I think what irritates people is that there isn't a natural variation to whatever pattern it uses. And I don't really know why both patterns don't appear equally. Intuitively I just can't grasp how it can be so selective with the phrases it generates. |

If you can't make it, then Ticketmaster/whoever should be compelled to refund you, and then they can sell it again. The fact that they are all selling out displays demand for these gigs so it won't hurt TM/LN. They want to be a monopoly, then they have to live with the consequences. |

GPT-2 was obviously too dangerous to release at the time! It's OK-ish now, when the knowledge that AI can produce arbitrary text is widely shared. It would have been a disaster for scammers and phishers to get GPT-2 at a time when almost everyone still assumed that large volumes of detailed text proved there's a real human being on the other end of the conversation. |

I'm not arguing for ditching cheese either (I love cheese, esp goat cheese - which conveniently is often a more pleasant experience for the goats) but here is a recipe that I quite liked for a cheese-like cashew/brewer's yeast spread. I'm pretty sure I transcribed this correctly. Let me know if anything seems off :) Pimento Cheese Spread
Blend until smooth:
1c. water (may use water from pimentos)
¾ c. cashew nuts or sunflower seeds
2 T sesame seeds
1¼ tsp salt
3 T Brewer's yeast flakes
⅔ c. rolled oats (only if being used for lasagna)
1 tsp onion powder
⅛ tsp garlic powder
⅛ tsp dill seed
½ c. pimentos
¼ c. lemon juice (or to taste)
May add 2 T. arrowroot or cornstarch if used for spread |

I currently run the qwen3.5-122B (Q4) on a Strix Halo (Bosgame M5) and am pretty happy with it. Obviously much slower than hosted models. I get ~ 20t/s with empty context and am down to about 14t/s with 100k of context filled. No tuning at all, just apt install rocm and rebuilding llama.cpp every week or so. |

It's only natural that people are trying to determine the magical incantations required to get correct, consistent results. |

Anyone who's ever had to delegate DNS authority on anything other than an 8-bit boundary can understand the value of that feature. At face value, yeah, that's replacing "8" with "4," but from a practical perspective, delegating authority for a customer IPv4 /25 requires, at minimum, 128 records. (Granted, there's also no practical need to be stingy about IPv6 allocations -- that IPv4 /25 customer could simply receive an IPv6 /48.) I would firmly expect to see a lot more formulaic reverse (and presumably forward) DNS responses, where needed, since filling files with records you need to store on disk (and in memory) doesn't scale well. The tech has existed for years; I wrote my own implementation years ago, but these days I'd use something like PowerDNS with https://github.com/wttw/regexdns . |
