The weather's been so hot I haven't felt able to paint lately. I have however played with a watercolour painting on Photoshop that I made recently. Sitting in the coolest room in the house with my laptop seems easier somehow! I'd quite like to be one of those girls by the beach with an enormous ice-cream cone wouldn't you? :) These are the beach huts on a beach in Devon called Broadsands. I love how each one is a different colour and when I see one of the doors open, I try to sneak a look inside to see how people decorate the interior. Sometimes they're like little houses in their own right! The word for Illustration Friday this week is 'Jungle' so you'll have to forgive me for posting this one I'd already made as a commission. It's as hot as a Jungle today, easily!

I've just finished a painting and it wasn't until I'd scanned it that I realised I'd not painted the trunk in front of the tree as I'd intended! The trouble with watercolour is that once it's there, it's there. Now my dilemma is do I let it go as it is, or do I start again? Drat! While I get out another piece of paper and start a new painting, let me show you the lovely place I was yesterday. My brother lives close to the white horse area so a visit to  Uffington with him led to a beautiful (but windy!) walk over the stunning hilltops. It's so grey here this week. Half term and grey weather. So, to brighten up the greyness, here is a little grey elephant complete with pretty spots. He notices that the tree looks very similar to himself and feels compelled to climb it but of course he's the wrong shape for climbing! He'll stare at it for a bit and then get bored and go off and find something more fun to do. Goodbye little elephant!

An elephant in the room is one thing and an elephant dancing on the spot is another! ;) This week's word for Illustration Friday is 'sweater'. I've never called them sweaters, or pullovers, I call them jumpers or long sleeved tops! What do you call them?
