"“There.” I pointed at Danielle. “See what you did? You’ve upset the baby.” I went over to Danielle, and as soon as I picked her up, the baby quieted.

“One of these days, Estella,” Chauncey said, “you’re going to have to stop hiding behind that nasty attitude.”

“I’m not hiding behind it,” I said. “It’s a part of my charm.”

Shutting his eyes, he sighed loud and long. “I have never been so tempted to throttle a woman in all my life.”

“Ha!” I tossed my head. “I’d like to see you try, pretty boy. I’d have you eating the floorboards before you could blink.”

“If you’re going to make threats, you should put the baby down,” he said. “Or are you merely bluffing?”

 “Bluffing?” I shifted Danielle to my left hip. “You think you know me, Chauncey? I could drop you to your knees before you ever knew what hit you.”

In response to my challenge, he stepped toward me. I pivoted so that Danielle was almost behind me, and at the same time I shot my right hand forward, palm facing out. It was a controlled thrust that I stopped a bare inch from his nose. Danielle squealed happily at the abrupt movement, and Chauncey’s dark brown eyes almost bugged out of his head.

“Do not underestimate me,” I said softly as he stared. “I have seen more, done more and defended myself in situations that would make you cringe.” Slowly, I lowered my hand.

Chauncey took a deliberate step back. “Surely you know that I would never strike a woman.” His voice was low, but his tone was serious.

“Lala!” Danielle bounced happily on my hip.

Before anything else was said, Philippe moved into the doorway

“Gabriella is awake.” Philippe walked into the kitchen oblivious to the tension. “She said she would try and eat something in a bit.”

“Good,” I said, turning back to the stove as if to check the stew. “This should be finished in a few minutes. She can try some of the broth and the chicken and see how she tolerates it.”

“Are you staying for dinner, Chauncey?” Philippe asked his brother.

“No.” Chauncey’s voice carried clearly to me. “I have dinner plans for tonight. Excuse me.”

Of course, he has a date, I thought. Determined not to let Philippe know that I’d almost decked his brother, I turned around from the stove with a smile in place and discovered that Chauncey had left. My shoulders dropped in relief..."--©

This is the first book in a spin-off series from the original Hemlock Hollow Trilogy. So yes, you will find out what Daphne and Finnlagh are up to, as well as the other supernatural residents of the hollow. At the moment I have eight other future titles lined up for this new Hemlock Hollow Anthology.

In the meantime it's full speed ahead on Midnight Destiny-- book 6 of the Daughters Of Midnight. I'm about at the halfway point of that novel and although I thought I knew how this story would go...Estella is like, "Here, hold my beer," and I'm just scrambling to keep up with her. Those star-crossed ghosts are still up to all sorts of mischief-- and Estella and Chauncey are doing their best to deal with them.

Midnight Destiny was supposed to be released last year and then I got mono and it landed me in the hospital twice, so I had to tackle Estella and Chauncey's story this summer instead. It was defintely worth the wait.

For now I'll say it will be a December release but it might be earlier. It depends on how fast I write it, honestly.

Long time no post.

2020 was a hell of a year. The author cruise was cancelled (by the cruise line)  twice- thanks to the pandemic. I ended up getting Mono at the age of 57 last fall and that knocked me down hard, and put me in the hospital twice. Which was no fun.

I'm on the mend. The Hemlock Hollow trilogy has been successfully released. The entire trilogy is available on Kindle and in paperback.

Currently I am working on book #11 in the Legacy Of Magick series. This is an adorable teaser made for me by the cover designer.

This year I did something a little crazy. I decided to launch a brand new paranormal series, and release them back-to-back-to-back! This new series is about three contemporary sisters who are each in their own way honoring the path of the wise woman.
I knew it was going to be intense writing the books consecutively and putting them out only 6-8 weeks apart, but I decided to dive in...and I'm so glad that I did. Not only  was it fun to write, this series has proven to be very popular, and I'm delighted that it is resonating with traditional romance readers, as well as paranormal fans.

Since my most recent book, the Holiday novella entitled, Sugarplums, Spells & Silver Bells was so popular, I WILL be doing another Legacy Of Magick holiday novella for 2018.

This 2018 holiday novella will feature everyone's favorite Gothic and snarky Witch, Ivy Bishop. I have some fun ideas for that novella and it's going to be a dark, creepy, and gothic, Yuletide tale.

In other news... I will be launching a THIRD PARANORMAL FICTION SERIES this year.
