T Stands for... JUMP!!! And Make A Wish (where is a T?)
New Year´s Eve at my family´s place, 1979.
We are German (partially, Mum, and certainly Granma, you see her behind the candles!, came from Prussia/Poland).
Our parents had their own shop (now my Brother´s) and sold so many SEIKO-watches, they were invited to Japan and brought back all this stuff (those are real kimonos).
So, this is what we had: Japanese clothing and the darn German fondue, each and every un-Japanese-year.
A big pot with hot fat on a flame, "wonderful" for a person like me, who is afraid of fire, sitting in the corner, far away from the door, too!
I hated that! (But Dad lost my food for me in that pot - you know the rule? Loose food in that you have to fulfill a wish or have a drink. Hmm... guess...).
No, it was nice of Dad, he accepted I cannot get near to that horrible thing!
Later...
We stepped up onto the fireplace (fire, AGAIN!!! My family tortured me!) on the very last minute of the year, grabbed each other´s hand and JUMPED into the New Year, gave a kiss and wished each other luck... "and much more", as Dad wrote down here.
These were the 70´s, right? Women? Hmmm, can they do it right??? Dad wasn´t really sure!
Hence, Mum had to take the proper pic (see the fire burning???), showing Dad explaining it once again and afterwards we went out to do... fireworks (not my liking as in LOUD and fire and hot).
Yes, we wore winter clothes! Back in the 70´s we still had snow for the season and it was cold!
Reckon Dad lost too many food pieces of mine, looking at the hand writing here! ;-)
This is for you to JUMP, if you like, whilst holding hands, kiss and make wishes and also for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday" - please notice the golden glasses filled with sparkling wine!
A Happy New Year to you!
No Lion - pics are from Seesen, my old home town - and Henry is out and about soon anyways!
Just have a read/let me explain shortly:
Henry, the Lion, when the last light went out, the last sparkling wine enjoyed, steps off of his place.
He passes the uni, the White Horse and walks on to the PTB, that makes the time for Europe.
Maybe he can sneak a bit of a drink, too!
Better not.
He walks back, each year, says thanks and before dawn jumps back in his place - no one is allowed to see him walking, right?!
But when you see him, standing firm again on his platform, as if nothing had happened, please say "it was a wonderful year!" - he will be happy to hear you saying this, and hopefully it was true, too.
"Das war ein super Jahr!"
This is from the book...
Why ever they chose a groundhog for this...
To a great 2020!
OH! You certainly count down the seconds, too, before you jump!

Thank You
Mural taken at BraWoPark, Braunschweig.
Weee, time flies, Sami is back!
I admit I am one week behind, but getting no sleep I am up 04.-something and joining Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals!!!
It was a rather weird year (again), but I wanna say thank you to all those who stopped by here, left a comment and made me smile with their posts so often, too.
(OK, this was a give-away Ingo got in a parcel.
He ordered super-magnets for work. Yes, from his private money as it would´ve taken way more efford to get the money back or the items via that company, just don´t ask...
And he gave it to me!).
To a new, mostly fun and happy year of living and blogging, right?
Lion of the day?
He is in the first pic, again.
I´d like to add a little story to that ring in the first pic, too.
We wear them on the left hand. No, we´re not engaged, we´re married. But this happened in Perth (holiday was long booked before we decided to marry), so the left hand it is.
We bought the rings there, too.
I expected it is just like here in Germany, wedding rings look the same.
Haaaa, no. The woman gets a huge one, with a fancy stone, whatever, the man a plain one, I was told. You do not find those "wedding-ring-stands"!
NO!
We found - two days before getting married (yes, we were late) two matching "men"-rings, I took the smallest, but it was still too big.
At home my Brother made the wedding-engravings and had to hang on with his full body weight to make mine smaller.
It´s titanium, produced in WA, Western Australia.
So: To let´s being tough in hard situations, right?
And gentle blog-wise....

Some Men Give, Think And Do
So the pre-Christmas pressie from Ingo aka "fake" fireplace (as I am afraid of real fire) moved to the left of my PC now!
It warms my soul and my heart (and I helped a wee bit, too).
There are sweet men around, huh, or were, please have a read here, what a brilliant idea Freddie had:
More is to come.
And I think Freddie´s idea should maybe go for every party with pressies involved, what do you think?
Lion of the day was in the first pic :-)

Against The Grey
Days are grey again, so here is a bit of joy and sun!
And sun, kinda, we had in November, too, this is the first time I spotted him:
Always on the run, that cutie-pie!
So, the sun we have inside...
Well, as in have had.
In grey weather we went to the hardware store.
Tomorrow my (fake) fireplace will move to the wall!
I leave you with a Lion of the day who is standing on The Kö:
Thank you, Valerie! :-)
Happy weekend!
Addendum, question: Should I buy some catnip to carry with me or not? If yes, what and how to give it to him, lay on the ground or put it in my stretched hand?

Blinded By The Light
Christmas is over (sorry if you got another earworm with that title now (clap your hands)!).
People today will storm out and give back pressies they did not like.
Remember the good ole days?
I never, (OK I was a kid) would´ve given anything back (I just left dolls and stuff behind). It´s the THOUGHT that counts for giving pressies, no?
A last...
A cat-lover. A legend.
We storm out, too.
I accidentailly crashed a tube by the sink :-(
AND! We need a lille shelf for a pressie I got in November from Ingo, for now it sits on Lack (IKEA):
Hmmm, doesn´t it make you feel cozy?
Lion of the day:
Thank you, Elizabeth and Bleubeard !
Soon some Irish Lions will show up here, too!
Henry sure feels warm with such friends from around the world!
(Feel free to say hello via flaviakaiser@gmx.de, Henry loves to share his friends here!)
Taking part in Tom´s Foto Tunes :-)

Meow
I came from grocery shopping and there he or she stood on the other side of the street.
I stopped and enjoyed.
I think it´s a boy, it´s the way he looked at me.
He meowed.
I said, "hello, you" (well, as in "Hallo, du") and he made his way up to me, more talking from his side, more big smiles from mine.
Mind you, a dog and you´d see me running (which is stupid), but here now?
He came right up to me, talking some more, cuddling up at my legs, so I bent down and asked if I may pet him?
"Meow", I took it as a yes.
A stray? Well fed, so reckon a guy just out for a stroll?
I petted him some more, he then looked up and just left.
And I went home smiling.
One day, I tell you, one day I´ll have a cat!
I mean, I, we, live in the city of a very big cat after all!
Maybe this lille meetup was a pressie from Santa - this was on 23rd already, though, the old man was a tad early with me ? ;-)
I hope to meet him, the cat (or her after all?) again!
With my lille Nice though... on 24th, when we celebrate Christmas here in Germany, this happened:
- "Hello Auntie Iris!!!" (on the the phone)
- Hi J, you looking forward to meet Santa?"
- "... hmmmm..."
- "Bet he´s got loads of pressies for you!"
- "... hmmmm..."
- "You´ve been a good girl, right?"
- "... hmmmm..."
History repeating itself, LOL!
Yes, here it´s...
I was good, I nearly got a cat!
I have one!!
A tiger is a cat, too, right?
And they are early birds, it IS 03:10 a.m. - weird, but we are wide awake...
Bet Santa made some noise again!

T Stands For PoTaTo FriTTer On A Wendesday... And We Have A Sign, Too!
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate but today!
And isn´t it fun to have a meal with one or more T´s in it when it´s (a belated) T-Day?
I went to the Christmas market early so I won´t stand in a queue like forever and had potato fritters with apple sauce.
You see in a minute why (I once tried sour cream, brrrr, icky!!!)
This stand I went to with my colleagues back then. Always full to the brim, a good sign.
As a new addition they have this:
They don´t use any plastic anymore.
And they have cute deco, too!
Apple for someone who keeps claiming sweets aren´t welcome, HA.
No, I´m no liar. Potato fritters go with apples. No discussion! I asked for a mini-bit only (and another T-Day I tell you the end of the story).
Since I was early they were still working on it (hello. 10:00 a.m. opening is 10:00 a.m. all is ready to me, old German I am!).
So I went to get something to drink.
I wanted to try egg nogg. Not ready.
Are you kidding me?!
But the apple stuff was hot and I was cold, my drink of the day:
I spotted some lille Lions, weeee, the place was packed with kindy- and school kids from the villages!!!
And when bringing back the glass I... well, it looked sooo beautiful, I took a bottle home!
It is a bit like beer only, so Ingo may have it, also.
Buy another one as a pressie?
No.
I know no-one who really appreciates a Henry that much.
But here you can read about it:
Hope you spotted all The Lions of the day?
On this Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday".
And this is for Tom´s "Signs 2".
Merry Christmas, have a yummy one!

T Stands for Merry ChrisTmas 2006 And Today
After our journeys throughout Australia we took a break, but decided to come back 2006 to our fav city, Perth (now, that was a surprise, huh? ;-)...).
We picked December and hence were not home for Christmas.
My Mum did really take all the time and efford to make the yummiest Christmas-goose before Christmas, according to the look and smile... it was for Ingo :-)
And she added kale, too, as she knew we just loooove that, also!
My Brother once tried to make that goose after Mum was gone.... no.
She took her secret with her.
This pic might explain why Ingo uses parts of her name for log-ins.
I leave you with a Christmas tree:
And I wish I´d bought this (but it would´ve been just more stuff, huh, so a pic is all you get):
Kiss someone! :-)
I´m wishing you a Very Happy Christmas.
To our loved ones!
(Mum even made sure to have a Christmassy tablecloth and had her wedding dinnerware on. Dad is gone since 2002.)
Yes, We celebrate on 24th in the evening. Santa cannot be everywhere at the same time, right?
To drink?
And more to add, too...
This is for Elizabeth and Bleubeard´s "T Stands For Tuesday".
Lion of the day:
A Merry Christmas with jungle-chocolate for the sweet lovers here!
(Yes, I always have something here in case to give a spontanous thanks to someone)
