I needed to make a quick card for a baby girl's baptism this weekend and was inspired by some unbranded dies I recently received from the slow boat from China (Ali Express!).
All my card seem very plain and simple at the moment (ie boring) - I just can't seem to get into the glittery glitzy mode I need to be in to make Christmas cards.
I think white on white cards always look good for religious events so I just layered the different dies to add interest. The greeting was computer generated and I added a few pale pink pearls to show it's for a baby girl.

Isla's Baptism
Today I'm sharing a plain and simple baptism card I made for a baby girl who was baptised yesterday. I've kept the design very simple but used stripe embossed base card to add some interest.
I think the both the crucifix die and the scalloped oval die were from Marianne. I've mounted the cross on some pale pink card, fussy cut and added a criss-cross ribbon and pearl. The sentiment was done in Publisher using Formal 365 font.

Just a quick post to show you a Christening card I have made for Sunday. I'm really into die-cutting at the moment and I think this card demonstrates this...

The Triplet's Christening
Today's card was made out of necessity as it was impossible for to find something similar in the shops/on line... any anyway - it's so much nicer to be able to personalise a hand-made card
I didn't want the card to be fussy as it's for baby boys, so the only embellishments I've added are some leaf scroll dies and a blue gem on the crucifix
I've entered this into the current challenges at:
4 Crafty Chicks - use dies/punches- WINNER

Die Cut Baptism Card
Today's card is for a friend at work for a baptism she is going to this weekend...
I used an ornate crucifix die I bought years ago (Marianne Designs I think), a scalloped oval die and a trellis embossing folder. The sentiment was made on the coputer and I've used the palest blue paper I have to as backing to emphasise the cross and the sentiment.

Christening Day
Today's card is for a little girl who is being Christened today:
I found this gorgeous digi by googling 'Regency dresses colouring pages' as I wanted a Jane Austen style dress to use as a Christening gown. I changed the colour of the digi to silvery grey, printed it onto card then fussy cut the image. I've added some white glitter which is difficult to see in the photo and some pale pink ribbon and flat-backed pearls. The image is mounted onto the card with foam pads to make it stand out. The greeting is done in Candy Round font on the computer and matted onto pastel pink and silver mirri paper.
The whole thing looked a bit too CAS if you know what I mean, so I added some Rennie Mackintosh style peel-offs in the top corners.

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge - Pastel colours

Oscar's christening
A work colleague requested a Christening card for a baby boy who is due to be Christened this coming Sunday...
I've used a pale blue base card and added a smaller embossed square of white card on the front. The crucifix was traced from a template and hand cut with a pale blue matted border. I've added ribbon across the centre of the cross and kept embellishments to a minimum with a single gem in the centre.
I've entered this card into this week's challenges at:
Here Come The Boys - use ribbon
CAS On Sunday - make it masculine
Really Reasonable Ribbon - masculine with ribbon

Winter Blues...
There seems to be a lot of 'blue' challenges going on at the moment so I decided to build up my stock of baby boy/christening cards (hopefully there'll be some 'pink' challenges later on!!)
I've cut a blue crucifix using a template and matted it on silver mirri paper. Then it was a case of 'decorating' it using various gems and spangly stars - I love the colour of the blue square gem in the middle. The greeting was computer printed using tempus sans font.
I've entered this into the following challenges:
CASology - Blue
Creative Moments - monochrome
City Crafter - winter blues
The snow has now arrived in Sunderland alternating between blizzards and winter sunshine so I'm retiring to my crafty area for the rest of the day!
