Dark and depressing and very loud music symbolized by Egiptian pyramids? Ankt, not to be confused with Ankh, show their first album from distant land of Brazil. And they are sooo good.
No point in beating around the bush, the vocals are as angry and threatening as they should but sometimes also calm and melancholic. And sometimes both at once. Guitars are loud and ear crushing as they are supposed to be, although there are calmer, more sad than tragic moments too. And this all is already to be found in the first longer track - "Leaves". And the album is long and engaging. No wonder, the band had been preparing it for four years!.
I was touched by "Au Revoir" that radiates almost tangible melancholy, longing for something far away in space and time . Also sacral/gothic elements of "Subversion" draw the attention of a listener.
