I´d like to go to Burnley on a windy day!
Wiki says: "The Singing Ringing Tree is a wind powered sound sculpture resembling a tree set in the landscape of the Pennine hill range overlooking Burnley, in Lancashire, England..."
Just listen (not only hear):
Dad´d turn 87 today.
Only 6 more years to go...
And for ...
Eileen...
We visited those cute animals in 2019.
Never too hot for me 🥰
Too hot for some, maybe, on a different level, though... found at FB yesterday:

"We are partners. We are very close partners. We have to be fair. We have to be very free," said Zelenskyy, sounding far more like an American president than Donald Trump did today.
This is an astonishing display of statesmanship. Rather than give into ego or pettiness, Zelenskyy is rising above Donald Trump's childish bullying to serve his people.
Zelenskyy isn't interested in following Trump down into the gutter. He's interested in securing a lasting peace for his innocent embattled country, a task made all the more difficult by Trump's kowtowing to Vladimir Putin.
Zelenskyy is also correct that these conversations should take place behind closed doors instead of being exploited to create a media circus. Trump and Vance ambushed him in the Oval Office in front of reporters because they knew that it would make headlines and entertain their base.
They are not serious leaders. Zelenskyy is."
The series:
"Not just cars: these things were invented in Germany
In 1897, Karl Ferdinand Braun built the first cathode ray tube (CRT) and the cathode ray tube oscilloscope, which became the cornerstone in the development of fully electronic television. To this day, the CRT is called the 'Braun tube'."

Hello Iris,
The sound sculpture is cool, it would be nice to see and hear it in person. Quokkas, I have never heard of this critter. They are cute. Lovely photo of you in Rotto, I hope it was a hot day. I am not a fan of our current leader and I do not agree with anything that he does. The photo of Henry is beautiful, love the closeup of his face. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
My Niece, back then 10, exclaimed, "ewww, they look like giant rats!".
But no, they always seem to smile.
Sadly it was so hot, they hid in the shade mostly and second you are to respect that they are wild animals and not touch.Sadly many did...
To a great weekend, sunny, if cold here.
The Singing Ringing Tree sounds incredibly unique, and the photos of Quokkas are adorable.
...I stand with Ukraine.💛💙
I’ll have to listen to the singing tree later, but it appears to be very intriguing. I always like art works that “harness” the wind.
I’m enjoying your series on inventions made in Germany.
best… mae at maefood.blogspot.com
That sculpture is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the video!
Yes, to both!
Yes, please do! I found a cool way to help here.
Thank you and yes, it is great art.
Turn on the sound then!
Oh I would love to see and even more so, hear that sound tree. It's almost eerie, but very cool. And yes, Zelenskyy is far more adult than our president. Our president is like a little kid who says whatever enters his mind without filtering, lies, reacts and is clueless about the average American. Plus he's rude to everyone, especially our good neighbors Canada and Mexico. Saying all that, have a super rest of your weekend Iris. hugs-Erika
Loved the singing sculpture and all the cute critters!
Yes, it is embarrassing. And I fail to understand why he can ignore the Budapest Memorandum! Why is no one interfering? And why no one dares to correct him Or what he wants with/from Putin. Putin is not democracy...
But, all we can so is look on or help online. Hugs and to a great weekend anyways...
All a lot of fun! :-)
I would like to hear that sculpture too, Iris.
Love that critter.
he Singing Ringing Tree sounds like such a fascinating place, and what a poetic connection to it with your message. The wind-powered sculpture must create such a unique atmosphere there, especially on a windy day—I'm sure it’s quite mesmerizing.
Happy 87th to your dad, a wonderful milestone! Celebrating Silver Wedding anniversaries is always special too, and it sounds like there are many joyful memories tied to those milestones.
Visiting cute animals in 2019 must’ve been fun too—those kinds of simple joys always stick with us.
It seems like there's a wonderful mix of reflection and celebration in your words. Hope you have many more moments to cherish like these!
Yes, reckon our ears can do it better.
Aren´t you kinda a bit "near" the tree?
Thank you. So hard to imagine he could be 87! He could´ve met his Grandkids...
Yes, those Quokkas are sure all "smiles".
Well, if bringing sunflowers to Dad´s grave is a celebration, then, yes, to Dad!
I like that singing ringing tree. But sad to hear only six more years
Yes, to both. He passed at age 65.... Darn cancer, that.
The singing sculpture is amazing. Cute critters, new to me. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you, Bill, a wonderful weekend to you, too, was all sunny here!
That singing sculpture is amazing.
I enjoyed your collection of critters.
All the best Jan
You´re welcome.
Zelenskyy has more class in his little finger than that orange piece of turd.
The singing tree is amazing!
You have an Auntie Gerda? My sister's middle name is Gerda. And whenever my mum went back to visit her mum she was helped by a travel agent named Helmut.
My dad would be 100 if he'd lived.
That singing tree is amazing, I heard the music between the winds.
Quokkas looking like giant rats is how Rottnest Island got its name, I think it was named by the Dutch but can't be sure about that. When I visited back in 2013 I waded in the water at that same spot 😃
They say you can see his balls from space! ;-)
Yes, I´d like to visit it for real...
Yes, she was my fav Auntie, sadly we lost contact. She lives in Switzerland. Yes, the pic shows Helmut and Gerda... 100... My Brother was at Elisabeth´s 99th Birthday last week - more fit like many 20 years younger, he said!
Yes, Rottnest Island is named after the "rats" and even Niece back then called them rats!
But then... tame rats are cute, too!
LOL - 2013 I was on Penguin Island... we keep missing each other!
Hello Iris :)
Fascinating wind sculpture. When I first saw the picture I thought it was some kind of fish sculpture.:)
Cute looking creatures, new to me. Thank you Iris for your interesting post.
The singing ringing tree is amazing, I've visited it a couple of time as we live in Lancashire 😊.I've even created a page and posted about it here:
