestra contains a particularly spirited (and by default, heavily creepy) version of "Standing on the Corner Watching All the Girls Go By". Get it here.

You have all been coming through for me with my requests lately, so I'm hoping that someone has a copy of this Mitch(ell) Miller album to share with me.

Chuckman Has Massaged My Brain
Jesus, my eyes! I always put a unique image on the covers of the proposals I write. They act as mnemonic devices as well a differentiators of content, and my clients being of a more free thinking bent, seem to appreciate that I took the time to find something that correlates my awareness of their existence. I was looking for an image of Mount Palomar Observatory when I found Chuckman's blog, where he has loads of stuff, but I was drawn into it via these awesome space cards. If you could fMRI me right now, my primary visual cortex would be firing like, like, I dunno, like the roiling plasma covered surface of the Sun.
