New Job

It's been a while!

Life has taken over in the last couple of months and I've had no time for crafting. However the Bank Holiday weekend gave me some time to make a card for a friend who has just got a new Job...

What I used:

Letter Dies - from a charity shop - (one of my best finds ever!)

Patterned paper -from stash

Peel-off strips - from stash

Black pearls - from The Range

I kept the layout simple but used rainbow colours to make the letters pop.

I'm playing along with the challenges at:

As You See It Challenge #346 - gotta be peel-offs - I still use these a lot and they are often very cheap in 'bargain bins'. I have loads of sheets from when I first started crafting in around 2005. Very handy for stars, lines, lettering and numbers.

As You Like It - CAS or fussy and fancy

Always CAS - I find CAS cards are easier to 'design'. The less is more style is easy on the eye and easy to fit into envelopes. I love a lot of white (or even black) space - this can have more impact than loads of embellishments.

New Job - Hunkydory

The Range have been selling off a load of craft stuff very cheaply so I picked up some Hunkydory foiled Toppers and patterned card sets suitable for a variety of occasions...

What I used...

Sparkly topper and decorative strip - Hunkydory

Patterned papers - Hot Off The Press

Greeting - die cut circles and black peel-off letters

Matting - dull gold embossed paper

A simple design but the kit only cost 50p and I made 3 cards out of it.

I'm playing along with the 'anything goes' challenges at:

Something New...

One of my friends is so excited about starting a new job on Monday I had to make her a little something to celebrate the occasion using my fave 'new job' image, Lola Rose from Pink Petticoat (I don't think she is available anymore in this image :-(  ).

I've coloured her using pastel pro markers and used NitWit patterned papers and a pale pink paper. It still looked a bit plain so I added some card candi along the bottom.

I've entered this card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Something New
Simon Says Stamp - A New Something
Creative Inspirations - Celebration
