New stamps

Last Friday I went to the Make It Show in Farnborough and treated myself, amongst other things, to some Tim Holtz stamps. I love this butterfly so just had to buy it.
I've also used some other stamps to get the dots and squiggles and, of course, distress inks blended.
I have used some gold foil on some of the leaves and squiggles but it doesn't look as though the scanner has picked that up...shame because it looks quite good on the card.
I tried using the central topper against the white card and it didn't look good, so I made the background on some white copier paper in lighter shades, and mounted the topper on some gold card, again this isn't showing up by the scanner.
I might send this to some friends for their anniversary as she just loves butterflies.

Happy Easter

Ok I know I'm a bit early, but with the way the weeks are whizzing by it will soon be Easter, and they seem to have had Easter Eggs in the shops ever since Christmas!!!!!

Anyway enough of my rambling, this fortnight's Tilda Challenge was to use the Tilda Easter image and a bunch of flowers, the idea generally is to put your slant on the design that was in the Tilda magazine, so here is my effort. Somewhere amongst those flowers is a butterfly hiding. Expect the grandchildren will end up with this card.

There's that little house mouse again

I shouldn't be here uploading this, I should be in the kitchen making scones to take out for 'tea' at a friends this afternoon, but I have to take this card with me so thought I'd better pop it on here otherwise I'll forget.
Yes it's that house mouse again, mounted on a nestie....and I used the dots from the punched out surround (and from another one too) to brighten up the base card. (waste not want not etc!!!!)
I thought the ribbon threaded through and bow finished it off quite nicely.
Right, gotta go and make those scones now.

Think I've gone mad!

I made a card recently (blogged) for a friend who was made a Great Grandmother for the second time recently. She wanted me to use the image to make a card for one of her Grand daughters for her 18th birthday.

Well, I find it quite hard to second guess what someone really requires, so made one over the weekend. Neil wasn't keen on the background colours, so I have been playing about today, and have ended up making 4, yes 4 cards for her to have a look at and choose. Three are with that image, and one is a Tilda.

I wonder which one she will choose.

Two of them, one pink and one blue still need some finishing touches, but will do that when I know which one she likes most.

Catching up

What else to do on a very dark and extremely windy Monday morning but to catch up with those cards you need for the rest of the month? I have actually made four this morning but one is similar to the cup cake card already blogged.
I think I have now made all the cards for this month so I might actually find some time to do something a bit different next time I have some time.
I bought a really cheap diary in a sale, it has a plastic cover and the diary can be taken out of the sleeve, so I have this desire to cover it with some grungepaper and make it look a bit more exciting!!!!!! All good intentions and ideas, but they don't always work out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another Tilda Challenge

This was the image we had to use for this week's challenge, guess I should have done it in red as it is for valentines day, but somehow it ended up in purple!!
Now I only have one person to send a valentine card to.......wonder if he will appreciate it???????

Another Tilda Wedding Couple

Someone on a forum I go on let slip it's her 40th Wedding anniversary so having used this image for a challenge last month I thought I could adapt it using red papers etc and have popped it in the post for her. I hope it will be a nice surprise for her and her hubby.

Crafting Sunday afternoon

It's one of those months with lots of birthdays and anniversaries so I managed to lock myself in my little room for a while on Sunday to get started on them, these are a few I completed and they are now on their way in the post.

Tilda

One of the forums I go on have started a Tilda Challenge, the idea is to create a card something similar to the one in the Tilda magazine.
This is my attempt, to be honest I did put some 'thicker' flowers on it, but it didn't scan well, and I want to send this to my niece for her wedding anniversary (well I might as well make use of it having laboured over making it!!!) so I changed the flowers to flatter ones cut with my bug.
I wasn't sure I liked it much when I made it, but it has grown on me over the last few days.
