Love is in the air....

Good Morning!

There's a new challenge over at Fantasy Stampers challenge blog.

The theme is Love is in the air, here's my design team inspiration...

I struggled with this theme a bit, because I don't have anyone to send a valentines card to, so I mainly ignore it and pretend I think it's a waste of time and just a ploy to get us to spend money....I'm such a ray of sunshine!

But actually it doesn't have to be about valentines day does it, there's the love of life, love of good and true friends, family, the dog, chocolate!

I also love Mica powder on black card, and my Arty Heart and Leafy Swirl Claritystamps.

You have almost 2 weeks to join in the challenge, so pop over and see what the other design team members made to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Peace and LOVE!

Workshop Wednesday #1

Afternoon!

As there was no Groovi Tuesday this week, we need a Workshop Wednesday instead, usually it will just be a little peek at a project I've done in a workshop, past or present, but as today is the first one we'll have a step by step...

Grab your Lapwing stamps ready and a piece of Clarity stencil card.

Using Cobalt archival ink, stamp the lapwings in place, take note of where the big fella is at the bottom, cover the birds with masks. Put a border of low tac tape around all four sides and put a moon mask in place.

Prepare your Brayer with Clover adirondack ink

Brayer the sky, then the bottom area too, leave a nice band of white through the middle though.

Using the Tangle stencil and clarity brushes, add a little texture to the bottom area only, just sweep gently in one direction from the bottom of the stencil upwards.

Remove the moon mask and replace with the aperture part instead, gently add a little weathered wood ink along one side of the moon.

Remove all masks and masking tape.

Use a marker or pencil to add shade to the birds, note, I used an alcohol marker even though I stamped with archival, I was very very careful not to touch the stamped line art with the marker or it could make it bleed and ruin my pen.

Terrible shadow on this pic, sorry!

The finished one is a bit better, but I'll never be a photographer.

Hope you like it, the class did once they got over the fear of the Brayer, funnily enough Barbara mentions fear of the Brayer on her blog today, Dave's strategy made me laugh!

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully see you Friday for another piece of bodged artwork from heartbreak corner.

Clean and simple Christmas

Good Morning and happy Friday!

It's the halfway point in the clean and simple Christmas challenge over at Fantasy Stampers, here's my card...

I used my large leafy swirl from Clarity, and a really old bauble stamp.

I used Cornflower archival ink for nice detailed stamping.

I have made a batch of these because they are so quick to make.

There's some lovely ideas from the other dt ladies, so pop over to Fantasy Stampers and have a look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great day. X

Flower Fairy

Good evening!

Yes fairies again...

But they are super cool aren't they, I've been using them for very quick cards that I can batch make fast, this is one...

The floral stamp is a New Design Club Claritystamp from a few months ago, I love this one so much. I just stamped the flowers twice in Sky Blue archival ink, stamped the cheeky fairy then stamped part of a sentiment stamp, job done!

I spotted a couple of challenges to enter...

Craftycatz Fantasy

Timeout challenges CAS & black,white plus 1

Sisterhood of crafters come fly with me

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

Wishes

Good Morning, yes it's not noon yet...

The sun is shining again, which makes me happy, and using up painty scraps off my table with my pretty new fairiy wee folk stamps also makes me happy.

I have enough bits on my desk from playing with distress paint to do a batch of these quickly, I have a couple of charities that are due some cards but it's tricky when time is short, so I'm happy to use this sketch.

And I'm especially happy when my card fits the following challenges

Clean and Simple sketch

Less is More makes you happy

Marble and Shells

Good morning!

And a big Hello to my new followers, I'm glad you found me!

I'm busy this week working on Samples for Barbara's tv shows for May and prep for my class on Saturday, what are you up to?

I had a dig around to see what I have that it's ok to show you...not a lot, because most of what's here is to be kept under wraps for now.

I did find this though..

Does the background look a bit like Brightly coloured Marble?

I used a couple of Mica colours and Gilding on Adhesive sheet.

I coloured the Clarity Shell Cluster with Distress Markers, Barbara is now stocking them on the Claritystamp website, so if your a New Design Club member you can get your discount on them!

Thanks for stopping by!
