Say It With Flowers

Coooooeeeey!
I hope you all had a fab n' groovy Christmas and that Santa was kind.
Technically I have enough bubble-bath to last until 2018 (that's as long as fav' daughter stays at uni') and in colours and scents that will make me almost good enough to eat 😆

My card today features a beautiful stamp from WPlus9's 'Botanical Bunch' set. Sheesh, I ummed n' arrred over whether or not to buy this stamp set for ages (it's the Libran in me), putting it in my basket, taking it out again, faffing about like the procrastinator I am.

Honestly, don't EVER ask me to make instant life or death decisions...you'd die of boredom waiting for an answer.
Anyway...I digress...I bought it...eventually...and then stressed about 'had I done the right thing?'. Honesty, it's not easy being me you know.

So I think it's pretty clear how I made this card. I masked off a circular area on my piece of card and a strip through the middle. I used my MISTI to stamp the large floral stamp inside my circle. You don't need a MISTI for this but it does make it so much darned easier for getting your stamp in the right place and for re-stamping if it isn't inked up perfectly first time.

With all the masking removed, I added the recipients name, using Altenew's Calligraphy Alpha stamps, Wink of Stella glitter and purple sequins and stuck the whole lot to my card base....job done!

So 2016 is almost over.
I hope 2017 is kinder to all the good people on our precious planet...including you, you gorgeous lot.
Happy New Year!!

Christmas Cards Galore

A whole heap of festive cards to share with you today.

I totally stole this idea from Jennifer Mcguire, using her 'Sentiment Backdrop' technique. The sentiment on each card is from Paper Smooches' 'Christmas Sampler' set, the Polar Bears are from MFT's 'Polar Bear Pals' and Santa is from their 'Merry Everything' set.  You can see how to do this technique here

For this card I used 'Festive Fir Cones' Majestix stamps from Card-io and a host of Versa Colour inks cubes. The sentiment is from Winnie and Walter's 'The Big, The Bold, The Merry'.

I used these stamps last year on some Christmas cards and I love it. It's 'Festive Greetings' from WPlus9.

A handful of simple, glittery foliage cards using MFT's 'Leafy Greenery' die set.

Another one using MFT's 'Merry Everything'.

MFT's 'Beast Friends' and 'Precious Polaroids' dies.

And finally, as I've probably bored you senseless, a bounty of baubles from MFT's 'Santa' Elves' with a sentiment from Winnie & Walter again.

Thankful For Alcohol Inks

Happy Valentine's Day you romantic lot.
My day started with the soft nuzzle of a wet nose, a spot of ear nibbling and a thorough leg licking.
Alas it was neither Mr C nor the Milktray Man...just a daft, excitable hound with her usual morning greeting.

Anyway I'm glad to see you all and thankful that my latest obsesson with Alcohol Inks hasn't frightened you off.
I've used the same technique (if you can call it a technique) as before where I simply drip 1 drop of ink at a time and move the colours around using a TH air spritzer on Yupo. Remember, you can do this with a straw or if you're dead-posh, canned air.
I then flick blending solution to create speckled areas. Sometimes I find I have to blot the blending solution with kitchen-towel to reveal the speckled area, however on this creation the 'magic' just happened.

I die-cut 3 leaves from the dried paper using Clearly Besotted's 'Autumn Flowers' & a 'thanks' sentiment from WPlus9

Aren't the blending solution effects stuuning? Like droplets of rain water.
Just sitting here watching the inks and blending solution move is so satisfying.

The leaves left & right & the sentiment were glued onto my card base and the centre leaf fixed with foam pads. Some strategically placed sequins and a few silver Sharpie dots to finish.
Return next time at your peril...it's gonna be more of the same...I can't help myself!

Greens n' Blues

Wotcha!
We've just returned from a weeks holiday in Looe, Cornwall where the sea was the most beautiful shades of greens and blues. I'm now taking this week off to catch up on family life, enjoy some crafting time and to potter in our own garden.

Today I've used a stamp set called 'Doodle Buds' from WPlus9.

I've embossed in WOW Pearl Gold Sparkle which leaves a fabulous glittery outline.

I embossed as I wanted to watercolour with my Zig brush markers and, as I'm using water, the embossing holds the colour within the image rather than bleeding across over the lines.

I used 4 colours, Light Blue, Cobalt Blue, Turqouise Green and Persian Green and let the water dropped from my tiny paintbrush move & blend the colours.

Have a great week everyone x

Fanciful Feathers

Coooooooeeeeeey!
It's been a few weeks since my last card as the ol' craft mojo has been on vacation.
I've been spending my time wisely though looking for inspiration, some new stash and trying to create cards that make it to the mantelpiece rather than the bin.

Thank goodness there's an endless supply of inspiration out there and a whole heap of craft stash looking for a new home.
For both of these cards I used a beautiful stamp set from WPlus9 called Fanciful Feathers, sentiment stamps from Paper Smooches and Versacolor inks which I embossed with clear embossing powder.

The ol' mojo is back in town....ok, ok...my bank balance is slightly down (lol) but it feels ohhhhhhhhhh sooooooo good.

Can't stop....I'm on a roll.
