Fantastic Creatures

Oh gosh - where has the last week gone? Cards have been made but I'm not getting the time to photo them and post!

Today's offering is for a young lad who loves unicorns...

I found the die and the patterned paper at The Range and I've tried to use as little of the pinky/lilac colour as possible to make it less 'girly'. The die really is super cute and it was only a pound!

I've mounted the unicorn onto matted star-shaped die-cuts and added a greeting in 'Mountains of Christmas' font created in Publisher.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

613 Avenue Create #212 - fantasy/magic
The Paper Shelter #349 - punches or dies WINNER!
Lil Patch of Crafty Friends #88 - anything goes
That's Crafty Challenge - animal magic
Hiding In My Craftroom #366 - use die-cuts
Brown Sugar Challenge #281 - fairies and fantasy
Craftaholics R Us #33 - anything goes

#SK8

Another card for a 12 year old - this time with a skateboard theme... or to get down with the kids #sk8!!

I really do need to get more masculine stash! I struggled again to find a suitable image but as always Google is your friend. I printed 3 copies of this pre-coloured image and decoupaged bits to add some depth.

The backing paper is from a really old Trimcraft pack and I created the greeting on the computer. The silver letters and numbers are from a pack from The Range. I've also used a Memory Box die to create the 'tread' effect - the actual die is rectangle shaped but I rough cut it in two for a more 'urban/grafitti' look.

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Craftoholics R Us - die cuts
Crafty Creations #347 - anything goes
Sisterhood of Crafters - boys to men (2nd entry)
Crafting By Designs - August anything goes
Paper Creator - anything goes
4 Crafty Chicks #362 - masculine

Awesome!

I needed to make a birthday card for a young lad who loves Lego - unlike me - I think it's evil, especially when you stand on a piece in bare feet!!

I found an outline image of a Lego man via google that works as a digi image and coloured him using primary coloured pro-markers. I then carefully fussy-cut him. For the background, I created a Lego 'base' using dark green card and lots of circles, using foam pads to create dimension...

As I was making this, all I could think of was that annoying 'Everything Is Awesome' song from the Lego movie - hence the greeting!

I'm entering this creation into the challenges at:

Brown Sugar #234 - anything goes
QKR Stampede #227 - one for the kids
Crafty Creations #333 - anything goes
Ooh - La - La Creations #220 - for a man or a boy
Creative Fingers #123 - anything goes
Outlawz Twisted Thursday - at the movies

Have A Super Birthday!

Happy Friday everyone - an exciting one for me as I'm off to Leeds for the weekend - a few drinks, some nice food, a touch of retail therapy and we're off to see a band on Saturday night.

But first - another fortnight has passed which means it's time for the next challenge at:

As usual the challenge is 'Anything Goes' which makes it so much easier to join in the fun! Our sponsor this week is the wonderful Nikole from Melonheadz.

I've used one of the fab 'super hero' images kindly provided by Melonheadz. I've added some brightly patterned papers from my stash to compliment the pro-markers I've used to colour the image and some punched stars. The greeting was created in Microsoft Publisher using Bebas font.

I'm also entering this card into the challenges at:

Seize The Birthday - bold and bright
Crafting With An Attitude #17 - anything goes
Addicted to Stamps #202 - make your mark
Little Red Wagon #350 - you're a star
Craft Your Passion #320 - anything goes
Love To Scrap Challenge #81 - twinkle twinkle little star

Thanks for popping in...
