I would just like to nominate Dr. Katayoun Hashemi (right), our Iranian American Medical Association - Texas Chapter President. Thru her leadership and passion for the Iranian community and medicine we have accomplished such things as breast cancer screenings for the iranian community, established a student committee for the young iranian professional students as a means of networking and building a community, Cholesterol screenings for the Iranian community, established information booths at 13bedar to promote health awareness for the Iranian community and promoting networking of Iranian professionals, and along with Dr. Tabassi, MD, they have published health related articles in the are Iranian magazine to promote health awareness. She is the kind of person I strive to be like, I look up to her greatly. In short, she is an amazing mentor, friend, president, physician, and most importantly IRANIAN OF THE DAY!!! >>> More (1) (2) (3)
