Which Shoe? Witch's Shoe!

Vandaag m'n laatste bijdrage als GDT-lid voor Shopping Our Stash. Weer een hele leuke challenge deze keer, #174, Halloween! Ik heb helaas dit jaar erg weinig gemaakt, terwijl ik het juist zo'n gaaf thema vind! Combineer dat met mijn voorliefde voor schoenen en voilà, de heksenschoen is geboren ;-) Papier is van MME, de 'spinnewebvleugels' gemaakt met een stans van Memory Box:

Unfortunately I have not been able to create much for Halloween, although I'm so fond of the theme! Halloween and my huge love of shoes made me create the witch's shoe ;-) Papers from MME, the "spider web wings" were made with a Memory Box die:

Wicked Witch...

Ik denk dat de aanhoudende regen van de afgelopen tijd mijn inspiratiebron zijn geweest voor deze kaart (en het feit dat we het nu zooooooo druk hebben op het werk dat ik wel eens zou willen heksen ;-) De herfst komt er langzamerhand aan en Halloween ook! Ik neem jullie mee naar het huis van de Wicked Witch. Ze leeft in een naargeestig huis in het Zwarte Woud, donkere luchten hangen om haar heen en de maan werpt mysterieuze blikken op haar:

I think the incessant rains must have given me the inspiration for my card (and the fact that we're now sooooooo extremely busy at work that I'd like to indulge in witchcraft every now and then ;-) Autumn is gradually creeping up on us and so is Halloween! I'm taking you to the cottage of the Wicked Witch. She lives in a gloomy cottage in Black Forest, surrounded by dark skies and mysteriously overlooked by the moon:

Ze heeft haar eigen paarse lucht gebrouwen door een wit vel papier met distress inkt te bewerken en daarop magisch water te sprenkelen. Ze heeft zelfs haar eigen maan gemaakt door een cirkel uit te knippen en diverse kleuren distress inkt te gebruiken (geel/oranje). Daarna heeft ze haar toverstaf ter hand genomen en haar naam in de lucht geschreven zodat de magische dieren in het bos haar huisje makkelijker kunnen vinden. Ze is trouwens niet zo 'wicked' hoor, jullie zijn van harte welkom in haar huisje, mits jullie de deurklopper durven te gebruiken ;-)

She has concocted her own purple sky by inking up a white sheet (with distress ink) and sprinkling some magical water on it. She even created her own moon by cutting out a circle and using different colours of distress ink (yellow/orange). She then took her wand and wrote her name in the sky, making it easier for all the magical creatures in the forest to find her. By the way, she's not that wicked, you're all most welcome to enter her cottage, provided you use the door knocker, if you dare ;-)

Trick or Treat, Hide and Seek!

Sorry sorry dat ik de laatste paar dagen niet in blogland ben geweest, keek scheel van de hoofdpijn... Het is nog niet helemaal weg, maar hopelijk zorgt een glaasje rode wijn voor de rest ;-) Ik kom van het weekend graag weer bij jullie langs!! Heb net toch nog even een herfsttafereeltje in elkaar geflanst:

So very sorry for being MIA the past couple of days, I had a nasty headache which simply wouldn't take a hike... It still hasn't quite left my system, but hopefully a nice glass of red wine will see to that ;-) I will pop over to your blogs during the weekend to see what you've all been up to!! Made this little Autumn scene just now:

Dit schattige heksje deed me denken aan hoe kinderen altijd verstoppertje spelen, je kent het wel, ze gaan achter het gordijn staan en roepen dan keihard "zoek me dan, je kunt me toch niet vinden!"

This cute little witch reminded me of how children always play hide and seek. You know how they love to hide behind the curtain and scream out loud "Come try and find me, you don't know where I am!"

De pompoen is supersimpel om te maken, gewoon allemaal reepjes papier knippen, aan elkaar plakken, een stukje lint door al die cirkeltjes rijgen en vastknopen, voilà! Kennen we vast nog wel van de kleuterschool, toch? 

It's extremely easy to make this pumpkin, just cut out lots of paper strips, glue the ends together, pass a ribbon through all these circles and tie a knot, that's it! We probably all made one of these during our kindergarten days, right?

Witchcraft

Geloven jullie in spoken en heksen? Ik wel! Zeker sinds m'n lamp kapot sprong toen ik deze tag op de foto wou zetten ;-) Het paars is dus op de foto helaas lila geworden en natuurlijk was de heks al met de post weggevlogen voordat ik een nieuwe foto kon maken. Die bezems van tegenwoordig hebben ook allemaal turbo-motoren! Deze sexy heks vond ik op Deviantart (getekend door Sephiramy) en heb haar naar de man van m'n vriendin gestuurd die morgen jarig is. Ben benieuwd of zij hem weet te betoveren en in haar spinnenweb weet te vangen ;-)

 Do you girls believe in ghosts and witches? I most certainly do! Especially since my lamp went bust when I was trying to photograph this tag ;-) So unfortunately the deep purple has turned into lilac and of course the witch flew off by mail before I even got the chance to take a new picture. Those modern brooms all have turbo engines! I found this sexy witch on Deviantart (art by Sephiramy) and sent her off to my friend's husband who'll be celebrating his birthday tomorrow. Will she be able to enchant him and ensnare her in her web ;-)

Ik kon het niet laten om onze hal toch nog een beetje in Halloweensfeer te brengen en heb nog een krans gemaakt en een dame gedecoreerd:

 I couldn't resist bringing some Halloween atmosphere into our hallway and so I made this wreath and decorated a lady's head:

De krans is bekleed met zwarte stof en versierd met herftstbladeren, tule, kant en allerlei andere frutsels die ik hier nog had liggen:
I wrapped some black fabric around the wreath and dressed it with autumn leaves, tulle, lace and all kinds of riffraff that was lying around:

En we blijven nog even in het Halloween-sfeertje, want van de week vond ik deze prachtige envelop uit Finland op de deurmat, moet je die stempels zien! Te gek hè? - And some more Halloween to come, for last week I received this gorgeous envelope all the way from Finland on our doorstep, just look at those stamps! Aren't they way too cool?

En dit geweldige Halloween-pakket heb ik gewonnen bij Niina van Thrify Finn, met prachtig papier, gave stempels, mooi lint en washi-tape. Niina heeft een supergaaf blog en een geweldig gevoel voor humor, neem maar eens een kijkje bij haar, zal ze leuk vinden! Nogmaals heel hartelijk bedankt!!
And here's what I found inside, these amazing Halloween goodies which I won from Niina (Thrifty Finn), with the coolest of papers, stamps, beautiful ribbons and washi tape. Niina has a supercool blog and a marvellous sense of humour, why not pay her a visit, she'd love that! Thanks again for everything!

A Spooktacular Party!

Ja, misschien denken jullie nu wel: jemig, wat een bizarre kaart heeft ze op haar blog geplaatst? En ja, dat is eigenlijk ook wel zo, maar ja, wat doe je als je een zwager hebt die binnenkort jarig is en óók nog eens behoorlijk verzot is op horror? Tja, die krijgt dus deze kaart ;-) Hij ligt vast helemaal in een deuk als-ie deze ziet! (dat doet-ie al bij die films!) Zelfs de kat ontbreekt niet (daar is-ie namelijk ook nogal zot van). En ik ben op mijn beurt weer helemaal idioot van die prachtige Memory Box dies!
I don't blame you girls, you surely must be thinking "what has she put up on her blog this time!" Quite bizarre really, come to think of it... But hey, what can a girl do when she has a brother-in-law who'll be celebrating his birthday this weekend and who's also completely "into horror" (such movies makes him scream with laughter!). So you see why I had to make him this card, he'll probably die of laughter! Even the cat's there (another favourite of his). And I'm completely smitten with those gorgeous Memory Box dies!

De spinnen beginnen al flink hun best te doen in de tuin en dan kan je er gewoon niet meer omheen, Halloween is in aantocht! Ik heb - letterlijk - een "boeken-kist" gemaakt met een template die ik hier heb gevonden. Heb voor de basis het Tim Holtz kraftcore gebruikt, beetje opgeschuurd en toen beplakt met design papier (My Mind's Eye "Haunted", een verjaardagscadeautje van mijn goede vriendin Tracy omdat ze weet dat ik zo dol ben op Halloween! In deze boekhandel kunnen heksen terecht voor al hun spreukenboeken, het winkeltje is al wel wat in verval geraakt, alles hangt schots en scheef, maar je kunt er vinden wat je nodig hebt! En da's voor een heks toch het allerbelangrijkste!
Spiders are working their way around the garden and that's a sure sign for me that Halloween is on its way! I - literally - made a book coffin with a template I found here. For the base I used Tim Holtz kraftcore, sanded it a bit and glued some of the wonderful design papers on it (My Mind'sEye "Haunted", which was a birthday present from my dear friend Tracy because she knows all about my fondness of Halloween!). In this bookstore witches can search for their books of spells, the store is dilapidated and everything is topsy turvy, but a good witch knows what to find here! Which really is what a witch wants! (do try to pronounce this rapidly 50 times in a row, lol!)

Ik kan niet heksen! Haunted!

Toen ik enige tijd geleden door de zeer getalenteerde Tracy en Jan van Papercraft Star werd gevraagd om hun Guest Designer van deze week te zijn, zei ik direct enthousiast "ja, graag!" Het is jullie natuurlijk nog niet opgevallen dat ik zo weg ben van Halloween ;-) Het thema van deze week is "Halloween - A Trick or A Treat - Anything Haunted". Iedere week kun je prachtige afbeeldingen downloaden bij Papercraft Star, ga er maar eens een kijkje nemen! Bedankt Jan en Tracy, ik vind het enig om deze week bij jullie te zijn! Terug naar de challenge van deze week: we weten allemaal dat heksen zich graag op een bezem verplaatsen, maar wat sommigen van jullie misschien NIET weten is dat er heksen van hoge komaf zijn, ja, zelfs uit aristocratische kringen komen! En déze heksen verlagen zich natuurlijk niet tot dit alledaags vervoer! Nee, zij maken gebruik van hun pompoenen-koetsen! Dat doen ze al sinds mensenheugenis. Koetsen die zijn voorzien van spinnenwebwielen, deze zorgen voor extra hoge snelheden! Maar zelfs de koetsen voor deze hooggeplaatste heksen worden verder ontwikkeld. Het laatste model onder de pompoenen-koetsen is deze versie, compleet voorzien van turbo kaarslicht injectoren! Deze heks is heerseres van de lucht! Met zo'n koets wordt het heksen wel erg gemakkelijk gemaakt! Voor de turbo kaarslicht injectoren heb ik gebruik gemaakt van de Tim Holtz Candlelight Fright Die, toen ik die zag wist ik meteen dat die perfect zou zijn voor wat ik in gedachten had. De heksenhoed heb ik met de hand uitgeknipt, de pompoen trouwens ook (en in 3D gelaagd). De spinnenwebwielen zijn uitgestanst met Nellie Snellen stansen en ik heb het spinnenweb op vellum gestempeld.

Of course you girls haven't noticed anything my fondness for Halloween;-) The theme this week is "Halloween - A Trick or A Treat - Anything Haunted". Every week you can download the most wonderful freebies at Papercraft Star, you might want to check them out! Thanks for hosting me Jan and Tracy! Love to be your GD this week! Back to this week's challenge: we all know witches use broomsticks while travelling, but what we may NOT know is that there are some very high placed witches, of aristocratic descent, that will never stoop down to flying a broomstick, which to them is such an ordinary means of transportation! No, they have taken their pumpkin carriages for ages! With spiderweb wheels for high speed velocity! But even for witches times move forward. The latest model among pumpkin carriages has turbo candlelight injectors! This witch is definitely ruling the skies! With a carriage like this, haunting is made a LOT easier!

For the turbo candlelight injectors I used the Tim Holtz Candlelight Fright Die, the moment I saw it I just knew this die would be perfect for what I had in mind! The witch hat is hand cut as is the pumpkin. The pumpkin wheels are cut with Nellie Snellen dies and I stamped the spiderweb on vellum.
