Stare were an early 1990's four-piece indie band from Norfolk, England. Members of the band were Michael Brown, Karl Goodbody, Richard Hammerton and Derek O'Sullivan.
They released 3 EPs entitled Stare, Mood and Work between 1991 and 1992 on the Fusebox Records.

Notes :

Stare were an early 1990s four-piece indie band from Norfolk, England. Members of the band were Michael Brown, Karl Goodbody, Richard Hammerton and Derek O'Sullivan, joined by second guitarist in March 1992 David Donley.

They released three EP's entitled Stare, Mood and Work between 1991 and 1992 on the Fusebox and Big Life record labels and split in 1992.

They recorded an album called "The Luxury of Anger" which was sadly never released at the time as they parted company with Big Life before that could happen.

 

Stare were broadcast live, as part of BBC Radio 1's Sound City at the Norwich Waterfront in Norwich, on 26 April 1992, and were on the nights bill with Carter USM, Nick Cave, The Farm and Catherine Wheel.

The band reformed in 2011 and released the previously unreleased album ''The Luxury of Anger'' in May 2012 on Eastzone Records.

Early 90's UK indie rock band featuring Richard Hammerton (vocals), Michael Brown (guitar), Karl Goodbody (bass) and Paul Youngs (drums).
Their original demo tape "Stare" generated a lot of Record Company interest. Initially on Fusebox, they eventually signed to Big Life and released several singles,and recorded an album called "The Luxury of Anger" which was sadly never released at the time as they parted company with Big Life before that could happen.
Stare were broadcast live as part of Radio 1's Sound City '92 at the The Waterfront in on 26 April 1992, also on the bill were Carter USM, Nick Cave, The Farm and Catherine Wheel.
During the Hiatus of the singles releases, they also recorded a video which appeared on The ITV Chart Show, MTV & VH1.
The band reformed in late 2011 and played The Waterfront in Norwich to mark the 20th anniversary of their Radio 1 live appearance. This coincided with the release, finally, of the album "The Luxury of Anger" in May 2012.
