 Clouds and rain
(though completely unexpected
the sun came out sometimes too)
Water droplets on the window pane,
"droplets" on my jewel too.
The colours of the threads made me think of salmon
jumping against the current to spawn.

the light isn't  very good so late on cloudy days.

Yesterday I promised an other colour for today,
but bright again it is !
I love this paisley shape very much.
It's origin from Persia this, teardrop with the curved end,
the name "Paisley" from the Scottish town
a centre for textile industry.
(today's Jewel reminds me of a day at the beach
with rippling waves nibbling at your feet . . .)

day 7

A slow begin this Monday
(late, but rested now after that busy Saturday)
and we have such nice sunny weather
for this time of the year !

I don't know why
but some things that seem very easy to stitch
turn out to be more time-consuming than I initially thought.
But no matter what, in the end I get there.

Another day, another Textile Jewel for
PINK RIBBON
So please come by tomorrow again !

King's day ... a colourful day

King's day

(his birthday, and he's 50 now)

is also orange day !

(because of his Family name)

The King and his family partied in Tilburg,

and it was sunny there most of the time.

(they also have a wonderful Textile Museum in Tilburg !

the dress Queen Maxima was wearing (by Jan Taminiau)

will be there from tomorrow ! )

So an ORANGE day :

an orange streamer (not ours)  and some orange leftover of birthday flowers

the orange lid of the new plastic waste container and an orange crochet flower.

Because the grandchildren are not here

there is no need for us to go anywhere,

so we had a quiet day,

not very warm, a bit of rain, a bit of sun.

But it was a colourful day !!!

This is what I have been doing lately

(after the little monkeys were finished !)

They will be key rings soon

and we'll take them to the market

on the 2nd day of Pentecost  (June 5) in Ouwerkerk.

What else can you do

when you have soooo many colours to choose from !!!

Endless possibilities !!!

When you start making something,

new ideas keep popping up as you go.

The solution to that :

four layers : two white, two yellow .... and a swirl

For this one I used only two layers of white

It's so good when you can teach people

a little bit of the things you like doing yourself.

Having been a teacher all my life,

it's kind of a natural thing

that I want to pass on my knowledge

and make others as enthousiastic as I am.

The results of three ladies felting yesterday
