Not much time to craft!

I don't seem to have had very much time to craft recently. Saturday was busy with some housework and helping Neil paint the bathroom walls, and Sunday we were out at Bournemouth for a Music by the Sea lunch, and very nice it was too. We met up with our group of friends there so was great to have lots of company. Monday Neil was home, so another coat of paint on the bathroom and generally doing things non-crafty, just not good enough in my book, ha ha ha.

Yesterday was doctors appointment, today shopping and the vet's with one of the dogs, and tomorrow the rear brakes on the car are to be replaced (poor chap always seems to work on our car in the rain, his fault this time as I told him the choose the day he wanted to come and the forecast doesn't look good) and the piano is being tuned too. Phew worn out just thinking about it all.

Anyway, enough waffle. I seem to swing between grunge and cute at the moment, and it's that time for another Tilda Challenge this time using Tilda and a gift, and generally was meant to be a Christmas Theme, Yikes, Christmas thoughts already....not me, so have gone sort of dark pinks so I could use it for a birthday. I made the flowers out of copier paper and added some pink foil to liven them up a bit, as well as on the circle behind Tilda. Quite liking this foil thing at the moment, I expect the novelty will wear off soon, but for now it seems to get onto nearly everything ha ha ha.

Diary cover

I bought one of those really cheap diaries (even cheaper as it was in a sale!!!) with a nasty plastic cover and a removable inner section, so decided I could make it look a bit nicer to have in my handbag. I used some grungepaper, and inked it with Tim's distress inks, then stamped all over it with various different stamps, two swirls and dots, added some gilding flakes and made a flower from grungepaper too.
Now when I have a 'date to write in it' I don't feel embarrassed at bringing it out to use.
I stuck the new cover onto the nasty plastic one, so I should be able to take the plain inner diary section out and slip a new one in next year. Hopefully I should get lots of use out of it, and might even consider making a few as Christmas gifts next Christmas....If I remember to do them.

There's that Tilda again.

Seem to have been too busy to craft the last couple of weeks, Neil was home laying tiles on the floor of the shower room and this week seems to have flown by with meeting friends, visitors here, shopping and today having the car serviced and mot'd.
It's not good enough really, is it? ha ha ha.
Anyway, this is the card I made for the Tilda Challenge I take part in, quite pleased with the colouring, and was pleased it needed a butterfly somewhere on it so I could use that lovely Tim stamp.
Hopefully things will settle down now and I will have a bit more time to get inky and messy.

Alcohol inks

Having watched Tim Holtz with DB the other week, and my trip to the Make it show where I saw real life demos, I thought I really should have another go at using my Alcohol inks, I've never really got on with them very well, always seem to end up with a muddy mess, probably because I use too many colours at once!!!!!! Should really learn that less is more I guess.
I had also treated myself to a pack with the gold and silver inks s have added a little of the gold to the background, although it doesn't show on here which is a shame because in the right light the background looks very pretty with the twinkling gold. Of course I've used those new stamps I brought too and a script background stamp in the corners. I have to admit to being rather pleased with this one, so much so that I've made a couple more too as I have lots of birthdays to get ready for over the next two months.
