Notes :

Nilon Bombers were a britpop band from Cheltenham, formed in 1992. They split up in November 1996.
The line-up was Drew Norton (vocals, guitar), Gareth Ballard (guitar, vocals, bouzouki, keyboards and violin), Martin Williams (drums), and Kim Dorman (bass).
They released an album titled ''Bird'' on Almo Sounds in 1996 which was produced by Kim Fowley. It was described by Roy Wilkinson in Select as combining "Mega City Four's Transit-frequenting worthiness with the everyman rock of Ian McNabb...stultifyingly competent". Their most successful single, "Superstar", reached no. 96 on the UK Singles Chart in May 1996. The band's final single, "I'm Not Built for This", was described by Tania Branigan in Melody Maker as "Two years too late for New Wave of New Wave".
In July 1996 they were a last-minute addition at the T in the Park festival at Strathclyde Country Park where they were first on in the King Tuts Wah Wah tent.
After the band split up, Williams went on to form Silverman.

Notes :

The Wordsmiths were a Scottish Indie band from Penicuik outside of the city of Edinburgh. They formed in 1990 and their music was inspired by the 'Baggy' sound of Madchester. As well as the C86 Indie movement. They came from small towns Penicuik and Loanhead in Midlothian, Scotland. Which enabled them to distance themselves from the mainstream. This in turn helped create a varied and random collection of Indie sounds for the discerning listener. They split in 1992 and the members when onto form new bands.
The Wordsmiths were: Rev Mulvey (Guitar, Vox, Programming), Del Romano (Guitar), Riccardo Romano (Organ, Vox), Steve K (Bass), Pus Dunn (Drums)

Ajax is an American, New York-based band, led by female singer Arleen Mitchel. The outfit released the single "Mind the Gap" in 1989, on Wax Trax! Records. A full-length self-titled debut LP followed, which combined industrial and acid-house music. The album, and its two singles failed to chart.
Mitchel revived the name in the 1990s, most successfully on the 1995 single "Ex-Junkie" which became a minor club hit. "Ex-Junkie" is the band's first (and to date last) entry on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club chart, peaking at number 48.

''Pandora's Box'' is their third album and last for French label Danceteria, ''Achilles Heel'' is only single released from this great album.

Indie Music Picks - great blog for new indie record releases

In the last few years, i can hardly find time to listen new albums & singles releases.
From time to time, i'm trying to check what's new, who are the most important new bands and if i find anything interesting for me, to start collecting their records.

One of my favourite tracks at the moment is this amazing song ''Snow White Lies'' by Scalaland, band formed by Catwalk vocalist Chris Roberts. It will be great to find 12'' vinyl version with remixes from London techno duo Plaid.
This was first single released from ''Breathing Down The Neck Of  Meaning'' album from 1995. Later that year they released another one and final single ''Call Me''.

After Apple Mosaic, vocalist Lawrence Windo formed madchester indie band Bedazzled and released three singles and album for Columbia Records. Guitarist Ian Dench went on to international success with EMF.

Crystal Trip - New EP & Album

Great news for fans of early 90's indie/baggy band Crystal Trip. Before few weeks they released two new records: ''Somewhere EP'' and album ''The Crystal Trip'', both for Emotional Clive Records.

''Somewhere EP'' have 6 tracks, it's compilation of ''Elevate'' single and contains two unreleased tracks before ''Somewhere'' and ''Come Down Heavy''.

''The Crystal Trip'' album have 12 tracks and includes all tracks from mini LP ''Crystal Trip'' released in 1993, plus 4 unreleased tracks before: ''Senseless'', ''Happiness'', ''What Can I Say'' and ''Just Can't Control''.

Amazing material from one of my favourite early 90's bands, both records are available on CD and from all digital platforms: Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazon, Tidal etc.

They also released two new videos for ''Somewhere'' and ''Senseless'', there are two video versions for both songs.

Crystal Trip were a four-piece formed in 1990 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, consisting of Colin Williams vocals and guitar, Emma Walker keyboards, Mike Groves bass and Toby Limbrick drums. Often to be seen showing off their guitar and keyboard driven indie pop around there and Bedford, they nicely bridged the gap between the Smiths, New Order, the Stone Roses and Britpop in the London venues ultimately “clocking in”, according to the NME, “somewhere between Hüsker Dü and Radiohead”. Managed by indie “face” and impresario Paul Dennis the band were also influenced by the emerging club scene being one of the first bands to release club orientated remixes of indie jangle receiving favourable reviews from Mick Mercer, Steve Lamacq and Simon Williams in the music press. They released 2 videos back then one starring Keith Allen and another on Seagull Records directed by Andy Pulver.
