Spring Double Stamp

Hello!  I'm still here!  Just in the middle of gardening season and getting my perennial bed sorted out so I have dirty paws lately.  So I pulled a manicure from the not so distant past, that I created to celebrate the first days of spring.

In the spirit of all the lovely birdsong, bursting blooms and budding trees:

I forgot what combinations of polish I used for this manicure--pretty sure the base green is Barielle Mint Ice Cream Cone, and I put a light coat of Covergirl Boundless Color Pink Twinkle over every nail before sealing with my favorite topcoat Seche Vite. I used image plates: BM003 (flower), BM-204 (green, stamped twice), BM-410 (dragonfly), as well as one Cheeky XL plate.  The pink nail is a kind of pond manicure with a sheer pink jelly.

Do you have a favorite spring manicure?  Or a favorite colour nail polish this spring/summer?

Thanks for popping by!

Fun with Layered Stamps!

JELLYBEANS!

It's been a long time. Is there anybody still out there?
I made pretties!

Layered Bundle Monster stamps!

2 coats pastel pink franken
+ (LAC untitled neon pink + BM-416 Splatter)
+(Frankened grey + BM-017 Filigree)
+SH Insta-Dri Top Coat
= 1 Badass Mani

The pink splatter is much brighter IRL, but I couldn't get my camera to capture it!

And my new friend Aimee came over today for a play date --the kids played too.  ;p
I got to paint her nails with a pretty design and she said I could show it off here as well!   I am looking forward to many more nail art afternoons with her!

2 coats Billie Cosmetics white creme
+ (China Glaze Sun Worshipper + BM-416 Splatter)
+ (Frankened grey + Cheeky XL B Rings)
+SH Insta-Dri Top Coat
= 1 Badass Mani

I love Bundle Monster.  I used a plate from the CYO 2013 set and one of my all time faves from the newly revised original set. Both manicures were over stamped using a frankened charcoal grey.  I think I used a bottle of SH Insta-Dri Whirlwind White with several drops of Claire's Black Hole.  I don't remember what I did to make the pink franken.

I'M SO EXCITED! Did you hear Bundle Monster is having another CYO nail plate competition? You can submit up to ten images that you would like to see on an image plate and see if any make the cut! 5 of my images were selected for the 2013 set!  I can't wait to try again this year!

Happy Painting!

Purple and red Water Lily Manicure

Hello Jellos!

This is the manicure I sported after 7 days of naked nails at my family reunion. I apologize for the state of my cuticles. between my tapestry work, the house cleaning for company and the landscaping...well. EXCUSES EH?

At any rate, the cuticles didn't show up so drastically in reality but the photos pick it up.

Sunlight:

2 coats Sinful Colors Big Daddy, stamped background pattern using BM-207 and Sally Hansen Chrome Sizzlin' Gold. I shadowed the chrome stamp with my red Kiss striper polish to give it a bit more depth.

I took a small amount of Revlon No Shrinking Violet onto one corner of my triangular make-up sponge and daubed on a round spot the estimated size of my flower stamp. I did this randomly on each nail. The thumbs had two spots. I also took a bit of black polish (I think it was Claire's Black Hole) and daubed in the center of each spot, again for depth.

Shade:

I used Sally Hansen Chrome Rose Diamond and image plate BM06 for the Dahlia stamp. Then I went in with a smaller dotting tool and some unnamed Claire's pink and dotted the center of each Dahlia and placed some sprays of pink dots randomly on each nail.

My top coat was Seche Vite.

I was really happy with the way this one turned out! It reminds me of water lilies but like in cartoons when evil is afoot and everything gets covered in red. I'm really digging the purple and red combination lately! I can't remember where it was that I first saw the idea of dabbing colour where the flowers will be stamped. Perhaps it was on Maespiritu's blog Art of Nail, or Thriszha's blog Fab Ur Nails, but wherever I did see it I am sending my thank you's because I'm hooked! :)

Also, just want to send out one more big thank you to Valerie over at Lavender Parfait for the lovely goodies I won recently in her giveaway! Yay sparklies! I can't wait to try them out! Yes that is OPI Absolutely Alice on the left side! Eeeee!

I hope everyone has a stellar weekend! I am receiving more company! An old friend from High school is making the trip down from way up north to visit me for 5 days. We're having a girl's night tomorrow night! I can't wait!

Cosmic Sparkles

Greetings Jellybeans!

This manicure started with 2 coats of L'Oreal Luminescence (a rich dark purple with subtle shimmer). I didn't really know what I was going to do next!

Then I wondered what it would look like with my favorite polish: Nicole by OPI's Count on Me, so I painted 2/3 of my nail vertically, leaving a stripe of the original polish showing to the pinkie side of each nail. Then as an after after thought I painted over the thumb side 1/3 of each nail with one of my Claire's flakies.

I tried and tried to capture the total awesomeosity of this manicure, but my camera failed. :( Imagine it with a shimmery intense fuchsia and royal blue and the little flakies really seem to float at different depths, refracting the light in an array of colours. It was so pretty I just stared at them constantly.

A few days back I discovered another cool cosmic manicure by You Nailed It! and her photos really captured that nebula effect! Definitely go take a peek cause it's wicked awesome.

There was SO much more fuchsia shimmer in these than the photos show off. :P

Okay that was quite a few pics for me. I usually like to keep it short and sweet but this one...I just couldn't decide so you got them all.

Just a shout out about my 200 Follower giveaway, in case you haven't had a chance to enter. Still plenty of time left though! :) Good luck everyone!
