Lenny Kravitz's Heartfelt "Believe in Me" Song and His Unbelievable Interiors

Lenny Kravitz is known for being an amazing rock musician and for his public love life. But, what you may not know about him is his passion for interior design.

Like many artists, he has a love for many different arenas and is pushing himself to master and learn new talents. After looking at these photos of several of his private homes, I can see he is a Renaissance man.

"I love big monochromatic statements," he said. "Especially black and white," an aesthetic inclination whose racial relevance is not lost on him, "since my mother was black and my father white."

This video is a song about just believing in him.
I believe this man could do anything he put his mind to.
Bravo! What an inspiration.

Happy 4th of July with Lenny Kravitz's "American Woman"

"American woman, stay away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come hanging around my door
I don't want to see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you
Now woman, stay away
American woman, listen what I say

American woman, get away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come knocking around my door
I don't want to see your shadow no more
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now woman, get away
American woman, listen what I say

American woman, I said get way
American woman, listen what I say
Don't come hanging around my door
Don't want to see your face no more
I don't need your war machines
I don't need your ghetto scenes
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now woman, get away
American woman, listen what I say
American woman, stay away from me
American woman, mama let me be

I gotta go
I gotta getta away
Babe I gotta go
I wanna fly away
I'm gonna leave you woman
I'm gonna leave you woman
I'm gonna leave you woman
I'm gonna leave you woman
Bye bye, bye bye...
Bye bye, bye bye
American woman.....
And you're no good for me
And I'm no good for you
I look you right straight in the eye
And tell you what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna leave you woman
You know I gotta go
I'm gonna leave you woman
I gotta go
I gotta go

I gotta go
American woman
Yeah"

I think this song by Lenny Kravitz is perfect to party with poolside today to celebrate our American freedom. There is something so empowering about the line "And you're no good for me, And, I'm no good for you." that resonates for me today. I can say there have been a few men that I knew from the start were not good for me. I went along for the ride anyway and didn't listen to my intuition. And, got burned. But, to have the foresight to say "bye, bye" because of that nagging intuition can take every ounce of courage in your being and hurts like heck. But, you hope that in the long run less tears will be shed for all.

Enjoy your 4th of July, dear friends!

Have you ever just had to say "bye, bye" to save yourself from someone that you knew wasn't good for you or from a bad situation? Were you better for it? Or, did you wonder if you really made the right decision later?

Love and light,

Christina

Lenny Kravitz crashes the VOP Choir in New Orleans for "Fly Away" CNN. He rocks.

Lenny Kravitz is one talented man.
If I was a man, I would dress like him. Hey, I'm just saying. The man has style.
I will follow up with his decorating talents next. It is mind blowing.
An artist is an artist. This man is definitely multi-talented.
Enjoy him on the drums and singing on the attached video.
It's really worth the time.
What do you think of Lenny?
Cause, I am thinking he is one cool cat.
Love and light,
Christina

Lily Allen, Chanel's New "It Girl". Who Is She?

A few months ago when I saw this amazing ad campaign of a Audrey Hepburn look a like as Chanel's new "It Girl" I was scratching my head. Who is Lily Allen?
I found out that Lily Allen takes the cover of ES Magazine with an insightful interview this month. She is definitley not a shy gal. More up and in your face. You can read this interview here.

She is a "Pop sensation. Voice of her generation. Fashion designer. Political activist. Mouthy blogshite. X-rated sexpert. Fall-down drunk. WAG-tagoniser. Queen of MySpace. Exhibitionist. Primadonna. Style icon. Celebrity girlfriend. Celebrity daughter. Celebrity sister. Paparazzi prey. Party starter. Princess.

Lily Allen has been called all these things, and much, much more - sometimes with justification, often without. She's posh, she's common, she's sexy, she's demure, she's reticent, she's outspoken, she's sensitive, she's shameless, she's loved-up, she's distraught, often all in the same evening. Then she goes to bed, gets up and has breakfast. Then she posts her breakfast on the Internet. Then other people analyse her breakfast. And wonder why she posted it on the Internet.

Contrary, contradictory, occasionally catty, always compelling, Allen, at 23, is Britain's most consistently engaged and engaging pop star, as well as one of our most successful. from Lily Allen Music." found on her
Lily Allen website.

What do you think about Lily Allen being
Chanel's new cover face?

Taylor Swift Has Won Me Over And You Might Just Agree

Ok, I've finally been won over by Talyor Swift. I am a rebel by heart. If everyone loves somebody, I am sceptical. Especially if it's "tweens" that are loving the artist. But, I had a change of heart. First I saw her on Oprah in an interview this week and tour of her home. She seems to be authentically sweet and down to earth. Then, I watched this thought provoking new music video about being 15 years old and in love. And, I was amazingly surprised by the message of the song and video. Good for her!!! Finally, finally... a good role model for our youth!!! I grew up in my teenage years with Madonna, Pat Benatar and Blonde as my role models. It is refreshing to see the new options this generation has.

She is also setting trends. Her hair is fab and the latest trend. I am loving her ivory sophisticated soft dress in the music video. Then, in the video, they nail it at the end with the classic black trench and red lips. Well done to the stylist. Cheers to all involved!

Just a Orange County Girl Living in an Extraordinary World***Gwen Stefani

Couture Gwen

Vintage Momma

Glam Queen

From the OC with No Doubt

The Queen with her band

The many faces of Gwen

Original Gwen with bleached blonde hair, red lips & nails,
black eyes, pearls and wearing lingerie with baggy pants

Gwen Stefani was just an ordinary girl from Anaheim, Orange County. From a regular track home. This gal used hair dye, red lipstick, black eyeliner and vintage clothing to create the Gwen image we know her for. And, she hasn't strayed much from the original vision. When she does, I barely recognize her. I need the red lipstick Gwen. It just goes to show you the power of these small things a gal has over the universe. Especially when put into action by a persistent gal in search of stardom. Oh.... I'm not saying it's all looks. She has a fierce voice and worked out everyday to keep that bod and to keep jumping all over the stage night after night. I'm just saying she is a gal from nowhere special with a dream... and she kept to her vision and made it happen.
Cheers to you Gwen. Now she wakes up everyday with Gavin and her baby in her estate. Nice... Hard work pays off. And, she's just a girl...
Keep the dream alive. Whatever your dream is...

For the Love of Music: Concrete Dreams by Tristan Clopet Versus Superficiality is a Sin by Tristan & the Juice

I am happy to share a new talent, Tristan Clopet, with my dear friends. He has the rock, soul and funk combination that I crave in his new album Duende EP by Tristan & the Juice. This is date night groove music at it's finest. He sounds a bit like the Red Hot Chili Peppers (from the OC), Blood, Sweat & Tears and Jeff Buckley. I find it refreshing. I've been into Coldplay, Nina Simone and Toole lately , so this is a nice cold drink of water for me. I hope you enjoy and see Tristan & the Juice are upcoming talents with lots of soul, rock and funk. We all need a bit of funk in our lives during these funky times and Tristan delivers. Tristan & the Juice will be playing at the Florida Grammy Showcase and Pulp Live. Tristan also has over 40,000 hits on his MySpace. Check out more about Tristan & the Juice and their upcoming shows at their website and his new blog.

I was able to download this additional video today with Tristan & the Juice playing "Superficiality is a Sin". Oh, I'm feeling the soulful funk this song delivers. This is my pick for today. This is the kind of good feeling music I need everyday to take those cares away...

Which song are YOU FEELING TODAY?
