New Year, New Window

Happy New Year!
As the new year rings in tonight, I wish everyone a Happy and safe New Year!
What a year its been! I am still working on my new B&B project, and have added a new window on my staircase landing, it sure helps to 'open' it up and add some light..growing up in a older home I remember the little square window on the landing of the staircase..it was very much like this one I tried to recreate....Old homes always have such character, and craftsmanship you don't find now days in new homes
Well..much to do, and with a new year a new window seemed appropriate......

There in the front in the little bag, next to the heart, looks like two little dots.....those are teeny tiny little bugs! And one of my favorite things, a Twilight book ...in mini!!!

Oh so much fun! I have been busy working on the first floor rooms..thats where I have disappeared to, if you were wondering, lol!
I have finished the wallpapering, and am now working on the staircase. Doing myself, Oh I also had to do my own door..the one that came with it just would not do..I have a vision..lol...plus the one it came with had gaps and just not very good.

Just a update..I still have this wrapped candy...(the ones I did in with the Press n Seal)....and just wanted you all to know it is still looking good as ever! Some commented on this not being 'long lasting'...well tho its not been too long, just over a year, the 'candy' is still looking good :)

We'll see next year..ROFL!

Construction under way!

I have stopped construction at this point to better finish the rooms this far, I feel its easier to get to some of these spots now....I can't shrink and get into some of these spots, ha!
I have started the first room, this will be the entry, where guests will sign in and get checked in while they stay, and it will also be the dinning hall...the stairs I am pondering on, I will be 'customizing' them, but have to plan them out first...today I will be working on some more of the wallpapering and trim

A new beginning...

I have not been around much here lately, seems real life things always interfering any more...one awful thing that had happened was a pipe that broke in out basement and the septic backed into the basement..and my 'luck' have it right where I have all my dollhouses and work shop! It was a mess, and a terrible ordeal for me to see many of my things ruined! Including my Bed and Breakfast house, which was actually the very first dollhouse .....it was soaked!

But just yesterday hubby took me to get a 'replacement'! Ah like having a 'mini insurance' policy! HA! I am so excited! Once again I can find a little joy...move on from the sad tragedy! I have it all planned out! Been working at it and will continue til I have it all done and can place all the things that were able to be salvaged from the old house in!
So more to come!!

Today i recieved a special surprise from a dear mini friend, Janice, she is just very talented..look at all the wonderful, pretty purses! Perfect for my Boutique and other scenes! (she also made the little sock monkey there on the sofa)

It was just a wonderful gift!

Goodies from some friends! I just love days likes these when little surprises come! And look at this little Indian doll! Perfume, Hats and hat boxes/boxes for my boutique! Woohoo!

In place..

I finally did it! After much sitting thinking, rearranging and then taking it all off again to start all over, its all in place! LOL Yes, since the last time I told you about this little hutch it has sat unable to be finished ..I think I suffer a miniaturist's condition of unable to finish things..lol
But very happy to say it is all glued in place and done! :)

Goodness..where does the time go...and where have I been!!?

Answer to that is ...real life...I have had lots going on, warm weather, kids out of school, blaa blaa blaa.

But I am back! I have begun my newest project, The Beach cottage...well I cut the seal on the box any way..but thats a start for me! hehehe

I have big plans for this one.....so I pushed a few other projects out of the way, since I was 'stumped' on those for now any way!

And here is part of my garden out side that I have been 'taken prisoner' to, to watch explode for summer....

Stuck....

Have you ever had this happen? Do you ever get stuck..just can not figure it out...where to place things! Its horrible, I think it is a condition...I don't know what it would be called...but you freeze up..unable to make a decision on where to put one thing, then another...whats worse is when you think you are finally getting it, like you are magicaly cured, putting it all in place and then you realise maybe you have a second condition or that this has progressed into something even worse b/c you are removing and/or rearranging things!! ....ugh..maybe its being overwhelmed, but I think its far more complicated than just that......

I have sat here all day..staring at this little hutch...adding and then removing til.....the result, its simple enough...things still in place...just not on the hutch yet! Oh except the one little red pitcher from my dear friend MA###

Maybe tomorrow I will get further.....or one more thing added...one day at a time.....lol

.....its a wonder I get anything done...here is proof..I got side tracked! (AGAIN) Look what I did..I made a baby! A BABY! What was I thinking..wasn't I working on the cabin..where did this come from, guess thats how it goes! LOL, anyhoo...well she is sleeping...geesh that was really hard work..I challenged myself and I think I am pleased, I think I am getting better now with clay, just got to learn not to burn it! ha, thats my trouble..I get sidetracked and forget its in the oven! UGH...
But this is another project I have been wanting to do for so long...now to make her 'room' and she'll need lots of baby stuff!
Oh the fun begins!

My son wanted to see the lights on in the dark....so we turned off all our lights and mom (me) made magic! lol! Never thought this could be more than just something that pleased me..but sure was a crowd pleaser tonight! :P

Valentine forgot!

Goodness where does the time go!
I know..I was 'swept away' by a tall dark and handsome who gave me chocolates and I have spent hours stuffing every one of them down while playing with my minis! hehe..hows that...or maybe I am suffering from amnesia!
Truth is I got too busy, and forgot to post my valentine photo up..so not too late yet I am doing so now! (Tho the amnesia might be closer to the truth! lol, shhhhh!)
anyhoo.. here it tis! A few little goodies i have gotten from some friends, love love love it all!
So just a holiday behind..just a little! :P

Counter space...

I am still around...stuck at the cabin doing repairs and fixing it up for that 'mini man'! Worked on this little addition...more counter space/work space in the kitchen area for cooking...moving along nicely I think...now to other things! More to come :)

moving along..

So here I have been , working on this 'man' cabin..I say 'man' b/c it is a cabin for 'that man' who ever, who enjoys hunting and fishing..not a place you'd find a lady much..and so the look of this cabin will reflect that too..lol..a 'man' cabin....anyhoo, so I have been working on the kitchenett part of this cabin..I decided that it should have some things to keep his...well beverages and 'meats' cold and fresh... once drug back and butchered, gutted yuk, yuk yuk! ..so I made this old frig. I think that will do the trick.....ahh, maybe it needs more grime...ok, I will go put more on it now...

....ever had the feeling you are being watched!?! lol OMG, talk about freaking ya out!

There it was staring in at me as I fussed with my minis one night...I thought I had managed to 'cut off' the world, as I often have to do to get any time alone with my things, lol..but some how she managed to find me! ..hmmm..maybe I should have named her Demon too! (my other dog's name) LOL

a glow...

..ahhhhh, fire....we have fire! ...well its almost a fire, still have to 'fill' the belly...but how about that! It has been no easy task creating this here little bit of 'warmth'...but we have succeeded so far! hehee!

I had to drill a hole in the floor and run the wire thru...so it goes under the cabin, connects with the other light and I have a switch, that my husband provided to me :) and from that a battery ...so neat, so I have this all connected and done for now...now I press on, to new adventures 'at' the cabin!

Belly of the beast!

Well I've been working on my lights in the cabin, this part went well, got the little light a nice spot in the belly of this stove..awaiting some things to add in to look like a real fire......but with the other light, the ceiling light, goodness just about took my finger off! ha, I just love the way they make things..they didn't grove the base of the ceiling light I got for the wire, so if I try to put it up on the ceiling it won't press completely to the ceiling b/c the wire is in between the base and the ceiling! Know what I mean? so I took my exacto knife and tried to hold the tiny little plastic base so I could cut a little groove in it with out one in my finger...yeah, well that didn't work so good..it was all go til the late and the knife slipped and headed right for my finger..YEEEEOOOOWWW! but..its up there...for now...now to run the wire......

.....So today with my throbbing finger I will figure out the rest of the wiring ...not to mention I thought I had a roll of wire and guess I was wrong..have to try and make this work.....I have done lights before, but this is sure challenging me! LOL!
