After few years on my most wanted records list, finally i found copies of Manifeto and Sandkings singles, i hope that more records from this list will be posted on the blog, soon.

 

''Walking Backwards'' is madchester inspired single by Manifesto, track taken from their self titled album released in 1992 on Fire Records.

 

I was looking more than 10 years for this CD single from Sandkings with remixes of ''Earthwheel'', i'm very happy that i have copy in my collection to complete their discography.

Great UK indie/baggy band from Wolverhampton who released one album ''Welcome To England'' and few singles, their vocalist was Jas Mann who later formed Babylon Zoo.

The Sandkings were Jaz Mann (Vocals), Glenn Dodd (Guitar/Backing Vocals), Dave Brown (Bass) and Terry Kirkbride (Drums/Baking Vocals) from Wolverhampton. They played catchy, jangly indie pop.
They were named after a 1981 collection of sci-fi short stories by George R. R. Martin (called Sandkings).

Their first four singles were released on their own Long Beach Records - the first, "Rain", featured a singer called Andy Parton, before they recruited Jas Mann as their lead vocalist. They toured with other West Midlands bands including The Wonder Stuff, Pop Will Eat Itself and Ned's Atomic Dustbin as well as being the opening act for the Happy Mondays and The Stone Roses in the early 90's.

In 1992 band broke up due to musical differences between vocalist Jaz Mann and the rest of the band. Jaz went on to form Babylon Zoo and gained the #1 spot in over 20 countries with the single “Spaceman”. 
Welcome To England is their only album.

I'm looking very long time for mp3 copy of this CD single with two obscure remixes (A Cultural Mix & Pushy Mix) of Sandkings single ''Earthwheel'', i have only 12'' version with different mixes but only 160 kpbs copy, i'm also looking for better copy of this 12'' vinyl version.
If anyone can help will be great !!!
