Seems a Little Sketchy joined by My Grafico & The Paper Cut
At Seems a Little Sketchy this week we were sponsored by My Grafico, a fun site with many cute digi images. They gave us a mountain of images to use but these three cutie pies caught my EYE(S). I just love these little creatures and even though they already have eyes, I decided to Accent them! We were to use the following Sketch-I chose to use some great zig zag paper from The Paper Studio and I found some super card stock by The Paper Cut in the colors of Pop Tone Lemon Drop and Orange Fizz for the larger accent fields. They come in a great 65 lb thickness!

It's getting Spooky at The Paper Cut using Emma From Fred She Said
I couldn't wait to use this great card blank from The Paper Cut-it's called an Outer Stair Step card in Black Licorice that comes pre-scored and cut so it takes all the hassle of measuring and manually cutting out of the fun of creating~ All you have to do is add your dp and embellishments and you've got a great card. All of these card blank sets come with square cut envelopes so that your thicker cards have more room.
Thanks so much for stopping by-come back again real soon!

Squigglefly-Talk to Me Challenge- Oh What a mistake I made!!
Ok, I know this card is a bit weird for me....surely someone out there has experienced this before...I was determined to make the best of it...here's my story on how I was making a card for the Squigglefly's latest challenge- Talk To Me, and what happened. You have to use a sentiment on your card, whether it comes with the image, or an embellishment has a verse on it, or you make it up on your computer...Talk To Us!

Sooo...I'm coloring up my Image with my fav copics to use this week called Seriously Sally by Cheryl Alger, she's one of the contributing artists at Squigglefly. I had the face roughed in and went back to shade the shadows when I noticed that...I HAD PICKED UP THE WRONG COLOR and now Sally had dirt smudges all over her. When I realized my mistake, I was mortified! Well what to do-make lemonade out of lemons! I thought of that Peanuts character called Pigpen with the dirt devils all over the place and on the character. So, that's what this is supposed to look like. I tried a technique that I had seen where you wet your paper and then sprinkle coffee where you want it and watch it dissolve. I think it looks kind-of like clouds of dust?
So then I thought that maybe Sally didn't want to stop playing ball?...or tag?...and so "Seriously?" I have to Go Back to School? Oh the stories that she could tell! Well I hope you like my little story and that if anything happens to you like this-Don't despair. make lemonade!

Beginning a Lovely Partnership with The Paper Cut!
Off on a new adventure for me as I begin creating cards for The Paper Cut! I'm very excited to be using their very cool pre-cut and scored card blanks-it makes creating a card SO very easy. No more measuring, cutting, scoring--it's already done for you! All you have to do is add your creativity and have fun!

The style I'm using on these Birthday cards is called appropriately the "Cupcake Swinging Z Fold Card" in 2 fabulous colors, Lemon Drop & Pewter. I've always been interested in these cards that do a "flip" while you're opening the card and having the Impression Obsession Cupcake Set thin metal die set to really accent the flip was fantastic!
On the BOLD graphic card, I teamed up the Lemon Drop card with one of The Paper Cut's new Pop Tone card stocks called Razzle Berry, both for the embossed liner and the cupcake base. I love this yummy pink color!! Then I used the Whip Cream card stock for the icing and the cupcake sentiment frame inside-topped it off with some seed beads "sprinkles"--Looks good enough to EAT!!
Next I was on to a little more elegant card using the same Paper Cut swinging card but in the shade of pewter. I was looking to make a masculine card but then stumbled over this paisley patterned paper from The Paper Studio-it matched perfectly. There's a hint of green in the print so I used one of the Basis card stock line in Basis Olive for the embossed liner and the mat under the stamped image. The blue accents are done with Basis Lt. Blue and "icing" in Whip Cream again. I love the Stickles that I Sprinkled on the cupcake and the HB mat!
I'm so lucky to be using these wonderful items-I hope that you will visit The Paper Cut site and check out their Gallery for loads of ideas~ Thanks for looking!

Southern Girls Challenge this week~~Make Believe
I tried a different card style than I usually make but I'm loving the curved front effect! This image from Rhoda's Etsy store is called Windy Day Margo and was such fun to color up with my copics. She looks Sassy! The Leaf DP I used on the front is shiny embossed on each leaf-I just loved it when I purchased it! There is a twisted knot of Rust Twill that has Autumn Splendor printed on it and some branch punchies in browns stuck down into the knot. I have a cream panel in the inside that is stamped with "Thank You". Could even be as a Hostess card if you were invited to Thanksgiving Dinner somewhere
The challenges at Southern Girls Challenge are every 2 weeks and we get tons of International and Stateside entries. There are always great prizes and sponsors and the winners are ALL HAND PICKED by the DT--No Random number choices here-I think that makes it even more special, don't you? We'll hopefully see you there soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch #47 on Seems a Little Sketchy-an Apple a Day!
We are so lucky on Seems A Little Sketchy to be able to use these great digis from Robyn's Fetish-this one is such a perfect Fall scene! A lush basket of Apples~~ummm I can just taste the crisp crunch of the Apple!

I love the fact that you get such interesting sketches from SALS to use every 2 weeks-this challenge has as a prize, a $10 certificate from The Robin's Nest and 3 digital images from Robyn's Fetish. WELL worth your effort to enter the challenge!

The card I made is 6x6 using double sided dp from Bella Blvd called Thankful-love these papers from BB. (The green floral is the reverse). The Apple paper and brown CS are from my stash as is the sentiment heavy cardstock accent sticker. I used copics to color my image.
Imagine there are many families heralding in the Fall with the kids going back to school now or soon~hopefully, here in Illinois, there was enough rain during the spring and summer that we'll get some beautiful Fall foliage soon. I hope that you will have that beauty also. Happy Fall Y'all!
