Fabric Pattern/Animated gif

From The Fleischer Brothers' Betty Boop cartoon A Language All My Own. July 19th 1935.

Here's the animated gif- a cool, but money-saving cycle:

I also thought that it would be a good fabric pattern:

Nize Baby, that Milt Gross

Author/cartoonist Milt Gross gained popularity with his Nize Baby stories, chock full of Yiddish phonetic dialect which had to be read aloud to be deciphered.  His  Sunday Funnies were so popular they even turned up as the backdrop of a Hollywood musical number  (warning to Lex Ten, Betty Hutton alert).

The Wildman of Wildsville

"The Wildman of Wildsville" has Beany, it has Cecil, it has Capt. Huffenpuff and Crowy; more importantly it has Lord Buckley as the Wildman, Go Man Van Gogh and hep references aplenty.

RIP Art Clokey

NYT Obit Here
He got ripped off by protestants, doing Davey and Goliath.
He had a daughter with keyhole irises who committed suicide.
He became an acid taking hippie who left his wife and started palling around with Essalen type luminaries
Amazing work that never becomes tiresome.

MODel Rods

Wow. 12 days without a post.
Miss me? Don't answer.

I was contacted by someone who liked GlyphJockey, and in gratitude for my effort he sent me this link which turned out to be pretty cool, and part of a deeper obsession. About it I refuse to say "When I was a kid blah, blah, blah...."

The observation I would like to make is how cool it must've been to work on this stuff. It was broad and extensive in its heyday, and the designer's imagination could run wild - with Big Daddy Roth as the discipline's Pope.

Top two pics are also links to the list.

Thanks Matt!
