Shadow War Armageddon Ork German WW2 Themed Warband

Hello everyone!

As much as I want to update my blog more often, it seems that my free time has different opinion on that, hence my almost 2 month gap since my last update. But here I am with a finished project yet once more wanting to share it with you people.

Space Orks Evil Sunz Mek on deff-jetbike

Hello everyone!

Being on a creative spree I have decided to finish my latest project, something which I had a hard time deciding what eventually is, untill you people gave me a revelation. I present to you Mek Gitfixa on his deff-jetbike.

This model has started as a project more than 10 years ago. Yes, you heard that right. It has been sitting on my bench on various stages for more than a decade. It originally started as a count as deffcopta, back when they were first introduced as a unit choice. I wanted to field some but it was impossible to find a model since the only alternative was the original gorkamorka model which was even then extremely rare and oop.

I had always a great thing for conversions, especially orky ones. Orks were my very first Warhammer army and it really got me into modelling and converting all sorts of waky vehicles and individuals. So I decided to rummage my bits box for suitable bits to create a deffcopta model to use in my games.

The main model I used was an old Warzone jeep model (I really don't remember what model though, I will make my research and I will edit this article so keep an eye on this space, unless someone out there finds out earlier so please comment below if you remember :) ). The jet packs are 2nd edition ork pulsa rokkits, the chainsaws in front are Catachan saws from the Catachan Sentinel set, Rokkets are from an 1:48 figher jet kit and various bits from the ork boys sprue, includng the Mek boy itself, with sculpted googles to add character. There are various sculpted parts in the model to integrate all bits seamlessly in the final model.

I went with a typical Evil Sunz paint sceme, staying true to the mythos that Red ones go fasta, a machine like this must definitely go faster than anything else this Mek has ever created, although it will probably kill him eventually. I have tried some flame patterns and checkers both freehand and transfers to add to the final orkyness.

So there you have it. My first finished ork project for a long time, and I hope definitely not the last. I would love to hear what you people think. If you have any questions concerning the overall conversion process I would be happy to help so feel free to hit me with anything in the comments below. As always I would love to see your votes on CoolMiniOrNot

Till next time, take care!

Da kult uv speed - WIP Deffkopta/Jetbike/youtellmewhatthisis

Hello everyone, I know it's been a while since my last article but as always life had other plans leaving my hobby aside.
Trying to get my creative juices flowing once again, I have decided to finish a really old project of mine that I never had the chance to finish. My Deffcopta conversion.

Posting this on Facebook last night, a friendly commenter pointed out that it looks more than an orky jetbike more than anything else, so I may eventually go with that option. Any possible suggestions are more than welcome in the comments below ;)

The model is based on an old Warzone model and lots of various orky bits and gubbinz. I am going of course for a full old school evil sunz paint scheme.
The model is still a WIP, but you can get an idea of where I am going with this. I would really like to hear what you think.

Lastly, you may have already figured out by now the changes in the website layout. The site is also a WIP but I would also like to hear your comments so far.

Till next time, take care and have a good one!

Shit just got real...

I don't know what do you guys think about the new Escalation supplement but for me, I'm just happy that I finally got a good reason to build this bad boy and dust off my orks...!

Be ready for some stompin' action in the near future!

I also got some stuff waiting for the paint to dry in my desk, so keep your eyes peeled!

In the meantime, take a listen to these guys

Happy Birthday Warhammer 40K

Hello to everybody!

Following the previous post I will just apologize once more for the slowness of my posts lately. Hobby time has been less lately although I am trying to find some ... and one of the things I want to finish in the near future has to do with the 25th Anniversary of our beloved game... yes its a 40K year this one and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.

So the idea behind this one came from a friend of mine that is responsible for a small rumor mill disturbance in the Warp lately. ( http://natfka.blogspot.com/2012/02/6th-edition-25th-anniversary-book.html ) You see, this friend of mine is an employee in a local games shop that hosts most of our Tournaments and events here in Greece. Being an ages old veteran like myself (insert bragging jokes here :P ) he had an idea to create a homage to the History of Warhammer 40K on the store, mainly displaying all the rulebooks and some Rogue Trader minis, as well as some newer ones...

He asked me to contribute to this display ... and this is what my archaeological dig on my closet brought to the surface!

One of my favourite models of all times. The original Space Orks Battlewagon. I still use it as a truck in my Space Orks army... definitely needs some paint-loving though

These are some of the first Orks ever produced by GW. Got some metal ones in the front and some plastic ones in the back. I definitely got some more but I'm not sure where they are right now...

Do you have any anniversary modelling plans? I am also thinking of painting my original Ghazghull Thraka as a display model... will see!

As always some music that keeps me inspired!

Take care!!

Double the fun...

Yes I know, its been a long while since I have posted anything completed here... but as I have already said, life is always giving you things to get your hands full and this whole last month hasn't been an exception to that...

BUT I am ready to make it up for you with 2 brand new paintjobs I have just finished for a painting contest organized by the Greek Warhammer Forum and I would really like to get your feedback as they are painted for a contest as I said.

Ork Big Mek with Custom Force Field

This guy is one of my favourite GW sculpts and I really just needed a chance to get my brushes on him. I really had a blast painting him. I would love to see your votes on CMON as well!

Skaven Warlord Queek Headtaker

Another great mini, although I was kinda connected emotionally to the older version of him, I got him for a bargain and of course I couldn't resist some skaven painting. Maybe this would be the kick for me to get involved with my eternally building Skaven army again, who knows ... In the meantime, leave him a vote as well! ;)

Inspiration for these guys (especially for the ork) came out of these AWESOME band! They're stuck in repeat the past few days...

Another Tournament is over

... and what a great experience... with 34 people attending and loads of fun in a great place!

3 Battles were played in total, I got to play with Eldar (I can't seem to get away from them in tournaments...) Daemons and Imperial Guard. I got 2 victories with Eldar (yupeeee!!!) and Daemons (Ghaz got the title Daemonhunter from this battle, see the pic below) but got beaten by the Guard, from a very powerful and fast list with Vendettas and loads of Stormtroopers and veterans and of course meltas...!

One Bloodthirster down... 1 more to go :P

3 Great games and one helluva day full of gaming!! Can't wait for next time!! XD

One more tourney is over...

...and what a great time it was!! Our team placed second overall (I remind you it was a doubles tournament) and I must say I played one of the best battles with a rather interesting Ork army. As you can see from the pics it was a fully blown up Nob Biker Speed Freek WAAAGH!! with a double Warboss mayhem!!

Uhh... sir I think we may have a problem....!

It was so tense trying to take all these double wounded T5 frenzied killing machines, it almost made me homesick of my own orks ...

Heres a more panoramic view of the same caption, one click before the massive close combat started!

Things didn't go so well for my Termies lurking in the Raider (mainly due to my inability to roll my 2+ Armor saves... :S ) but the tides of the battle eventually turned mainly due to the great firepower that we had...

Great stuff... thats why I love this game so much!!

On to the painting table once again, more updates soon!!

Tourney time again!

Hey everybody! Just returned from a local 40K tournament and took the 1st place with me. I have to say that it was a real pleasure all the games and I had so much fun!

The best thing about this tourney was Snikrot! I must say that this guy just won a permanent place in my roster, at least for some games to come. Not the monster killing machine that one would expect but its a pain in the **s for the opponent and he killed more than his point cost in every game... and he is a ninja ork! what more can an ork player ask for? :P

Here are some pix:

Battlefortress WIP Part 4, time to throw some paint...!

Hi there everyone! I thought that I shoould post the next part of my Battlefortress WIP and this time is painting!

I thought that from the way the construction went and the shape of the vehicle finalized to a racing overall pattern (you know with the racing fin at the back - hope that I got this correct :P ) I thought that a GO FASTA red Evil Sunz pattern with some nice flames would be appropriate! So there it is, the monstrosity painted up!

Still there are quite a few things to be touched up and finish the project but more on this on the final part of this WIP marathon! :P

Ork Battlefortress part 2

As promised, here are some more WIP pics on my Battlefortress. The thing with this construction (as with all of my constructions as a matter of fact :P ) is that I didn't have a specific plan in my mind so I cannot post a reliable step by step guide. You'll have to figure things out of the pictures.

To make things a little bit easier I have dug out some older WIPs (before the armor plates were fixed) to give you an idea what I mean.

As you can see I have used a ton of bits from various sources including some 1:35 kits (the track system of a Sherman, a british WWII transport (I always forget its name :S) and some Panther tracks (kudos to the Antipope that figured out how I have created the deffrolla with the upside tracks. The thing that he couldn't figure out (and I bet noone can) is the fact that the main body of the deffrolla is taken from AXE Deodorant bottles :P

yes, its the top of the bottle ... :P

Hmmm, what else I can remember, ah yes... There is also a toy bulldozer in it, its the yellow parts and I must say that it fit the built perfectly.

So stay tuned for more updates as I continue the search of my Battlefortress dark history... :P

Ork Battlefortress

Hello! long time no see but this time I decided to go with something big. Well actually it's a project that I have finished for quite a long time now but since then a lot of things have changed to the actual model so I think that its still something new... anywayz enough with the blabbering and on to the pics:

These are some WIP pictures of my interpretation of an Ork Battlefortress. I had built it as a Battlewagon back in the day but when GW's weedy one came out I decided to use it as a Battlefortress instead.

I will continue with the WIP pics so keep in touch for more updates

The vile Ratmen and their (other) kin

With the release of the new Skaven Armybook I've decided to rebuild my Skave army starting with my all time favourite, the DoomWheel. I've only done some slight modifications like the banner and the scenic base, not wanting to change the retro feeling of the model. Tell me what you think.

I've also finished taking pictures of some of my ork army from the Tournament. Here's the first one, my Bad Moons Battlewagon. Feel free to leave me a comment or a vote on CoolMiniOrNot as well!
