really since sunday?!?!...

i'm ashamed...

i really have been doing productive things...

nothing like downing whole bags of potato chips and gallons of dr. pepper...

nope nothing like that...potato chips and dr. pepper are so not in this prairie girl's vocabulary...

really...

sigh...

anyways...

hello girls!!...

have you all had a fabulous week?!?!...

i have some before and after shots of some projects that i've been doing lately...{coming soon...}

yes projects...

the husband informed me you are suppose to work on one at a time and maybe have a list of 2 or 3 tops...

not a list of 200...

really...200...i think he is being a little "dramaggot" {term brought to you by 5 year old prairie boy...hhhmmm....}

so the projects have consisted of making an absolute mess of our house...and also the shop...

you know when i talked about maybe doing this to my floors...

well there is no maybe about it...it has begun...

the paint colors have been picked for the floors and walls...

can't wait to share...

i promise soon....

i've also promised chloe the cruiser that pretty soon she won't be neglected anymore...

isn't she a beaut?!?

i've really enjoyed having her here on the prairie...

it amazes me how something as simple as a bicycle can bring back such feelings of pure joy and the innocence of childhood...

blog interrupted do to:

~ learning to ride a bike again...{scary}...

~ realizing i'm not much of a pool mom...

~ story hours which are not quiet, peaceful moments...

~ play dates which are just as much for the girls as for moms...

~ kitten {namely belle who now has become betty} + cow milk = messes this prairie girl just can't take...

~ the smell of rain on the dry parched prairie...

~ cattle moving to summer range...

~ explaining to my daughter that no she does not have "nutses" like her brothers...!?!?!....{i know}...she needs a sister...

~ summer + wild prairie children = no time for blogging...{sigh}

Prairie Summer...

it's official...summer has begun!

i wonder if it's to late to enroll the kids in summer school...sigh... ;0)

do you all have fabulous plans for the weekend? like lounging on a beach, having a huge family barbeque, toughing it out while camping in the wilderness??

no plans here on the prairie...though i did go treasure hunting today...

i can't think of a better way to start summer!

Prairie Porch Party...

since it doesn't look like spring will ever arrive here on the prairie...i've decided to just skip it...yep we are moving onto summer...and that means barbecues and porch parties...i decided i better start planning...how does this sound for our first get together here on the prairie??

cowboy steak with whiskey butter

grilled chicken with watermelon glaze

grilled corn on the cob

roasted new potatoes

garden fresh salad

heirloom tomatoes

strawberry shortcake

honey cakes with strawberries

and of course refreshments right??

how does a "june bug" sound to you??

i've decided this book is a must to complete my prairie summer this year...

what exciting plans do you girls have for this summer {besides trips to france} not sure if this prairie girl can handle hearing that... ;0)
