V.A. - What The World Is Waiting For

VARIOUS ARTISTS
What The World Is Waiting For
1990 Powerhaus

Notes :
Compiled by Adrian Gibson who was the programmer at North London's Powerhaus venue at the time. The Powerhaus was owned by the Mean Fiddler Group who turned a pub called the Pied Bull into a live music venue for a limited time from 1989 - 1995. The site of the venue is now a Halifax Building Society and is located at 1, Liverpool Road, London, N1.

The idea behind the compilation is to showcase 10 of the hottest new bands who were coming through the ranks of the venue around that time. All of the songs were mastered from the band's demo tapes. There was a launch night at the Powerhaus where all 10 bands played short sets. Adrian Gibson was interviewed on Gary Crowley's GLR Radio Show on the day of the event to promote the show.

This was the first official release by SUEDE before they changed musical direction and signed to Nude Records. They were managed by Nadir Contractor at the time who went on to be a live music promoter and then a product manager at Sony Records.

Most Wanted Records

I have huge list of records that i need to find for my collection, but these 5 records are top priority at the moment :

01. Deja Vu - Come Follow Me (White Label Promo)
02. The Honey Buzzards - Sympathy (For 2 Girls) (1991 Sheer Joy)
03. Crystal Trip - Apoplexy EP (1990 Raid Records)
04. Crystal Trip - Elevate / Jumblehead 7'' (1991 Fly Agaric)
05. V.A. - Presentation (1991 Sheer Joy compilation)

Some of these records are few years at my Wanted Records list, i've tried various sources but i can't find mp3 copies, really obscure stuff and it seems that nobody have copy at home of this records.
Best way to collect these records is to buy them, i know that these will cost me small fortune. I found 12'' vinyl copies on various online records shops, most of them are based in UK and one in Greece (Elevate / Jumblehead 7''). Price for the records is very cheap and if i lived in UK probably i will have all these record in my colection by now. To avoid expensive shipping post taxes for my country, i decided to buy this 12'' singles and to send directly from stores to someone in UK & Greece to rip them to mp3.
So, i'm looking for anyone who have good equipment to rip vinyl to mp3 from this two countrys, i will buy record and send to your home address, it will cost you nothing, your job is to rip 12'' vinyl and to send mp3 copy to me.
If anyone is interested and have good equipment for ripping vinyls to make quality mp3 copies, contact me at : evibes72@yahoo.com

I have few more requests that i'll send tomorrow by email.

If you have any requests leave comment here or contact me at :  evibes72@yahoo.com
