Free As A Bird

Today's card is for a lovely lady I work with who is retiring - I will miss her so much! I've gone with a tropical bird theme using a lovely stamp I got with a magazine and pretty patterned backing papers. The flowers were very carefully fussy-cut!

The inside message reads... 'Spread your wings, fly high, and enjoy a long and happy retirement'.

What I used:

Flower and bird stamps - both free with SC&P magazine

Coloured with - Spectrum Noir pens

Greeting - created with 'Splendid' font

Coloured pearls - The Range

I'm playing along with the challenges at:

Creative Inspiration Challenge #2 - AG

Fab N Funky Challenge #572 - things with wings

Creative Fingers #254 - AG

Triple B Challenge (May) - Birds Butterflies and Blooms

Retirement

Today's card is a clean and simple quickie for a work colleague who is retiring...

I've printed the greeting directly onto white card then simply added a fussy-cut image of 'Jim' (from the Digistamp Boutique) using foam pads. He's coloured with Pro-markers - a nice bright turquoise to match the border colour. It's quite a large card (A5) so the image was very easy to neatly cut - it's about 4 inches tall!

Sorry for the bad pic - the light is so bad here with the fog!

I'm entering this card into the challenges at:

Crafty Cardmakers #213 - for a man/boy
Dream Valley Challenge #180 - for a man/boy
Crafting By Designs - for the boys
Simply Create Too - for a male
Scribbles Designs Challenge #65 - make it masculine

Thanks for visiting

Enjoy Your Retirement!

There seems to be a lot of folk retiring lately - the place I work at is undergoing restructures in every department at the moment and a lot of people are taking advantage of early retirement and redundancy packages, This card is for Terry who I have lift shared with for the past 7 years, a great bloke who is looking forward to putting his feet up!

The image is the wonderful Jim from The Digistamp Boutique, stamped coloured and decoupaged - simple but effective. I've entered this into the following challenges:

Kaboodle Doodles - a project for someone older than me
Papelitos Stamps Challenge - masculine

A Relaxing Retirement

I really liked the effect of the greeting done in die-cut letters on my last card so I carried on with the same for today's card. I needed a retirement card large enough for lots of people to sign so ended up making a huge A4 card the only spec I had was something 'pretty and girlie' (obviously an early retirement and not an OAP!)

The digi is a delightful image of a lady relaxing with wine and chocs in a wonderful bubblebath - I found the image in a file called 'Digis 2008' and I'm afraid I don't know where it is from. I do wish people would label freebie digis with a name so that when you download them it records where they are from! I've coloured it using pastel promarkers and added a couple of gems to provide a bit of bling.

I've entered this card into the following challenges...

Papertake Weekly - something girlie
Make It Monday - anything goes
My Time To Craft - make it wet
