I cannot for the life of me recall the name of this tree, located in Edgeworth David community gardens, Hornsby NSW...but it was certainly eye-catching. Natural sandstone outcrop utilised in a community garden as a boundary. The council decided to caulk it with cement to prevent erosion by collecting water in the natural fissures. One wonders that they couldn't have coloured the filler a bit...

That's quite the texture going on there! This was taken so long ago (it's a scanned print) I don't recall the variety of cactus. Sydney Botanic Gardens has quite the range.
